Poll on the positions of people who identify with the Republican party?
http://www.dailykos.com/statepoll/2010/1 /31/US/437

Yes, the Dailykos does have a huge bias, but the company which conducted the poll (Research 2000) is not biased. I imagine the Dailykos posted the poll because some opinions on the majority of people who identify with Republicans may be seen as a little radical.

How do you feel about the poll results? Are they accurate? Do you agree with the views of other Republicans?

39% who identify with the Republican party think Obama should be impeached
63% who identify with the Republican party think Obama is a socialist
36% who identify with the Republican party think Obama wasn’t born in the US
24% who identify with the Republican party think Obama wants the terrorists to win
21% who identify with the Republican party think ACORN stole the election
53% who identify with the Republican party think Palin is more qualified than Obama to be president
31% who identify with the Republican party think Obama is a racist who hates white people
23% who identify with the Republican party think their state should secede from the United States
55% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed in the military
77% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed to marry
68% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed to receive the same federal benefits as everyone else (from marriage)
73% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed to teach in public schools
51% who identify with the Republican party think sex education should not be taught in public schools
77% who identify with the Republican party think Genesis (Creation) should be taught in public schools
31% who identify with the Republican party think contraceptive use (condoms, the pill, etc) should be outlawed
34% who identify with the Republican party think the birth control pill is the same as abortion
76% who identify with the Republican party think abortion is murder
91% who identify with the Republican party support the death penalty

I didn’t list all the polling data, feel free to look over the actual poll.
Deleted the previous one and reposted because the entire question got bugged.
libsticker, please actually read the details before you answer. I’m asking for others opinions.
Thank you libsticker for answering. =]

I think that it has a degree of error, that I agree with some views, and I disagree with some. But I could conduct a poll and frame the questions differently and get a completely different result too.

they give you a choice on those things rep or dem and since they are against obama and hes dem of course they would pick rep

trippsmith485 | Feb 03, 2010

I pretty much fall in line with all of them, especially "91% who identify with the Republican party support the death penalty".

I actually used to favor gay marriage and rights but since 2008 when gays saw fit ot overwhelmingly support ‘party’ over what was best for America I have since become bitter. My personal opinion is that if they can vote for their ‘feelings’ than so can I.
-currently I’m pizzed and will vote against ANY gay marriage proposal.
SUCK IT.
Ou812 the hate returns pt6 | Feb 03, 2010

Do the results have democrat results to compare to? Like the Gay marriage one-it is interesting that states like California and Maine vote down gay marriage even though they are liberal meccas. So are you saying that the issue of Gay marriage is actually opposed by a HUGE margin in the US? Because according to your poll, Gay marriage-which loses in highly liberal states would lose big in balanced states and be trounced in conservative states because of the higher ration of conservatives in those states. Overall your statistics show Americans to be solidly against it.

1) no because joe biden would be worse
2) yes, what do you call wanting to nationalize heathcare and the govt takeover of gm
3) i dont really think about this much but he sure is putting a lot of money into hiding his actual birth certificate
4) was this poll taken when obama took a really long time to decide weather or not to send more troops to afganistan when generals were saying they needed more
5) i dont think they stole the election but i wouldnt doubt that they influenced it
6) she was governor, he was a senator for just as long as she was a governor
7) he went to reverend wrights church of hate for how many years, you can say he didnt listen for all that time
8) im against this, fix the united states, dont leave it
9) no they shouldnt
10) i dont think they should
11) that depends do you mean tax wise, for the tax breaks i think the tax should just be a flat tax no oh your married you have to pay so much less
12) that depends, do they start talking about their sexuality a lot, if so then no
13) parents should start teaching their kids, and it definatly shouldnt be taught as early as some people want(like 1-6 grade)
14) no, church is for this, and i kinda think this number is flawed
15) no to this
16) no to this
17) yes i think it is murder
18) yes i support it and i think they should go back to firing squad because its cheaper, or use the electric chair run off exercise bikes in the prison because it would be cheaper
Kush Slayer | Feb 03, 2010

how do you know research 2000 isn’t biased? because the daily kos says so? when you poll, it depends how you phrase your question and you can steer the answer based on the way you phrase the question. i don’t put a lot of stock in polls and i really don’t rely on a poll done by a company i’m not familiar with or have never heard of. are you familiar with the wilson and zogby polls done immediately after people voted? both polls asked the same questions and obama voters scored far lower than did mccain voters. what conclusions do you draw from that? the questions were multiple choice some only having 2 choices. for example, which party controls congress where you had a 50-50 chance merely by guessing.
rwb13 | Feb 03, 2010

Well, I’ll just hit line by line…

* Impeached? Gettin’ close, but not yet.
* Socialist? Yep.
* Not born in US? Evidence is pretty compelling and warrants scrutiny.
* Wants terrorists to win? He won’t use the word, so he appears willing to forgive them.
* ACORN stole election? Don’t know about "stole", but they definitely did not follow the rules.
* Palin over Obama? Ehn…wouldn’t want either as President, but I do think she would be better.
* Obama racist? Won’t say "yes", but it’s getting a lot closer to being "yes" with each day.
* Secede? No, fight to return this nation to greatness!
* Gays in military? No opinion on this one really. Doesn’t matter.
* Gay marriage? Against the terminology, but all for providing comparable legal rights.
* Gay teachers? Not openly and not in an activist manner. Other than that, sure.
* Sex education? Torn on this one. More information is out there (in schools and out) and it is not benefiting the youth of this nation.
* Public school is not for the teaching of Genesis since that is religious. It belongs in the church.
* Ban contraceptives? That’s just insane!
* Abortion is murder? No, but is not right and should be discouraged.
* Death penalty? Oh yeah, light ‘em up, baby! Expedite the process!

