There has been lots of anticipation about SNSD’s Black Soshi concept ever since a tease at the end of their MV for their recent hit single, Oh! but the wait is about to be over!
Starting from March 11th, concept photos of each SNSD member will be unveiled sequentially until the 15th, with Yuri being the first. The Black Soshi concept will be for a new song that’s not included in their Oh! album.
And besides seeing Yuri’s photo getting released first, fans will also be delighted to know that she has recovered from swine flu. SM Entertainment announced on the 11th that Yuri will resume her activities from today onwards and return to hosting Music Core.
But SNSD will be taking a week’s break from performing to prepare for their new track so they will not be appearing from any music shows.

March 5, 2010 – Adam McDowell takes us through the growing frenzy over
the “r-word.” The phrase “retarded” keeps popping up everywhere from
Washington to Hollywood and it’s raising hackles in the United States,
where disability activists are on a mission to have it removed from the
lexicon. But as one might expect, America’s free speech advocates say
the whole matter is being blown out of proportion. The National Post’s
arts team makes their Oscar picks ahead of Sunday’s Academy Awards. Who
will win best actress, best animated film, and best picture? National
Post’s Brad Frenette asks arts writer Ben Kaplan and film critic Chris

long and “paternalistic” Throne Speech, a bizarre proposal to alter the
national anthem and Thursday's federal budget — which raises a serious
question: Whatever happened to fiscal conservatism?

2te Halbzeit Bayern – HSV 1:0
#22 Butt
#21 Lahm – #6 Demichelis – #28 Badstuber – Contento
#1 Rost
#20 Demel – #3 Rozehnal – #5 Mathijsen – #17 Boateng
#8 Ze Roberto – #14 Jarolim
#15 Trochowski – #11 Elia
#16 Berg – #10 Petric
Torun, Rincon, Aogo, Tesche und Pitroipa neben Amateur Dettmann auf der Bank.
Moinsen.
FC Bayern München: Butt – Lahm, van Buyten, Demichelis, Badstuber – Robben, van Bommel, Schweinsteiger, Ribery – Gomez, T. Müller, Trainer: van Gaal
AC Florenz: S. Frey – Comotto, Kröldrup, Felipe, Pasqual – Montolivo, Bolatti – Marchionni, Jovetic, Vargas – Gilardino, Trainer: Prandelli

Joel Lindpere is looking like an answer in central midfield. Signed as a left winger, Lindpere was given the chance at the Disney Classic to play in central midfield, where he has played previously in his career, and he was thoroughly impressive with his relentless work rate and sharp passing. He's not a classic playmaker, but he can help the Red Bulls win the battle in the middle.
"He was a different class," Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe said of Lindpere's play in the middle. "Central midfield isn't where he hasn't played recently but he could play well there in this league."
——————
Roy Miller may solve the club's long-standing left back woes. Few positions caused more headaches for the Red Bulls in 2009 than left back, but that may no longer be the case now that Costa Rican Roy Miller has emerged as a very strong option at left back. He's dangerous and effective getting forward, but is also solid as a defender so he's not a liability in the back. He's got good size as well so he can handle himself in the final third and penalty area.
He had been touted as a central defender, and saw time on the left wing at the Disney Classic, but left back is where he will make the biggest impact.
——————
The rookie most likely to begin the season as a starter is Tim Ream. That might be tough to believe considering Tony Tchani is on the team, but Ream has thoroughly impressed with his poise, touch, vision and passing ability. Red Bulls coach Hans Backe calls him a prototypical European-style centerback and lauds his passing ability and cerebral approach to the game.
——————
John Agudelo needs to be signed QUICKLY. Six months ago, Agudelo looked like a skinny kid who was several years away from being able to contribute as a pro. Today, he looks like a very different prospect and someone who could be making an impact as early as 2011. Agudelo has filled out physically and is playing with supreme confidence. He's still a bit raw and inconsistent, as you would expect for a player his age, but Agudelo has the look of a future star and just might be the top rookie to emerge from 2010 when it's all said and done. That's if he signs.
——————
The goalkeeper situation is still unresolved. Bouna Coundoul is the starter, but I don't get the impression that the coaching staff is sold on him as the starter. Caleb Patterson-Sewell and Greg Sutton are still vying for the No. 2 spot, with Patterson-Sewell looking like the favorite there. The question at this point is whether the Red Bulls will look to address this position considering the other needs the team still has. Our money is on the club sticking with Coundoul and Patterson-Sewell, at least until the summer.
——————
The Red Bulls are still looking for a right back, forward, central defender and left midfielder. Sounds like they're looking for everything, but certain positions are more pressing concerns.
Forward is a position the club is expected to address, though that address may not come until the summer. As it stands, Macoumba Kandji has been sidelined by a groin injury and there continue to be questions about his toughness and penchant for missing time with minor injuries. When healthy, he's the clear choice to start alongside Juan Pablo Angel, but he hasn't been healthy. If the club really is moving in for Thierry Henry, this might be a position that is left as-is for the time being.
John Wolyniec remains an option, but is looking more like a bench option right now. Connor Chin has looked good and could see minutes if the club doesn't add any more strikers.
At right back, Enar Jaager has impressed as a trialist but still hasn't convinced the club to pull the trigger on a contract. Luke Sassano has been used at right back but looks a touch slow to be a first-choice option there. Chris Albright is still sidelined and it remains unclear whether he will be an option. Then you have Jeremy Hall, who has been used at a variety of positions. He could very well wind up at right back again after spending much of his rookie year there.
Central defense isn't the pressing need it once was thanks to the play of Tim Ream, but don't be surprised if another centerback is brought in. This is particularly true if Kevin Goldthwaite's recovery from off-season surgery winds up taking longer than expected.
Left wing is a position that needs to be addressed if Lindpere is going to wind up in central midfield. Backe can go with Jeremy Hall or rookie Austin Da Luz, but he may be inclined to search the international market. Lindpere could still wind up on the left flank, particularly if Tony Tchani continues to impress and makes himself a viable starting option alongside Seth Stammler. With Tchani, it's more a matter of when, not if he will wind up a starter.
—————-
So what will the starting lineup look like for the 2010 Red Bulls? There are likely to be some new players brought in, but based on what the club currently has, here's a potential starting XI we could see when the season starts a month from now.
—————-Angel———Kandji——————
Lindpere——Stammler—Tchani——–Richards
Miller——–Ream———-Petke————–Hall
———————Coundoul————————

