How do I "plug" a hole in an injected turkey?
I have a 13 pound turkey that I will either grill (weather permitting) or roast in the oven. I injected it with a garlic, butter, and herb mixture about 36 hours before cooking, BUT: I accidentally pushed the injector through the lower breast into the front of the cavity where the giblets had been, and some marinade began oozing out.
I’m wondering if I do nothing, will all the marinade in that side of the breast drain out as it cooks, thus leaving that side of the bird dry? And even so, what can I do about it at this point?
Plug it with tin foil if possible.
Other then that I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

cauterize (burn) it would be my guess.

You can plug the hole with a slice of vegetable. Try a clove of garlic roughly the same size as the hole, preferably a tight fit. This will seal off the leak and provide moisture and flavor that matches your marinade. Rub the plug with butter after the hole is filled to prevent burning. Good luck!

Shove a clove or a piece of garlic (depending on the size of the hole) in there.
I do that alot when I am cooking chicken and the garlic always seals it up.