Some other items I found interesting…

* 68% against simplifying the union-forming process.
* 59% against amnesty for illegal immigrants already in the US. I agree with this one big time.
* 76% state marriage is an equal partnership! A fairly even split on percentages between men and women too! Good question there.
* 86% in favor of women working outside the home. Realistic, and a surprising stat if you follow what liberals say about conservatives.

It was also rather interesting that 89% of the polling group was white, 56% male, the age group of 18-29 was the least represented at 9% and the region of the nation most represented was the 42% from the South.

Not that I agree with all of the pole questions but since when is common sense and logic considered radical.

Also from my 52 years of life, having lived in 6 different States, two different countries, visited 43 of 50 states (yes not 57 states) having spoken with and or worked with people from all ideologies and races of life I do not think I am speaking out of ignorance or lack of experience, again i do not agree 100% with everything, but a majority of the questions with a high percent are nothing but good sense, logic and knowledge are not radical and wanting "diversity" for diversities sake. .

Quite funny national jokes?
An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were stranded on a little island in The middle of The Pacific Ocean and one day they found a magic lamp. When they rubbed it. a genie appeared and granted them each any one wish they desired.
‘I’d like to be back in London.’ said The Englishman and he was whisked back to London.
‘I’d like to be back in Glasgow,’ said The Scotsman and he too was whisked away.
‘I’m very lonely here all on my own,’ said The Irishman, ‘I wish my friends were back again

‘Oh he’s in the wardrobe stopping the wire coat-hangers from rattling

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were taking part in a survey about tea-drinking habits.
‘I always stir my tea with my left hand,’ said The Englishman.

‘Oh me?’ said The Irishman, ‘I always use a spoon

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were each boasting that they had The best job in The world.
‘I work in The Royal Mint,’ said The Englishman, ‘and I can take home as much money as I want.’
‘I’m The chief taster in a whiskey distillery,’ said The Scotsman, ‘and The free samples are out of this world.’
‘But I’ve got The best job of all,’ said The Irishman, ‘I’m working in a British crematorium, burning Englishmen and Scotsmen and getting paid for it

The Englishman, The Irishman, The Scotsman, and The Welshman (lets not forget the Welsh) were all flying together in an airliner. The captain announced that they were losing altitude rapidly and that one of them would have to jump out to save The others.
‘I do this for The glory of Scotland,’ said The Scotsman and he jumped out.
‘We need to lose more weight,’ said The captain, so The Welshman shouted ,’I do this for The glory of Wales’, and jumped out.
‘Sorry,’ said The captain, ‘I’m afraid we need to lose The weight of just one more person.’
‘I do this for The glory of Ireland,’ said The Irishman and threw out The Englishman.

Not my jokes.
I found one more

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were playing Russian roulette. The Englishman used a gun with six chambers and no bullets; The Scotsman used a gun with six chambers and one bullet; The Irishman used a gun with six chambers and six bullets - but he put The gun to The Englishman’s head

Matchstick Men
Matchstick Men (2003)

IMDB rating: 7.40

Plot: Meet Roy and Frank, a couple of professional small-time con artists. What Roy, a veteran of the grift, and Frank, his ambitious protege, are swindling these days are “water filtration systems,” bargain-basement water filters bought by unsuspecting people who pay ten times their value in order to win bogus prizes like cars, jewelry and overseas vacations—which they never collect. These scams net the flim-flam men a few hundred here, another thousand there, which eventually adds up to a lucrative partnership. Roy’s private life, however, is not so successful. An obsessive-compulsive agoraphobe with no personal relationships to call his own, Roy is barely hanging on to his wits, and when his idiosyncrasies begin to threaten his criminal productivity he’s forced to seek the help of a psychoanalyst just to keep him in working order. While Roy is looking for a quick fix, his therapy begets more than he bargained for: the revelation that he has a teenage daughter—a child whose existence he suspected but never dared confirm. What’s more troubling, 14-year-old Angela wants to meet the father she never knew. At first, Angela’s appearance disrupts her neurotic father’s carefully ordered routine. Soon, however, with his own unique spin on parenthood, Roy begins to enjoy a relationship he never dreamed of having with his daughter. But while he develops paternal feelings for the 14-year-old, she’s developing a fascination with Daddy’s questionable career.

