Toy Story (1995)

Plot: A little boy named Andy loves to be in his room, playing with his toys, especially his doll named “Woody”. But, what do the toys do when Andy is not with them, they come to life. Woody believes that he has life (as a toy) good. However, he must worry about Andy’s family moving, and what Woody does not know is about Andy’s birthday party. Woody does not realize that Andy’s mother gave him an action figure known as Buzz Lightyear, who does not believe that he is a toy, and quickly becomes Andy’s new favorite toy. Woody, who is now consumed with jealousy, tries to get rid of Buzz. Then, both Woody and Buzz are now lost. They must find a way to get back to Andy before he moves without them, but they will have to pass through a ruthless toy killer, Sid Phillips.

How do you get human baby poop out of the carpet?
My husband was watching the kids today (3 year old girl and 16 month old boy) while I went out for a bit with my Mom (who we live with). We were gone for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. When I got back I asked where the children were. He said downstairs (basement where we all sleep and live) watching cartoons. I came downstairs with him figuring it’s like every other time and it’s going to be relax time and put them to bed in 1/2 hour. Instead my daughter (who is potty trained but still has the occasional accident) had an accident in poop. Not only that my son also had a poopy diaper that my husband seems to have overlooked/missed. We came downstairs to the carpet smeared in a 2×2 foot area of poop and poop all over the big wall by the toys. I didn’t know what to do being this angry and couldn’t believe it, I started to laugh (kids went upstairs with Daddy before I lost it…he figured it was best for all of them). Not only that but it seems that my son got the toothpaste and coated the floor and the wall with that too. So for the last 1 1/2 hours I took the toys and disinfected them, just in case, and cleaned up the toothpaste and poop on the wall. Now my biggest question is HOW can I get the poop off the carpet AND have it hygienic again? It’s unbelievable. It’s almost like the time I went out before our son was born and there was permanent marker EVERYWHERE. I don’t know what it is with my husband who is a great husband and father, cleaning and cooking and changing diapers and taking care of the kids pretty well. The odd time this HUGE thing happens and I seriously lose it (not angrily). I think it’s the only way to just let it go??? Anyone got a story like this? HOW on earth did you clean it? I’m trying peroxide right now (worked with the toothpaste) and the carpet isn’t stained…but I want hygiene again too

Just a side note, they finger painted today earlier with paint on paper and I’m starting to wonder if my son started it with taking his diaper off – something he does when he poops. I can see my daughter joining in the fun. I have NEVER seen anything like this in my life!

I had a similar incident last night, my 2 year old woke up 3 times in the middle of the night, then the 3rd time, at about 4.30am, he began doing some funky sounding farts (he has been poorly but was over the worst) then all of a sudden yellow diarrhea started pouring out of the top of his nappy (front and back) and out the sides (it kind of reminded me of a volcano erupting there was that much of it spilling out that quickly!). I quickly carried him through to the lounge to sort him out and left a long trail of poo behind us, not to mention a big puddle of it around where I was cleaning him up.
Once I’d sorted him out I got to work on the carpet. Firstly scraped up all the excess with reams of kitchen towel. Then I went over the areas with a mixture of detergent and hot water, giving it a good scrub. Then again I went over the areas with a thick layer of carpet stain remover, and scrubbed. Then for peace of mind I got some antibacterial household spray and used about half a bottle up dousing everywhere the poo had come close to touching, before scrubbing again, and finally vacuuming over the area. Not sure if the last part was really necessary but better safe than sorry!

Is that a star satellite or a planet in my sky??
I live in Delta BC which is not to far from Vancouver. Can someone please tell me what it is I see every clear night in the sky. It is very bright and does not move I always thought that satellites moved but my brother in law (not at all that bright) says that I am worng ( he always says I am wrong) when I say it is either a planet (venus) or a star (supernova) because satellites move they don’t stay there for us to marvel at. Please help me.
There are geostationary satellites, but they orbit (at the same rate that the Earth rotates, so not really stationary) at about 22,000 miles out and are not visible to the naked eye.
All satellites visible to the naked eye move across the sky, generally in minutes. These will be unmistakable.
What you are seeing is Venus. It is often as bright, but half the time visible early morning rather than evening.
You should watch the sky more often. Venus is a common sight. It is simply that this appararition has coincided with the northern hemisphere spring and people see it later in the evening than they would in winter.
It still amazes me that the brightest object in the sky suddenly captures people’s attention when it is a common sight. (It is also one of the most common objects reported as a UFO).

