I need to find a way to edit or convert my m2ts files so adobe premiere stops lagging?
My video camera makes high defintion m2ts files which are of high quality, however, my laptop isn’t really good enough to allow me to edit smoothly using Adobe premiere elements.
Before this I tried using pinnacle studios but that lagged even more, and so recently I tried converting the m2ts files into many different formats, here are the results:
avi - doesn’t work - no sound
mpg - doesn’t work - no picture
wmv - works but creates a laggy effect
mp4/mpv - worked the best and I thought I had found a solution - the videos were of much less quality but were now about a fifth of the size, but when I opened Adobe up to edit them I actually found it lagged much much more with these files than it did with the HD m2ts files.
I couldn’t find video converting software that just turned m2ts files into lower quality m2ts files but would that work, does anyone have any idea of what I should do?

You already answered your own question: "laptop isn’t really good enough to allow me to edit"… use a computer that exceeds the minimum requirements for MTS file editing.

Little Dog | Dec 23, 2009

You can convert the HD video to common file. I recommend you a HD Video Converter which can convert HD TS, HD MTS, HD M2TS, HD MPEG, HD WMV, HD MPG, HD MP4, QuickTime HD MOV, HD H.264, HD RM video, etc.

It also can edit the HD movies, such as CUT a video clip, crop the movie, merge several files into one file and so on.

Hope it helps!

Magic in the ancient world?
Many of us have heard a little about Celtic teachings, and its base in modern day Wicca. Thats a good starting point, but I’d like to learn more about the various ways people related to the supernatural throughout history independent of organized religion. What were some of the magic practices (witchcraft, shamanism, herb-lore it could have been many different things to different people) in the ancient world, say the bronze age. What do we know about Egypt, Greece or Babylon and their spells for instance?

P.S sorry if this is worded a little awkwardly!

The study of magic in the Greco-Roman world is a branch of the disciplines of classics, ancient history and religious studies. In the ancient psycholinguistic world of the Greeks and Romans (the Greco-Roman world), the public and private rituals associated with religion are accepted by historians and archaeologists to have been a part of everyday life. Examples of this phenomenon are found in the various state and cult Temples, Jewish Synagogues and in the early Christian cathedrals and churches. These were important hubs for the ancient peoples of the Greco-Roman world that were representative of a connection between the heavenly realms (the divine) and the earthly planes (the dwelling place of humanity). This context of magic has become an academic study especially in the last twenty years.[1] Magic is generally seen as "any attempt to control the environment or the self by means that are either untested or untestable, such as charms or spells. There are plenty of books for sell, that have a better perspective of things.

In Ancient Egypt (Kemet) Heka was the divine manifestation of Magick.

"Heka literally means activating the Ka, the aspect of the soul which embodied personality. Egyptians thought activating the power of the soul was how magic worked. "Heka" also implied great power and influence, particularly in the case of drawing upon the Ka of the gods. Heka acted together with Hu, the principle of divine utterance, and Sia, the concept of divine omniscience, to create the basis of creative power both in the mortal world and the world of the gods." Wikipedia

"Egyptians believed that with the help of heka, they could influence the world of the gods and gain protection, healing and support." (Wikipedia)

The only concept of evil/illegal magic was magic used against the Pharaoh
? Kirra Blackhart ? | Jan 06, 2010

The Graeco-Roman world was most known for its curses inscribed on tablets (called "katadesmoi").
Also, the Greek Magical Papyri are a very important magical text of the ancient world.

Greece was always big into all sorts of Magic. Divination (oracles anyone?), curses, love, bindings. Name it and they did it!

Egypt was also very into Magic. There are countless texts and frescos depicting magical methods. The most well known book is the Book of the Dead (or as it is actually called "The Book of Coming Forth by Day") which has all kinds of magical methods they used mainly for the aid of the dead (since the afterlife was of great importance to them).
Also, Egyptian Magic was bound to the clergy meaning all other "users" were outlawed so that neither the clergy’s power would be opposed nor the Pharaoh’s life threatened.

how come?

Actually, he played Rudy Giuliani shortly after 9/11 when his popularity was still pretty high. The movie, entitled "Rudy" if I recall, did not portray Giuliani as a saint but on balance it gave a flattering portrayal.

Quite simple: Because counter to everything you are taught in Bible School….and High School and on your Mommy’s knee, people ARE judged by the way they look.
Certainly they are judged by First Appearances, anyway.
James Woods looks like a sleaze ball…….therefore: villain.
Denzel Washington’s a big, handsome, cool dude……..therefore: hero. Least wise until "Training Day," when some white honky filed a law suit, claiming reverse discrimination.

He was stereotyped early in his career. Many actors turn down roles, or quit them so they won’t be ‘typed.’ That’s why Sean Connery quit the James Bond films. He wanted to be more than Bond.

Close Call, Part 1, Draft 1
A cool breeze drifted off the ocean and stirred Kali’s hair as she stood measuring the distance. It was about fifteen yards of loose, sandy dirt, which then dropped two hundred feet to sharp rocks and crashing waves. Not a pleasant fall.
She refused to think of herself plummeting to such a death. Kali took a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself; instead her heart fluttered nervously. Her whole body shook in anticipation.
"You have seven seconds," a voice whispered, tickling her ear. "Now, go!"
In answer Kali took off at a dead sprint, right towards the cliff’s edge.
Adrenaline coursed through her veins, and her lips tightened in determination. As she ran, her foot slipped on the loose dirt, and she barley caught herself. Quickly recovered, now only her rhythm was hurt. This is going to mess up my whole take off, she thought angrily. To correct this, she decided to take off with her left foot rather then her right. A stutter step could loose her time, if only very little. She knew how crucial it could prove.
Closing in on the drop, the girl leaned dangerously forward and spread her arms wide. Just as her foot landed on the edge it gave way and crumbled. A sharp cry touched her ears just before the sound of the rushing wind from her fall.I have to shift, <<<<It was a risk she had to take; either chance a broken limb or sure death. A fall at this speed could seriously injure her. She

Mel Kano
A guy has an "online girlfriend", his ‘e-mail kanojo’. They decide to meet and wind up working for a company that hosts the web site where the first met. Their job is to track down people using the web site to try to sell drugs or seduce minors or other illegal things.

Until Death Do Us Part.
Not the main character, but his partner who is in almost every chapter. He drives the van with all the computer equipment in it. He helps the swordsman with night vision, electromagnetic pulses to knock out enemy surveillance and other goodies. They are fighting (among others) a computer firm that wants to take the brain of a girl to make computers that can predict the future.

Also, I don’t know if this is to your taste, but one of the major themes of Gantz is that the people behind it all have the most incredible technology, including artificial immortality, teleportation, perfect duplication of items, objects and even people, and instant healing or regeneration, even from severed limbs. The main characters are in too much trouble to even think through the ramifications of such technology becoming available on present-day Earth, but as the reader I find it fascinating to speculate on and this is part of the appeal of the series to me.

The first two are on onemanga.com, Gantz is on mangahut
