Poll on the positions of people who identify with the Republican party?
http://www.dailykos.com/statepoll/2010/1 /31/US/437

Yes, the Dailykos does have a huge bias, but the company which conducted the poll (Research 2000) is not biased. I imagine the Dailykos posted the poll because some opinions on the majority of people who identify with Republicans may be seen as a little radical.

How do you feel about the poll results? Are they accurate? Do you agree with the views of other Republicans?

39% who identify with the Republican party think Obama should be impeached
63% who identify with the Republican party think Obama is a socialist
36% who identify with the Republican party think Obama wasn’t born in the US
24% who identify with the Republican party think Obama wants the terrorists to win
21% who identify with the Republican party think ACORN stole the election
53% who identify with the Republican party think Palin is more qualified than Obama to be president
31% who identify with the Republican party think Obama is a racist who hates white people
23% who identify with the Republican party think their state should secede from the United States
55% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed in the military
77% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed to marry
68% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed to receive the same federal benefits as everyone else (from marriage)
73% who identify with the Republican party think people who are gay should not be allowed to teach in public schools
51% who identify with the Republican party think sex education should not be taught in public schools
77% who identify with the Republican party think Genesis (Creation) should be taught in public schools
31% who identify with the Republican party think contraceptive use (condoms, the pill, etc) should be outlawed
34% who identify with the Republican party think the birth control pill is the same as abortion
76% who identify with the Republican party think abortion is murder
91% who identify with the Republican party support the death penalty

I didn’t list all the polling data, feel free to look over the actual poll.
Deleted the previous one and reposted because the entire question got bugged.
libsticker, please actually read the details before you answer. I’m asking for others opinions.
Thank you libsticker for answering. =]

Ah jeez, not the Daily Kook again.

I think that it has a degree of error, that I agree with some views, and I disagree with some. But I could conduct a poll and frame the questions differently and get a completely different result too.

You have proof 0bama is not a socialist?
Anyone But 0bama 2012 | Feb 03, 2010

It sounds like the ones on here
trippsmith485 | Feb 03, 2010

I pretty much fall in line with all of them, especially "91% who identify with the Republican party support the death penalty".

I actually used to favor gay marriage and rights but since 2008 when gays saw fit ot overwhelmingly support ‘party’ over what was best for America I have since become bitter. My personal opinion is that if they can vote for their ‘feelings’ than so can I.
-currently I’m pizzed and will vote against ANY gay marriage proposal.
SUCK IT.
Ou812 the hate returns pt6 | Feb 03, 2010

Do the results have democrat results to compare to? Like the Gay marriage one-it is interesting that states like California and Maine vote down gay marriage even though they are liberal meccas. So are you saying that the issue of Gay marriage is actually opposed by a HUGE margin in the US? Because according to your poll, Gay marriage-which loses in highly liberal states would lose big in balanced states and be trounced in conservative states because of the higher ration of conservatives in those states. Overall your statistics show Americans to be solidly against it.

1) no because joe biden would be worse
2) yes, what do you call wanting to nationalize heathcare and the govt takeover of gm
3) i dont really think about this much but he sure is putting a lot of money into hiding his actual birth certificate
4) was this poll taken when obama took a really long time to decide weather or not to send more troops to afganistan when generals were saying they needed more
5) i dont think they stole the election but i wouldnt doubt that they influenced it
6) she was governor, he was a senator for just as long as she was a governor
7) he went to reverend wrights church of hate for how many years, you can say he didnt listen for all that time
8) im against this, fix the united states, dont leave it
9) no they shouldnt
10) i dont think they should
11) that depends do you mean tax wise, for the tax breaks i think the tax should just be a flat tax no oh your married you have to pay so much less
12) that depends, do they start talking about their sexuality a lot, if so then no
13) parents should start teaching their kids, and it definatly shouldnt be taught as early as some people want(like 1-6 grade)
14) no, church is for this, and i kinda think this number is flawed
15) no to this
16) no to this
17) yes i think it is murder
18) yes i support it and i think they should go back to firing squad because its cheaper, or use the electric chair run off exercise bikes in the prison because it would be cheaper

how do you know research 2000 isn’t biased? because the daily kos says so? when you poll, it depends how you phrase your question and you can steer the answer based on the way you phrase the question. i don’t put a lot of stock in polls and i really don’t rely on a poll done by a company i’m not familiar with or have never heard of. are you familiar with the wilson and zogby polls done immediately after people voted? both polls asked the same questions and obama voters scored far lower than did mccain voters. what conclusions do you draw from that? the questions were multiple choice some only having 2 choices. for example, which party controls congress where you had a 50-50 chance merely by guessing.

