Should I Use TurboTax or a Local Tax Preparer?
It’s my first time filing taxes on my own with my spouse and are not sure whether I should use TurboTax or a local tax preparer. I do want to get the maximum refund so keep that in mind. We both worked for 2 different employment agencies so we have a total of 4 W2 forms. My spouse was unemployed for a while so we also have a tax form for that. We both also attended college. With all this in consideration….. which would be the best way to file our taxes???? If it’s TurboTax…. what kind (Basic, Deluxe, Business, etc) would be the best to file under???

TurboTax.com was ok.
I actually liked TaxAct.com better - advertised on fox news.
Give those a try - either one will take about 20 minutes.

i have only been doing turbo tax.it’s free for your federal and 27.95 for your state if you want it.but that is optional.it’s quick to do and they break it down for you.plus you can still get direct deposit.

I’ve only seen 10,000 B.C. and Spy Kids 3D. 10,000 B.C. was worse, because at least Spy Kids was acceptable for the age level it was aimed at. Little kids don’t discriminate.

this is just the rough short story i’ve just written..give me your opinion about the plot..mind the grammar mistakes..i’ll edit that later..can’t wait to read your opinions!

here’s the story (it’s just a fiction,ok.not a real life story)

Kim just got back from her workplace. she was so
tired that she can even sleep standing up.

"huhhh..what a hectic week for me.."

she had this big research project she have to handle causing
her to stay up 24/7 for months now.luckily,the project
finished successfully today.And she desperately asked for a
holiday.She said she wanted to travel around the
world..hehe..Actually,she’s not.Traveling around the world
means staying at home in her dictionaries.Looks like she’s
still like her teenage days.Naughty and always good in
finding excuses and multiply reasons.She haven’t changed a
bit.Well,except for herself.She’s 27 years old now.Still
single.Childish for her age.She’s not chubby anymore instead
growing up to be a stunningly beautiful woman.Yet,she still
haven’t got any boyfriend mainly because she refuses to go out with them.She’ll create various reasons for not going on the blind dates her friends set up.Or,she’d just play with them.

Deep down,she still haven’t recovered from her past
relationship.or so-called relationship.Apparently,she never
intended to forget her first love.

But now she’s concentrating on her career as a researcher
and barely even got time for herself until she get her sabbatical
holiday approved.She never been this happy
before.Well,except when she’s seventeen.

on her first day of the holiday,she just spend the
time at home looking at a giant pile of mess made by her
all this time.She really need a maid.

after a week at home,she starts going out.First,she went to
the mall to shop some stuffs she’d been longing before.You
can say that she’s quite a shopaholic.

All her friends including her 2 best friends were
overseas.It’s been a long time since they hang out together
and talk about their lives.And she isn’t quite making
friends at her work place considering all her colleagues are
nerds.As she thought.So,she’ll go out on her own.She’s
really a loner,isn’t it?Living in her own world and all.

On the way back home,she rides the train to save
money.ha!!Who knows the train would be so crowded.It’s not
even in weekend!she thought.It’s been a long time since her last train ride to home.She usually go home with her convertible.

after a few stations,she managed to get a sit nearby the
door.Without her realize,she’s asleep along with dozens of
shopping bags.She didn’t realize the train was
already making a turn back to the main station by the time
she woke up.She still has a long way back home.

Listening to her i pod,she looked at the surrounding.It’s not
that crowded now since all the passengers were in their seat
and most of them were sleeping anyway.Then,she saw a young
couple.Maybe they’re in 16 or 17 since they’re still wearing
the school uniforms and they were holding hands??

"huhh..whatever you kids"she mumbled on her own.Then,the
train stopped at the same station she went earlier.If only
she’s not asleep after that,then, she wouldn’t have to be in
this train any longer..

As usual,the door opened and people were rushing by to get a
sit but all the seats were taken by the previous
passenger.She saw this old woman..maybe in her 70s
struggling on her way in..Are this people even notice her?
Without any further ado,she gave the woman her sit.She’s not
being nice but afraid the woman will stumble on her feet if
the train speeds.

So,now she’s back on standing.It’s quite a job to hold on
when you’re holding a giant shopping bags while trying to
get your i pod to switch it off.Suddenly,her i pod dropped
while she’s trying to get it in her jeans pocket.
Luckily,there’s a hand grabbing the i pod and hand it to her.

"There you go miss.."the man gave her a look and smile.

As usual,she didn’t even look at his face and just picked
the i pod quickly.She didn’t want to mess up with this guy and immediately looked away.

