I will discuss why I strongly believe smoking should be banned in England and why we should take action now.

My brother just left the house after a fight. What can i do? My mother has been angry at him because his girlfriend only comes to our house when there is nobody except for me(i’m 13). They stay at the living room a while before they go to his room for hours and later come out. She is at my house usually at 7:00 a.m until 6:00 p.m or something around that. Then they leave and my brother comes home around 4:00 a.m. My mom is angry because they are giving me a bad example. My mother came home today to eat lunch with me and the girl was here. My mother politely told her what she tought and my brother started arguing with her and left with his girlfriend. The last thing he said was "Don’t even call me." and closed the front door. My mother was under lots of stress after that and i thought she was going to have an stroke. After she left i started crying because i don’t know if i will ever see my brother again. This has been going on for about a month. He is 21 years old and dresses like a punk and does not shaves or do anything to his messy unruly hair. He looks kinda like Hagrid(the giant form harry potter). I’m so confused if he doesn’t come back i’ll go running through town looking for him. I’ve never had that of good relationship with him but now that he left i miss him more than anything. What can i do?
I have sympathy for him because at the same age I was not in a good emotional place. It is hard to both cut him some slack and not allow him to run all over me and set a bad example for my daughter.
We are at a point where ground rules must be set for the good of us all. That is where your family seems to be as well.
Your Mom has the right to feel the way she does. She doesn’t want him holing up with this girl in her home, and not just because it is a bad example for you. If he isn’t ready to live on his own he probably isn’t ready to be a Dad either. She is probably concerned about that. Don’t be mad at her.
You are stressed because you are in the middle. First of all let yourself off the hook by knowing you can control your own behavior, but not other peoples.
This will probably blow over, but if in the worst case scenario your brother moves out realize that at about this age many young people begin to live on their own and grow up. He would still be your brother and love you. He and your Mom might get along better because they wouldn’t be dealing with the tension anymore. I don’t think he’ll move out because he doesn’t seem ready (giving your Mom the upper hand, just the way it should be!).
Do not run out looking for him. This is not in your control and for you and your Mom’s sake you need to stay safe
Last week I told my son to move out if he couldn’t treat me civilly. (he had been very rude) He had a melt down. We talked and came to a better understanding of one another. I listened to him and have made changes that will help him. He knows he isn’t ready to move out and I think it was good for him to know if he doesn’t act right he can go.
Sometimes these things happen at the times when changes have to take place and it is for the best in the end.
You shouldn’t have to be in the middle, but if you are just ask them to really listen to each other. I think that your brother may be depressed based on his behavior, lack of attention to his appearance and the fact that he does not seem to have a job or go to school. Maybe mention that possibility to your Mom so she can help him.

What Peta should/shouldn't be doing? This is a comparative list of what "PETA" the animal lovers should/shouldn’t be doing and feel free to share opinions, flame me for touching a sensitive nerve and even going towards this road:
what peta shouldn’t do:
- they shouldn’t be protesting about a cause that pales in comparison to what actual animal rescue groups actually do and they take up rallies to the circus, KFC, and fur coat makers and animal testing labs. This is useless to go against because most of those places don’t violate any major ethics other than peta’s and that is just for existing.
-they shouldn’t endorse the ALF because they destroy progress to humanity and they aren’t a research organization, they are a group of rag tag bombers that love to destroy work on anti viruses and cures for potentially incurable diseases. They need to make a bridge to work in a much economical way of destroying the science community (like supporting ID and retro sciences like ESP)
-they need to stop wasting the money that was entrusted to them on giant buildings with a lab, chemicals and a Giant Indoor Freezer that Kills unwanted dogs that they deem unfit(poor pit bulls) and they need to try and donate to causes that will stop the endangering process of other species such as the giant frog in Africa that’s constantly eaten.
what they should do:
- they need to do what rescue ink does and SAVE dogs and other animals that are in trouble by bad owners that raise sick dogs, put them into dog fights and even give lessons on how to handle a stray animal carefully. They don’t and they are spending useless protests and give "name changes" to places and buildings deemed inappropriate to their eyes. do they even give this stuff a chance?
-they should work with the science community to increase progress to the point where we have more than enough products that come from meat that don’t cause animal deaths. The need for meat and other products are going to be infinite, so why protest chickens, cows and other farm animals being abused at Certain farms( they show the same footage of the same place) that actually violate industry protocol?
-Stop making shock protest that are stupid, idiotic and a waste of Donations from around the country that want to see animal adoption awareness. Steve Irwin showed how to treat certain animals in the wild if you met them, and Caesar Milan will do more than Newkirk would ever do if she had a child; Caesar will Tell you how to raise a dog and get a great dog without hassle. Showing the holocaust to chickens, making a Flash game that is so stupid even i know KFC will never kill a chicken cruelly without justification. There is no way you guys will ever be taken seriously when you make all fish "sea kittens". that was too low.

Can anyone give me any scientific proof that a bolt-on or a neck-though guitar is better than the other? Can anyone give me any scientific proof that a bolt-on or a neck-though guitar is better than the other? Personally I would use the "bolt-in" method which presents 30% more sustain and more tonal transference than a bolt-on since the neck is bolted directly under where the neck pick-up would be. This also gets rid of the excess wood in the way of reaching the upper frets as used by P.R.S. or Ed Roman vs a "bolt-on" but the principal is the same as a bolt-on. I am trying to make my next guitar and I don’t know which construction I should choose.Can anyone give me scientific fact that bolting the neck is better than gluing the wings onto a longer neck?
P.S. (I know glue is bad and a tone dampener —- hence my problem — I would just do a five piece master-grade Bird’s Eye Maple/Korina neck with an Ebony fret-board if the glue wasn’t an issue. One thing I left out accidentally. When I say better I mean more sustain and tonal transference. Lol and when I say sustain I mean how long the string will vibrate to produce a note. And by tonal transference I mean resonance of a certain exotic wood to another such as maple or mahogany.
Whether I’m right or not about the bolts/glue, the neck-through is the best. The neck is esentially an integral piece of the body. Damping will certianly be lowest in that configuration. It will be harder / impossible to repair or modify though. douglw.geo | Oct 10, 2009