HELP How Do I get Her Back!!! :(?
this is gonna sound pathetic. I’m 29 years old and my gf is 25. We been together for about five months. From the start she was super sweet to me, always texting me she was thinking about me how i’m the sexiest most handsome intelligent sincere man and she would not give me up for the world. Everything was perfect never any porblems and i was even really great to her three year old daughter. But then three weeks ago her ex husband started fgiving her problems and she started getting stressed at work. We got into a small misunderstanding over text because she just became really distant and i asked her if things were cool. She said cause i asked i was being "needy" like her ex. I never asked her for her time in the five months we were together, never got jealous, always waited till she asked me to come over and never pushed for alot of sex cause i know she juggles alot. As soon as the text argument came up i immediately called her but she did not asnwer. So I messed up by seriously blowing up her phone for a freaking weak! Ugh I knew i shouldn"t have cause she told me when she gets stressed to just leave her alone. Now she dumped and accused me of being just like her ex. We were really good together and all that i asked her for was a five minute phone conversation. Almost all my texts were swet while i was blowing up her phone but when she dumped me and sccused me of being like her ex i lost it and told her she would never find a guy like as understanding as me and she was a liar for telling me she would work issues that came up between us and for telling me all the time she wouldn’t give me up for the world. she called me an asshole. I sent her one last apology text wishing her the best. Everything was so perfect and she was so into me before all this. I’m not gonna text her anymore. what are my chances she will contact me or how long should i wait to try callin gher again. She was seriously saying how she wanted me forever before all this and she isn’t the type of girl to bs. I really like this girl and feel crushed over this.

Additional Details
I texted her a couple of funny things and told her I landed this great job and she replied to my texts with laughs and congrats. She was really pissed yesterday.

She was sooooo into me. Hey for the laides is it possible a girl can be really attracted to a guy physically then all of a sudden not be even if there is no change in the way he looks? My confidence is shattered and now i"m just thining like she just doesn’t find me physically attractive all of a sudden. I just don’t know how she can all of a sudden be crazy about me then BAM i"m nothin!

I’m already screwed cause i blew up her phone! So i don"t even think being quiet will help cause she already thinks I’m all clings and emotional. How can i navigate communication with her and stay on her mind.

I believe you are just not her type. Sure, you really like her, but she needs someone who cn respect her space, no matter what. She likes being alone when she’s mad, and you misunderstood that. It’s uncompromisable, it’s a fact.

She may never go back to you, even if she forgives you - but in the case she does "take you back," you’ll have to be a changed man. Yes I understand all the time she was sweet, but times of stress bring out who people really are, and if you and her dont work together, you’re working apart.
Vansta Dumoore | Jan 29, 2010

first of all you are coming of as extremely clingy and emotional..
just leave her alone, stop texting and calling her!
give her a week, or two..
then send her a text, just like hey id like to meet up for coffee and talk, and if she doesnt want to then dont push her.
if she loves you as much as she claimed she did, she will eventually come to you, you just have to sit there and be patient with her and wait.

Skeleton key questions?
Me and my sister are thinking of watching the 2005 movie "Skeleton Key." I hate horror movies with gore and stuff, and since I’m only 14 I don’t want there to be, like, any nudity or anything, I’m fine with profanity. I’m also okay with ghosts and magic and stuff like that, I really only have a problem with gore and things popping out at you. Does this movie have any of that?? THANKS

No, no nudity, and no gore. Just creepiness.

Good movie.
Truth Hurts | Jan 30, 2010

No nudity, just voodoo magic and such. Below is the website with the movie’s content: —————–

It’s actually a parental guide found on IMDB.
RIVERKID Roll Tide! | Jan 30, 2010

Relax this film has nothing of that sort, no gore or things popping up.
graybuddy | Jan 30, 2010

I wouldn’t call this a horror movie. There is no gore, blood, guts, killing and such. It’s more a psychological thriller. It terrifies you with little mind tweeks. Most of the movie is a frantic build up to a very surprising ending which is what made it a good movie.

Why are you against the challenge of "And Tango Makes Three"?
"And Tango Makes Three" is the most challenged book for almost three years.
Why are you against the challenge/ban?
At a "mock board" in my school, I have to support the book from being banned.
If you are one of those individuals who are challenging the book, feel free to express your views also.It will give me a headsup on issues my partners who will be challenging the book might say.

Thank you all for your thoughts.

p.s. I’ve done alot of research on this book. But I am not sure how to start my topic. Thank you for any help. :)

Even though I haven’t read it (going to once I find a copy) I still think no book should be banned cause we have freedom of print. Just cause some people say a book is innapporiate doesn’t mean they can go out and try to prevent everyone from reading it.

Sorry if this isn’t what you’re looking for.

lady_speg | Oct 03, 2009

What’s the point of freedom of the press? They ban everything worth reading.

The objection against the book comes from the fact that it teaches children to accept homosexuality as a part of life and as an acceptable norm.

So? Do you want your children discriminating against certain types and groups of people? I think it’s a good thing that this book came out. It’s based on a true story and is teaching children that there are homosexuals in the world. Freaking deal with it.

Yeah, if you have the Steam client, the pre-order is for sale for $44.99. You need a credit card to purchase games from Steam.
