Am I Truly sad or just selfish?
I have constantlyly been depressed for about 2 years now….im just always so sad. I miss evrything that my life used to be, i hate how everything in my life has changed. everything in my life was more or less grate until i entered secondry school…i was looking forward to it so much and sure it is good in some ways but my life has gone more or less down hill sense then. Everything has changed, my friend, like im still friends with them but they have just changed too much, there is so much pressure to kiss guys and sexual stuff and they are all doin all that and we are all only 14(well im almost 14, in less han a month) i miss bein a kid so much i was so happy and i didnt worry so much. Then the start of 2009 was ok until Mchael Jackson died…i wasnt really a fan before he died,(like i liked his music but i didnt no much about him) and i used to sorta believe all that child molesting thing, like i wasnt sure…but when he died and the TV had all these programs i realised what a loving,kind, talented man he was….it hurt me so much, i feel so awful for nit realising how amazing he was while he was alive. Like I love animals,nature and i wana make a difference in this world, i wana help thoses in need, he was all of that…if i had known while he was alive i would have done everything i could to have met him. He is my hero my idol, words cant explain how much i love him and how sorry I am about believen the press….he has inspired me so much changed my life and made me see life differently. Nobody can really understand how i feel though…only me and mabe God. I feel like my life is a waste…the only achievements i have made was when i was younger like winning cross country, drama, art and sports compitions…i dont feel they are much though….i just feel like God is against me…i kept tellin myself…dont worry it will get better, but it hasnt nothing has gotten better, i have so many worries i am constantly under presssure…i hate the way my life has turned out so far. I could tell about 50 other things but i dont have the space…i just cant explain how i feel im always sad…
Am i really depressed? Am i loney,I have plently of friend but i can never talk to anyone about how i feel. Everyone thinks i am this happy trouble free girl but i wish they could know how i truly feel inside. When my mum gets mad and says oh you have such a perfect life, i just wish she could know the pain i go through each day and night.
AM i just being sorry for myself? is that Y God isnt helping me? I know there are people who have life 1000 times worse than me but i just want to be happy again…Im just afraid i am not truely sad, mabe im just selfish???

But it’s not so bad – just you in your house, that’s all. Everything is fine. Just your thoughts and memories that get in the way.

Life is changing all the time, and now you changed from young girl to a young lady, nothing will be the same, your friends change too, try to accept anything that come by such as Michel died, so what! every body die, try to think like a grown up, make new friends, do not spend time alone and just day dream, go out or do something, do not think of boys too much, those kissing and doing that your friends said might not be true, they might make it up just to show that they are popular, study hard and try your best to get to higher study, if you make people around you happy you will feel happy too. Welcome to adolescence, what you are experiencing is perfectly within the realms of normality. Of course you are selfish, but that is also perfectly normal for your age. In my eyes you are still a baby and so it is impossible that you can have wasted your life, it hasnt really begun yet, you are still in training!
During your teens, your hormones are changing and so mood swings are common, as is a fixation on a celebrity, living or otherwise. You are feeling things very intensely, which is also normal, but I feel that you are a thinker and very sensitive, you are also thinking about what your friends are up to and trying to work out your own values.
This is all very hard work and maybe your system has felt rather too much intense emotion and is tired, which maybe why you think you may be depressed.
Make sure that you are eating a good balanced diet and getting enough sleep; have fun with your friends, but dont feel pressured into experiencing anything you are not ready for.
At 14 no youngster is ready to experience sex. It is quite healthy to talk about it and wonder, but stay wondering until your life is free enough and you are mature enough to cope with the added stresses that a sexual relationship brings. Please dont allow yourself to follow friends into casual sex, because like most things in life there is a price to be paid.
Maybe your friends might be secretly glad that you are setting an example and please dont believe all that they brag about.
If you concentrate on your schoolwork, it will stand you in good stead; you say you want to be of service and help those less fortunate, so you will need to get the most you can from your education, it will help you to think in a structured logical way, which will balance your intensity of feeling.
God is helping you "silly sausage", by allowing you to feel emotions, witness what others are doing, think for yourself, and having the opportunities that are being put in front of you, to name just a few things.
It is only by experiencing up and down, good and bad, backwards and forwards, can we learn and understand how to make the most of our lives; there is really no good or bad experience, it is what we gain from the experience that is valuable and can be put to good use.
Read the poem "Footprints" if you havnt already, and if you have, read it again. Even those who have great faith and understanding go through times when it feels like God has left them, but if they hold fast and just ask for more understanding, they soon come out the other side with greater wisdom.
Now, dont be frightened by your moods, they will pass, dont be pressured by friends to experience more than you are completely comfortable with, have fun being you, study hard and COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS.