"Kimberly Annabella Stewart.."she heard someone called her name.

People never call her by that name.All her friends called
her Kim,,her nickname when she’s a teenager and also her
cyber name.Maybe she’s just hallucinating,considering she’s
really thirsty now and lack of water really can make you feel..

"Kimberly Annabella Stewart!"

She spun around to look at the previous guy who gave her
the i pod.How did he know her name anyway.Does it on her i pod or something.

It takes a while for her to digest the information and look
carefully at the person before her stomach gave a full blast
of roller coaster ride.

It’s him.

"Could that guy be him?"she gave herself a monologue.

The guy must have been aware by her confused and pale look
and approached her.

"Kim.."he called again.

that was the name her friends called her.only it’s not
colleague friends.It’s just the friend from the past..

She now realized he was Gerry before everything went black-

She woke up with a heavy feeling on her head.Her throat feels dry and she need a mirror.

"Ouchhh..what the hell had happened?"she mumbled again with
her hand on her head.

It was like a flash of light the nurse came.She have the
sweet face and didn’t look fierce as she assumed.

"So,how do you feel today miss?"

"Yeah yeah…i feel fine..sort of.Eh,what day is today?What
time?Since when I’m here?"she asked the nurse impatiently.

"It’s been 2 days now.I heard you passed out in the train on
the way back home for dehydration.Your friend came yesterday
and stayed with you until this morning before he had to go
for some urgent call".the nurse carefully replied.

"Okay..hold on!did you just say he??"She’s surprised and
tried to recall back what happened on that day.

Then,the nurse almost dropped her tray when she almost
jumped off the bed.

"what??!hey nurse,what’s his name?i mean,the friend of mine
who..who.."

Her voice trailed off when she finally remembered the voice
calling her on that day.The voice she’d been longing to hear
for a long time.How could she didn’t recognize that face
earlier?It could have been easier to run away and not
meeting him in this most embarrassed way in the whole
world.She can’t believe that she just passed out in front of
that guy!

"..miss…miss..do you hear me?his name is Gerry if I’m not
mistaken"

Now,she felt like fainting again..She need to get out from
here ASAP before he came back.

She asked again the poor nurse when she would be released
and glad to hear that she’ll be released this evening of the
test gave no problem.

Then,she went to the bathroom to look at the mirror.She
looked unhealthy.Pale.Her face is skinny and the bone jaw is
almost visible.Maybe that’s why he can’t recognize her
earlier because she looked totally different from the 17
year old Kim.As far as she remember,she looked chubby and
well,fat.Now,she barely even seen a single fat in her body.
Her ribs are clearly visible and her but didn’t even show
up.And she’s not wearing that glasses anymore thanks to the
laser surgery a few years ago.What a transformation she’d
been through.And of course,they haven’t met in years after
the tragic accident happened.It’s not that tragic
anyway..but tragic enough for her to change everything and
recovering from the trauma is way more harder than anyone
could think.

She finally washed her face and her hands before looking for
a clean towel and rub her hand and face.

Looks like the game is not over yet because when she exit
from the toilet,she found out that the guy she’d been
thinking was standing in front of the door,holding a bouquet
of fresh flowers.

She realized that her mouth was hanging open before she
closed them back..hehe

"I’m sorry for not recognizing you at the first place"

he started the conversation after a long silence.It’s like
the time has stopped or something.She barely can’t hear a
pin drop.

"Yeah..me too"she croaked.

"I mean,look at you.You’ve changed a lot Kim…A lot"

"Well,i almost couldn’t recognize you either.You seemed grown
up".Finally she find the right word to say.

She didn’t want him to know that she’d been suffering all
this time for him.Just to forget him and he came back now??

"I think you better sit down first. You looked like you’re
about to pass out again.Luckily,I can catch you up the last
time coz you’re so light."He tried to make a joke.As usual,she
didn’t laugh or smile.

What??he catch me the last time.That must be embarrassing.

He must have look at her burning cheek when tried to change
the conversation.He told her about the meeting on the train
and her still ignoring people and all.He asked her again what
she was doing now..

She must have been fallen asleep again when he talked to her
that afternoon coz he left her a note beside the bed.

