Lookout, The (2007)
IMDB rating: 7.40
Plot: An admired high school hockey player (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) with a bright future foolishly takes a drive in the night with his girl friend and two other friends with his headlights off with devastating results. The former athlete is left with a brain injury that prevents him from remembering many things for extended periods of time. To compensate, he keeps notes in a small notebook to aid him in remembering what he is to do. He also lives with a blind friend (Jeff Daniels) who aids him. Obviously, with the mental incapacitation, he is unable to have meaningful work. Thus he works as a night cleaning man in a bank. It is there he comes under the scrutiny of a gang planning to rob the bank. The leader (Matthew Goode) befriends him and gets him involved with a young woman (Isla Fisher) who further reels him in. After they get close and after reeling him in with his own failures, the bank plan unfolds. Confused but wanting to escape his current existence, he initially goes along with the scheme. After realizing he is being used, he attempts to stop the robbery, which of course immediately goes awry. Bruce McGill and Alberta Watson also co-star as the young man’s parents, who still search for the person that was there before the tragic crash.

Culturally speaking, black women what do you think of this comment?
made by BLACK MEN about YOU:
"What have black women actually done for the black community? Y’all claim that y’all the backbone but I haven’t seen it."
"To be honest with you, I haven’t seen it either. The only thing they have done is be selfish and only lookout for themselves. If Black women only made up the Black community, then I would have to say that the Black community is strong and stable. However that isn’t case.
Black women who feel they are the back bone of the Black community need to look up the word "community". Once they do, they will be in a world of hurt.
They haven’t done s**t for the Black community. Pursuing sorry a** creeps who love to pimp women isn’t doing a goddamn thing for the Black community. It’s actually letting young Black boys know that the only way they can attract sexy Black women is to become abuser and a user.
They’re actually hurting the Black community, and I consider a lot of them as a threat to the Black community. The ones who are considered "good Black women" aren’t any better, because they are not making themselves known in the Black community."
this is were I got that comment from

hey!! angry click on the link below, I’m not a darkie I couldn’t make that up.
neet you are typical black chick who can’t answer a question but until tries to turn the question around back to the asker. I’m a white man, I’m trying to let black women know that all men/people despise the majority of them including their own men.
Your making this bull crap up.

Black women ignore this racist white male, he is trying to divide us. He is a spawn of satan, he has nothing but hatred in his heart and soul.

I really don’t care about it. It’s an opinion.
But it obviously means A LOT to YOU. I think somebody likes black men…
Edit – So what if you’re a man. Actually, it makes more sense now. Like i said, you like black men and you’re jealous of black women. Just because one black guy thinks like that doesn’t mean black guys are going to turn to you.
BTW, i answered the question. The question was "black women, what do you think of this?" and the part where i wrote "i really don’t care about it", was my answer to your question.

I think this guy is generalizing and people are not obligated to a community and can volunteer to do good for the community. Short and sweet babe

First, I wanna slap the women who let men pimp them and only dates thugs…..no matter what race they are. Its degrading how they allow men to take advantage of them.
Second, my first reaction to this comment was, "This person is ignorant and only trying to bash BW." The comments are overgeneralizing and they don’t describe how I act at all. I could also ask, "What have BM been doing for the black community?" I read the entire thread you posted and no one wrote anything about what BM are doing right.
I do think some BW need to make better choices for the black community, like not having kids you can’t provide for. But I feel like no group can be blamed for our community’s problems. Both BM and BW need to take responsibility to rebuild our foundation and strengthen our bond to each other.
Personally, I believe that men should be the head of the family and leaders in the community. It seems wrong for BW to be forced to take on the role of BM, since (some) BM are neglecting their duties. Maybe that’s why we’re failing, because BW are not supposed to do it all on their own. Just my opinion.
Besides this, there are very hardworking BW and BM who are making an impact in our community. But there are also slackers. Each individual needs to be held accounable for their actions.