genetically short tail?
My horse, being an Appaloosa, has a genetically short mane and tail. Now his mane doesn’t bother me, it’s his tail. It’s really short. We do hunters (working our way to jumpers) and the short tail isn’t exactly what a hunter should look like. Is there anything I can do to grow it out, or will it always be short? We don’t show as of right now but I am hoping to do schooling shows in the near future.

Hersheyluva: your Appaloosa probably doesn’t have the genes that causes my horse to have a short tail. There are some Appys that have long tails, and some that have short ones their whole lives. I don’t know much about genetics, but I’m guessing that if a horse has a genetically short tail, then it would be difficult for him to grow out his tail.
Yes, it is definitely possible to be genetic, but there are things you can try. There is an ointment called M.T.G mane and tail. There are also conditioners that work, but they all take time. I would talk to your vet, he/she should have ideas! He is beautiful though! No matter how his tail looks!

haha yes typically appys have short main and tails. My best advice to you is to buy a good fake if your circuit allows. Or knot it and use MTG (mane tail groom, the best product of all time). Otherwise you will be pulling your own hair out trying to get it to grow! lol
ETA* He is very cute btw, I like the spot on his front right lol.
ETA** Also adding rice bran oil to your horses feed can help! My Arab’s mane is down to his chest! I give a cap full at each feeding

I’m not really sure if there’s much you can do to help, as it is a trait really common in Appys.
Not exactly sure of showing rules.. But a fake tail?
I’m just suggesting it becuse I think QH and Paint shows are allowed to?
Eh, I’m more of an Arab person, so fake tails are a no no. I’ve seen tons of Arab people use tail bags to protect the horses tail. Maybe you could try that, and see if it works.

thats the breed for you. I personally wouldnt get a fake tail. Not for jumpers at least. I mean I dont do hunters or jumpers but to me having a fake tail in jumpers is like having a fake tail in barrel racing…. and its just not meant to be. I’ve grown up in apha and aqha western pleasure barns so as you can imagine tails are EVERYTHING to me. My horse has the most beautiful tail ever and people are quite jealous of it but I take very good care of his tail because its very unqiue (its a mixture of blonde, black, and red)
Wash your horse’s tail once every week with shampoo and conditioner. I simply just use mane n tail. Next spray in a leave in conditoner and brush out all the knots with a long tooth comb. Start at the bottom of the tail and work your way up but being very careful to not rip hairs out. I will use infusium leave in conditoner which is available at your local wal mart. Braid your horse’s tail up (loose at the top around the bone and then tighter as you get further down the tail which for you isnt far so just dont braid the tail tight) and put a tail bag on the tail. Every 3 days unbraid the tail and spray in the conditioner, comb it through, braid it, and put it back up.
If that doesnt work then I would just accept the fact that your horse’s tail is going to be short no matter what. Because to me it doesnt make since to spend a couple 100 of dollars on a fake tail to do a timed event.

you just have to take care of it, i have an appaloosa and i LOVE his tail, he’s got a better tail than ALOT of horses
keep it clean, keep him out of places were it could get caught and he could rip hairs out, keep it well groomed, make sure no horses are tugging at it, DO NOT comb it use conditioner and finger comb combs and brushes will pull out hair