"Never change huh cutie?Still sleeping like a baby even
though you’re obviously 27 now..hehe..will call you later.I
already take your phone number inside your bag..and by the
way..I LOVE YOU"

What????????!!!!!!!!After all this time he’s still
saying
that to her?Didn’t he remember what happened 10 years
ago??Didn’t he remembered how he left her there after she
finally able to express all my feelings toward him?Did he
ever remember that?After all the humiliation and
mortification she have to face with all their friends.All of
them?Did he ever felt that?In front of Pam and Alice?Can he
imagined what people said about her when she finished my
sentence?Can he imagine what she’d been called?And did he
know that sheI have to start my life all over again before she
could actually got a job?Did he knew that?All he knows is
saying that stupid things all over again.She can’t take it
anymore!

3 days later,Kim went home knowing her nightmares are
going to be back again.After all those years she realized
that still haven’t get over him yet.But what can she do
about that now?

She already know the answer 10 years ago..She get it already
but then,when he came back like this..things are getting
like the old time again.Suddenly,all the memories came back
like a film negatives.Some of them are very clear and some
of them still blurred in her mind.That night,she went asleep
clutching the old diaries where all the feelings came back
live in her mind once again..

The next day,she woke up hearing the alarm clock..maybe from
the neighbors.It takes a while before she figured out that
it was actually her phone ringing.She was too sleepy to read
the caller id and just picked up the phone instead.Who could
have wake her at 8 am in the morning on her holiday??

"hullo.."she mumbled,as usual

"hello,can I speak to Kim please.."

Suddenly,she’s startled to hear that familiar voice.It was
him!So,it’s true about him taking her phone number huh?

He started the one hour conversation and finally asked Kim
out.To catch up each others’ life,as he said.
She had no choice but to accept the offer thinking that he
might call again and again.And she didn’t want that to
happen..hohhhh..

Later that night,she found herself digging the closet
finding suitable clothing for that stupid dinner.After 15
minutes of hard work,she found herself her favorite shirt
and khaki pants(it’s uncomfortable to wear jeans in front of
him).It’s like going on a first date or something.But
still.It’s not a date..

When she arrived at the fancy restaurant(didn’t know that
this guy even had a taste like this),he’s already waiting
for her patiently at the table nearby the large window.Nice
view!I didn’t know what did he see in me.Well,she knows she’s not
wearing an appropriate dress and all.Wearing sneakers never
harm anyone,right?

She heard her stomach make a grumbling noise and realized she
haven’t eat anything today yet.No wonder she’s so skinny.Now,she
really misses her old body back.The 17 years old Kim seems
happy..not like her now.She looked like people with anorexia
or something.

"Can we take orders now?"he asked her politely.

Since when this guy was being polite with her?As far as she
remembered,he never talk nicely to her.In fact,they’re
always teasing each other..10 years back that
is.Now,everything seems different.

"So,what have you become Ger?"She used to called him Ger.

Now,it seems awkward calling him by that name.This is
because he wasn’t the old Gerry anymore.In fact,he looked
hot.She immediately cut the thought out of her mind.

"I’m a 3D animator".he replied with a slight smile on his
face.That’s cute!

"Owhhhh…seems like you have what you’ve been dreaming of
right?Being a 3D animator and all"

"Yeahh..you’re right.except for one thing".his face look
solemn all of the sudden.His expression,is however,can’t be
read.Is this Gerry that she’d known before?10 years
ago,he’ll tell her everything,,almost anything.

"What’s that thing?"

"Being with someone whom I love"

*cough*

that made she choked on her salad.what???! and she thought he’s already married.What happened to her fiancee he always mentioning?

"eh,i thought you’re married with Jennifer..what happened?"

his expressionless face suddenly turned out to be moody all
of the sudden and she knew she had said the wrong
word..oooopsss..

"I’m sorry to ask you that.You don’t need to answer
that".She said reluctantly.

"ermmm..never mind.We’re going to tell everything happened
in our lives anyway..Let me start"

You can tell that she just lose her appetite to eat that
delicious meal to hear what he’s saying.She’s always been like that.

"Actually,I didn’t get married with her."she tried not to
show her shocked face as he spoke.

"We’re getting so closed on that day before I realized one
thing.I didn’t love her.I thought I could love her
after..after I made the decision about you..I really thought
I can do that".he started to get emotional.

Kim,on the other hand,stood there like a statue listening
to the confession.Tears are just starting to flow..