Well, I’ll just hit line by line…

* Impeached? Gettin’ close, but not yet.
* Socialist? Yep.
* Not born in US? Evidence is pretty compelling and warrants scrutiny.
* Wants terrorists to win? He won’t use the word, so he appears willing to forgive them.
* ACORN stole election? Don’t know about "stole", but they definitely did not follow the rules.
* Palin over Obama? Ehn…wouldn’t want either as President, but I do think she would be better.
* Obama racist? Won’t say "yes", but it’s getting a lot closer to being "yes" with each day.
* Secede? No, fight to return this nation to greatness!
* Gays in military? No opinion on this one really. Doesn’t matter.
* Gay marriage? Against the terminology, but all for providing comparable legal rights.
* Gay teachers? Not openly and not in an activist manner. Other than that, sure.
* Sex education? Torn on this one. More information is out there (in schools and out) and it is not benefiting the youth of this nation.
* Public school is not for the teaching of Genesis since that is religious. It belongs in the church.
* Ban contraceptives? That’s just insane!
* Abortion is murder? No, but is not right and should be discouraged.
* Death penalty? Oh yeah, light ‘em up, baby! Expedite the process!

Some other items I found interesting…

* 68% against simplifying the union-forming process.
* 59% against amnesty for illegal immigrants already in the US. I agree with this one big time.
* 76% state marriage is an equal partnership! A fairly even split on percentages between men and women too! Good question there.
* 86% in favor of women working outside the home. Realistic, and a surprising stat if you follow what liberals say about conservatives.

It was also rather interesting that 89% of the polling group was white, 56% male, the age group of 18-29 was the least represented at 9% and the region of the nation most represented was the 42% from the South.

Not that I agree with all of the pole questions but since when is common sense and logic considered radical.

Also from my 52 years of life, having lived in 6 different States, two different countries, visited 43 of 50 states (yes not 57 states) having spoken with and or worked with people from all ideologies and races of life I do not think I am speaking out of ignorance or lack of experience, again i do not agree 100% with everything, but a majority of the questions with a high percent are nothing but good sense, logic and knowledge are not radical and wanting "diversity" for diversities sake. .

I'm frustrated and feel like my dad only notices the tiny mistakes that I make, and it's stressing me out?
I’ve always been a straight-A student, and accomplished person, and I’m usually very pulled-together, but I’ve had a lot going on lately that has distracted me, and I’ve made absent-minded mistakes and am SO frustrated that they are what my dad seems to notice now more than all the things I do right. I was diagnosed with a medical condition last summer that has been stressful for both of us, but I am the one who actually has it, not him. Last month I fell asleep while sitting up in bed sketching, which is extremely unusual considering that I’m an insomniac, and I hadn’t blown out a candle on my nightstand. He freaked out about that. A couple of nights ago I had a horrible headache and caffeine really helps me, and I knew I wouldn’t sleep anyway and I had work I needed to do so I was fine with that, so I made a pot of coffee and I forgot to turn the coffee maker off. I made it out in our little guest house and it wasn’t our normal machine which turns off automatically, so I didn’t even realize that you had to turn it off. Anyway so he discovered the coffee maker still on and totally got on my case because he said it was irresponsible and a fire hazard, and that the coffee was horrible for my health and blah blah blah. Last week at my doctor’s appointment she said my meds had made my normally low BP skyrocket, but it’s been normal this week!!! So it doesn’t matter if I drink coffee. He made a mountain out of a mole hill, and called my mom up about it and she just went off on me about it. I mean, seriously? This is crazy. I’m 17, not 7. It was coffee, not cocaine, and I made a mistake and apologized for it, but he’s still not letting me go to the New Moon premiere tonight, or out tomorrow night and I have special plans. I’ve already talked with him ad nauseum, and he isn’t seeing my point of view at all. I’m thinking of talking to my stepmom about this and getting her to stand up for me, but I’m not sure if getting her involved is wise. Advice????

I can understand your frustration. However, can you understand where he is coming from. The candle could very well have caused a fire and he would have lost you forever. The coffee maker could have overheated and caused a fire. Why did you make coffee in the other building? DId you do that to hid the fact you were drinking coffee? If your meds are making your bp go up the coffee won’t help. Unless it was decaf. The best way to wean yourself off caffine is to just stop drinking it. The headach will last a day or so but it will go away.

I don’t know what your medical condition is but he is worried about you. He wants to make you a safe as possible.

The mistakes you made could have caused harm to your health and others too. So he just grounded you for a couple of days because he wants to show you there are consences to your actions.

Apologize for the mistakes if you haven’t. Tell him you understand that he loves you and are trying to do what is best. Try to understand his viewpoint. Take your discipline like a grown up. Next time be more careful and don’t be so sneaky.

yeah my dads a jerk too, ocd freak. i hate the way he acts. i have two lazy messed up brothers, who have thrown their lifes away. dont have jobs, didnt graduate from high school, while i worked my ass off too graduate from high school, and get into a good college. i work full time, im actually doing something with my life. like your dad hes constantly on me about every little thing i do wrong, bugs the freaking crap out of me. but with my brothers, its like their gods or something. hes always praising them, telling them how great their doing, and how much he loves them. before i moved out, i went through lots of emotions, when i was young, like 13 14 i was confused. i didnt understand why he couldnt see how hard i was trying. so i tried even harder. as i got older i realized he just didnt give a shit, he didnt love me. so i gave up on trying to impress him and started to hate him, until recently. now im just sad, heart broken. i would be careful getting your step mom involved, if it turns out shes on his side, it may just come around and hit you twice as hard