If it is about 40 degree up from where the sun ought to be after it sets, due west, then what you are looking at is Venus.
Supernova that are close enought to be visible with the naked eye are very rare.

A supernatural witness points to Muhammad’s prophethood
When he was three years old, two angels came and took out his heart from his chest, cleaned it with ice water, put it back and left. In doing so they supposedly prepared him for his mission on earth.
Another story which comes via Muslim Tradition mentions that after the death of his grandfather Abdu-Mutalib, Muhammad went to visit a Catholic monk with his uncle Abu-Talib. It is reported that the monk saw a cloud specifically protect Muhammad from the sun. It was then that he knew that he would be someone special.
. At the age of twenty-five he married Khadijah, a widow fifteen years his senior, who was in fact his employer. The marriage was a happy one, and two boys and four girls were born to them, though the two boys did not live to a mature age. Khadija died after twenty-five years of marriage to Muhammad. During that time Muhammad never took another wife.
Another proof of his prophethood, according to Muslims, stems from the fact that Muhammad prophesied events in the future, which then came to pass later on. Only a prophet of God could know what was going to happen in the future, and therefore Muhammad must be a prophet. Yet, the only ‘real’ prophecy recorded, which Muslims attribute to Muhammad is that found in Sura 30:1-4, where it is written:
A.L.M. The Roman Empire has been defeated. In a land close by; but they (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious. Within a few years. With Allah is the decision, in the past and in the future: on that day shall the Believers rejoice.
This passage refers to the defeat of the Byzantines in Syria by the Persians under Khusran Parvis (in A.D. 615), six years before the Hijra.
The defeat of the Persians should take place soon- "in a small number of years." In light of this prediction, Abu-Bakr undertook a bet with Ubai-ibn-Khalaf that this prediction would be fulfilled within three years. But he was corrected by Muhammad, who stated that the "small number" is between three and nine years (Al-Baizawi).
Muslims tell us that the Byzantines overcame their enemies within seven years. However, the fact is that the Byzantines defeated Persia in AD 628 (Al-Baizawi’s commentary). That was twelve years after the prediction of Muhammad. Consequently, this passage does not qualify as a prophecy, particularly as the time between the prophecy and fulfilment was far too short, and in addition the event was easily predictable. The odds were only 50/50.
The other ‘prophecies’ which Muslims point to refer to Muhammad’s victories and those relating to the Qur’an itself. It is nearly impossible to establish whether these prophecies were said before their fulfilment. Besides, like the previous example, they were either easily predictable, or just war- propaganda. In this event George Bush might be called a prophet too, for he predicted that the Gulf-coalition would win the war with Iraq.

Nobody’s a prophet. To be a prophet, one must have a two part conversation with God and not be crazy. Seeing that God does not exist, it fallows that anyone who has a two part conversation with God is crazy, and not a prophet.
In addition to this, prophecy, the predicting of the future, is simply a matter of being just vague enough that no matter what happens, your predictions can be interpreted as having come true.

A guy has an "online girlfriend", his ‘e-mail kanojo’. They decide to meet and wind up working for a company that hosts the web site where the first met. Their job is to track down people using the web site to try to sell drugs or seduce minors or other illegal things.
Until Death Do Us Part.
Not the main character, but his partner who is in almost every chapter. He drives the van with all the computer equipment in it. He helps the swordsman with night vision, electromagnetic pulses to knock out enemy surveillance and other goodies. They are fighting (among others) a computer firm that wants to take the brain of a girl to make computers that can predict the future.
Also, I don’t know if this is to your taste, but one of the major themes of Gantz is that the people behind it all have the most incredible technology, including artificial immortality, teleportation, perfect duplication of items, objects and even people, and instant healing or regeneration, even from severed limbs. The main characters are in too much trouble to even think through the ramifications of such technology becoming available on present-day Earth, but as the reader I find it fascinating to speculate on and this is part of the appeal of the series to me.