"I really forced myself at that time.I concentrate on my
studies and tried to forget you.Every time there’s a message
arrived,I thought it was you and it’s actually not.And I
realized that you’re not coming back.I tried to contact your
cell phone,but you already changed the number and even your
best friends didn’t know your current number.Then,everything
starts to crumble in front of me.I started to isolate myself
from the crowd and starts living in my own world.I was being
you,munie!I remembered to tease you about being inside the
snow globe and I’m staying in that kind of world now.I don’t
even know myself anymore.I can’t even find you during all
the KEX gatherings.It’s like you’re disappearing or
something.I have asked so many people,but they themselves
didn’t know where are you.It seems like you’re dead to me.I
started to realized that I had lose the girl I love the most
just because I can’t love her because of the stupid family
arrangement.Just because she finally summoned her courage to
tell me that she really loves me.I left her at that
point.The point which can make a whole lot of differences if
I didn’t done that.I shouldn’t have left that
girl.Suddenly,all the memories came by like a flood.Memories
about her that haunts me until today.And when I met her
now,she had changed dramatically,because of my fault.I am so
sorry Kim..I didn’t mean to hurt you so much.It’s just
that I’m so stupid and immature and dumb to realized the
consequences after that.But I just want you to know that I
still love you and in fact the love is growing for the past
10 years.I’m not sure what makes me found you in the
train.but I think we’re destined for each other…. "

"okay..that’s enough!!"Kim snapped harshly.

She didn’t know how much tears have been produced but she
just can’t take it anymore.How could he have done that to
her so much?Maybe the fact that he’s still love her is
true.but that doesn’t mean he can get away that
easily.There’s just no way!

"I think I better get going.."her voice trembling as she
made her way out of the restaurant.She just couldn’t take
that explanation anymore.She couldn’t digest any of this.It’s the best for them not to see each other anymore.

She tried to walk away as fast as she could to her car
across the road.She didn’t care when he tried calling her
name and shouting something she couldn’t heard.Then,she saw
the bright light coming from the side of the road.Maybe it’s
a spotlight.Or is it a car?

Then,everything when blurred.After she saw the bright
light,she heard a loud bang from the nowhere.She couldn’t
think of anything else.What is up with that loud noise
anyway?She heard a weird sound rushing towards her.Among the
noises,she barely hear the sound of someone calling her name…

When Gerry finished saying his words,Kim just got out from
the restaurant hurriedly.He called her name several times
but she just didn’t hear that.In fact,she’s on her way back
to her car.He must catch her.or else,he might not see that
woman again for the rest of his life.

But then,he saw a lorry coming across the road and it was
way fast.There’s a fat chance the lorry can’t see the skinny
Kim in the dark.Plus,she’s wearing a black shirt.

Everything went so fast when he tried to called her back.The
collision just happened in front of his very eyes!!
He doesn’t know what to do but to just ran towards her and
grab her tightly..

"Oh my god..wake up!!"

"Kim!!wake up!you have to wake up!I’m not finished yet.."

he can feel the tears running like a Niagara fall but he
didn’t care.All that matters now is her safety and that
didn’t look good.

"please wake up!i need you!i have been waiting the moment to
meet you back so,wake up!Therese lots more to talk about!!"

He saw her hand is still moving but she’s definitely badly
injured.The blood is everywhere!And where is the ambulance??
He saw her eyes opened a little and he thinks she’s trying
to say something.Oh god.Don’t let her die.He couldn’t cope that.He already loses her once.

"there’s something you need to know".her voice croaked.

"Kim..please stay with me.Don’t die yet!"he’s pleading like
a child wanting a lollipop.

"do you know that…..i…really…really love you?"it seems
hard for her saying that words for the second time.
but this is not a perfect timing really.

"i know..i know..from the beginning.but please stay with
me..please.."

"I’m tired Ger..I’m really tired of all these".

"no you can’t give up now!"

he can feel a crowd of people surrounding them hearing him
shouting like a maniac.

"can someone please call an ambulance!!???"

"i love you.."

that’s all he heard before she closed her eyes back..

3 years later…

It was not a perfect morning for Gerry because as he wake
up,the sound of the noise from the neighbor crashes his
Sunday morning.

he’s been busy for the days of the week.So,he couldn’t be
disturbed on the weekend..

"what a morning.."

he immediately wake up and take a warm shower before heading
downtown for breakfast.A usual weekend routine he had for
years now.

The weather seems nice and sunny today.

"Perfect for a vacation!"he thought.

after the breakfast,he went to the usual place he would
hangout on the weekend,hospital.Maybe it sounds weird for
normal people.But for him,it’s like a home sweet home.

After saying hi to the nurses working in the morning
shift,he went straight to the room.

It was huge.Like a master bedroom in a house complete with a
large plasma TV,furniture,toilet and bathroom and also a
small kitchen.It was like a small apartment.But,it’s a
hospital in reality.He tiptoed and enter the room just like
not to disturb the people who’s sleeping in there.

At the huge rack,Therese lots of book collection from
childhood until adulthood.all the CDs and DVDs were kept
neatly below them.it was just like a small house.

"Hey,I brought you some more books..but I’m not going to
read this today because I’m too tired and I need a good
sleep..Mind if I join you?"

Whoever passing the room must have thought he was talking to
himself.Well,he’s not.In fact,he was talking to his beloved
wife.

He then put the book aside and take a nap beside the person sleeping
on the bed.No signs of her waking up to reply to him.But,she can definitely heard him clearly.

The accident 3 years ago made Kim in comatose condition.He
still remember when the doctor said she’d never wake up
maybe for the rest of her life.But he would never give
up.The doctor said if their family support the patient
mentally and physically,the chances of her waking up maybe a
little bit higher.a little.but,he never gave up.He spent
almost his time watching over her and eventually starts
talking and reading books and articles for her.He knew she’d
listen because the doctor said so.

He began to tell her every single detail what happened in
his life..just like he intended to..and he also started to
decorate the room just like a home to make sure she’s
comfortable.This act has inspire many people from that
hospital.Even the doctor was impressed with the
couple.They’re so strong.If only that accident didn’t occur
than they would live happily ever after.but,it’s been 3
years now and still no change from her.she’s still looks
like that.that cute face almost haven’t change for 3
years.and yet she’s still sleeping like a sleeping beauty waiting for her prince charming to come and kiss her.But,it’s just a fairy tale.

Even though she might not waking up forever,the most
important thing is he already know the answer.they both know
it perfectly well and all the questions are now pretty
well-answered coz it only narrows to one thing,they love
each other…

sorry if it is too long..

Ok, the thing with this story is that it’s very straight forward. You just told the story in simple sentences.You told her history, what was happening now, and everything just in sentences, without any description. Have a little diversity in your sentences so your readers don’t get bored. Write them with vivid description, so the readers can see the picture in their minds. They can imagine all that’s going on, well that’s the beauty of reading, right? Make people go through emotion in the story, make them laugh, cry, feel connected with the character. No, it’s not too long, I find you might want to make it longer! That way, in the beginning the readers could fall in love with the character, so when she feels something, so will everyone else, That’s the warmth and love and reading, you can go through those emotions. Okay, I hope this helped, good luck with writing!

How can I tell her???? :(?
Okay, my sister is pregnant, has no job, and is living with me(im 16) and my mom. I am very excited to be an aunt. I dont really know how my sister will be with the baby but by the way she is talking, she sounds irresponsible. She will be 21 in march (baby is due Febrauary 20), so I can see her going out and drinking. She is already talking about going out and getting drunk (exact words) two weeks after giving birth. In my eyes that is irresponsible. Also since she has no money or a job, I think she should be saving money for an emergency like the baby needing diapers or wipes or something of the sort. So, at her baby shower she got money for the baby and put it in the piggy bank for the baby. Then not an hour after she took money out to spend it on herself. I understand the baby isnt here yet, but she should be saving money. Plus it is the BABY"S money. Not hers. Can someone please tell me how I can tell her the way I feel. No, you really don’t know how your sister will be with her baby. What you do know is that, right now, she is not out drinking and doing drugs and harming her baby. That’s a good thing. At 21, she’s still young… just old enough to get to the bar the first time and party. You’ll understand that when you’re 21 yourself. I do know this isn’t coming from a place of jealousy… but of concern. But reality is that she is an adult and will have to be responsible for making her own decisions. 21 is young to be having a baby, true… and it may be difficult for her.

Understand that she may not make all the same decisions you do… but if the baby, when it arrives, is happy, healthy and well cared for and she is stepping up to the plate and not taking advantage of you or your mom then she is doing her job - even if she does go out to get drunk once in awhile. People do not stop having their own needs simply because they become a parent, even if they do set them aside more often in favour of the needs of their children.

As to predicting your sister’s future parenting skills… I had my first child as a single parent at 22. At the time, I had never stayed at one job more than 5 months, had no education past grade 12, had never lived in one apartment more than 3 months. I had no job… had left mine about two months before I found out I was pregnant… and I even had a friend tell me she didn’t think I’d make a good parent… I was too footloose and irresponsible. Reality is that I was young… and didn’t have to be any more responsible than I was at the time.

I now, still single, have two teenage boys… a mortgage, horses, a career, two cars and all the trappings, bills, and extras that any other household has. My friend has had to eat her words… and has admitted that she was wrong.

I went out to the bar ten days after my first was born too. It didn’t hurt him or me… and did not set a trend for a lifetime of irresponsible parenting and partying.

Stop borrowing trouble… wait for it to arrive first. Enjoy anticipating being an aunt and enjoy your niece or nephew when he or she is born. Worry about your sister’s parenting when and if she actually proves herself irresponsible.

Sounds to me like your mom did a pretty good job with you. I see no reason to suspect she did less well with your sister.

A supernatural witness points to Muhammad’s prophethood
When he was three years old, two angels came and took out his heart from his chest, cleaned it with ice water, put it back and left. In doing so they supposedly prepared him for his mission on earth.

Another story which comes via Muslim Tradition mentions that after the death of his grandfather Abdu-Mutalib, Muhammad went to visit a Catholic monk with his uncle Abu-Talib. It is reported that the monk saw a cloud specifically protect Muhammad from the sun. It was then that he knew that he would be someone special.
. At the age of twenty-five he married Khadijah, a widow fifteen years his senior, who was in fact his employer. The marriage was a happy one, and two boys and four girls were born to them, though the two boys did not live to a mature age. Khadija died after twenty-five years of marriage to Muhammad. During that time Muhammad never took another wife.

Another proof of his prophethood, according to Muslims, stems from the fact that Muhammad prophesied events in the future, which then came to pass later on. Only a prophet of God could know what was going to happen in the future, and therefore Muhammad must be a prophet. Yet, the only ‘real’ prophecy recorded, which Muslims attribute to Muhammad is that found in Sura 30:1-4, where it is written:

A.L.M. The Roman Empire has been defeated. In a land close by; but they (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious. Within a few years. With Allah is the decision, in the past and in the future: on that day shall the Believers rejoice.
This passage refers to the defeat of the Byzantines in Syria by the Persians under Khusran Parvis (in A.D. 615), six years before the Hijra.

The defeat of the Persians should take place soon- "in a small number of years." In light of this prediction, Abu-Bakr undertook a bet with Ubai-ibn-Khalaf that this prediction would be fulfilled within three years. But he was corrected by Muhammad, who stated that the "small number" is between three and nine years (Al-Baizawi).

Muslims tell us that the Byzantines overcame their enemies within seven years. However, the fact is that the Byzantines defeated Persia in AD 628 (Al-Baizawi’s commentary). That was twelve years after the prediction of Muhammad. Consequently, this passage does not qualify as a prophecy, particularly as the time between the prophecy and fulfilment was far too short, and in addition the event was easily predictable. The odds were only 50/50.

The other ‘prophecies’ which Muslims point to refer to Muhammad’s victories and those relating to the Qur’an itself. It is nearly impossible to establish whether these prophecies were said before their fulfilment. Besides, like the previous example, they were either easily predictable, or just war- propaganda. In this event George Bush might be called a prophet too, for he predicted that the Gulf-coalition would win the war with Iraq.

Nobody’s a prophet. To be a prophet, one must have a two part conversation with God and not be crazy. Seeing that God does not exist, it fallows that anyone who has a two part conversation with God is crazy, and not a prophet.

In addition to this, prophecy, the predicting of the future, is simply a matter of being just vague enough that no matter what happens, your predictions can be interpreted as having come true.

A cool breeze drifted off the ocean and stirred Kali’s hair as she stood measuring the distance. It was about fifteen yards of loose, sandy dirt, which then dropped two hundred feet to sharp rocks and crashing waves. Not a pleasant fall.
She refused to think of herself plummeting to such a death. Kali took a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself; instead her heart fluttered nervously. Her whole body shook in anticipation.
"You have seven seconds," a voice whispered, tickling her ear. "Now, go!"
In answer Kali took off at a dead sprint, right towards the cliff’s edge.
Adrenaline coursed through her veins, and her lips tightened in determination. As she ran, her foot slipped on the loose dirt, and she barley caught herself. Quickly recovered, now only her rhythm was hurt. <i>This is going to mess up my whole take off,</i> she thought angrily. To correct this, she decided to take off with her left foot rather then her right. A stutter step could loose her time, if only very little. She knew how crucial it could prove.
Closing in on the drop, the girl leaned dangerously forward and spread her arms wide. Just as her foot landed on the edge it gave way and crumbled. A sharp cry touched her ears just before the sound of the rushing wind from her fall.<i>I have to shift,</i> <<<<It was a risk she had to take; either chance a broken limb or sure death.