The title you see above are the words that Deon Thompson published on his Twitter feed today in the hours leading up to Senior Night for Carolina Basketball. Every season, I write a post about the graduating seniors from UNC. This season hasn’t been exactly what we expected it to be. It’s been frustrating to say the least, but none of us fans have been as frustrated by it as the players themselves. As I watched the loss column rack up numbers I hadn’t seen in nearly 10 years, my heart ached for Marcus Ginyard, Deon Thompson, and Marc Campbell. How could this be their last season, but then I reminded myself that it’s not about one season or one game. It’s about the journey. It’s about the whole story. It’s about the career. And my goodness what a career those three men have had. They’re all National Champions. They’re all back to back ACC tournament champions. Simply put, they’re all Tar Heels.
I could sit here and tell you about each of them. I could tell you about how Marcus had to give up his real senior year due to injury and watched from the bench as his friends and teammates played for a National Championship, but what you might not have noticed is how much of a cheerleader he was. That when you see pictures of the goofy smiles as the players celebrated in Detroit, Marcus’s smile was the biggest of them all. I don’t think any one of those players could have asked for a better teammate. I could tell you about Marc Campbell who is a Carolina basketball legacy as his father played for the program, too. We haven’t seen much of Marc this season because he’s part of the clean up crew that comes in at the end of blow outs. But, what you don’t know is that the length of his hair has gotten longer and longer every year and that I nearly walked right into him in Chapel Hill once. He’s honestly an incredible ball handler and a very, very underrated point guard. He’s a classic example of someone who probably could have started at some other schools in the country but chose to come to UNC because it’s UNC. And then I could tell you about Deon Thompson. The kid who grew up on the entire opposite side of the country and knew absolutely nothing about Carolina basketball before he decided to become part of the tradition. I could tell you about how his game has improved every season because he has put in the time and the hard work. He doesn’t try to be a player that he’s not. He just tries to be Deon, which is pretty fantastic.
Sure, I could tell you all of that, but instead I’m going to let Deon tell you how much the last four years have meant to him. The following is a speech Deon gave at a dinner for Rams Club (booster organization) Donors, so without further adieu, Deon Thompson, in his own words…
I want to reach out to you all and tell you what you have done for me while also saying thank you!
For me growing up in California, I didn’t know very much about Carolina athletics — much less Carolina Basketball. At home, pro basketball is a bigger deal than college basketball, so I knew about James Worthy, because he played for the LA Lakers. And when Roy Williams made his recruiting visit to my home, I knew I wanted him to be my coach. I thought Carolina would be the best possible place for me to get an education while also playing basketball at the highest level.
What I found out when I got here was that everything at Carolina is done at the highest level. The first fall I was on campus, women’s soccer won a national championship. That spring, Brie Felnagle won the 1500 meters national championship and Justin Ryncavage won the javelin throw national championship. The baseball team went to the College World Series. The women’s basketball team went to the Final Four.
We lost to Georgetown in the NCAA tournament final eight. We were one of the best teams in the entire country…by we weren’t even the best team on our own campus.
We did a little better the next year — we made it to the Final Four. But that same year, field hockey won the national championship. The baseball team went back to the College World Series.
In the fall of 2008, women’s soccer won the national championship — again. That’s their 19th NCAA championship. Do you know how hard it is to find room for 19 banners? The men’s soccer team played for the national championship, and so did the women’s lacrosse team. The baseball team went to the College World Series — again.
A couple weeks ago, my teammates and I stood in the Smith Center and watched them unveil the banner for our 2009 national championship. It reminded me of all the hard work that went into winning that title. But it also reminded me how high the standard is at Carolina.
Since I got here, I’ve gone to Boshamer Stadium and watched Dustin Ackley — the best hitter in college baseball — play. I’ve gone to Kenan Stadium and watched Hakeem Nicks — the best receiver in college football — play. I’ve gone to Carmichael Auditorium and watched Ivory Latta — the best point guard in women’s basketball — play. I know some schools have a great program or maybe even two. But there’s nowhere else that you can walk across campus and see the very best in so many sports on any normal day.
Being a Tar Heel is more than just the Old Well or the fight song or Franklin Street. It’s doing things the right way — in every area. We’ve been the top-ranked ACC school in the Director’s Cup all three years that I’ve been here. But it’s more than winning. We also had 274 student-athletes on the 2009 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
The Rams Club members here gave all of us the opportunity to make that happen. I know there are other benefits to giving a scholarship. You get tickets, or you get a better parking pass, or you get the chance to come to dinners like these. But just know that you did something I appreciate even more: you gave a kid from California a chance to come to Chapel Hill, spend the best four years of my life, and totally understand what it means to say I’m Deon Thompson, and I’m a Tar Heel.
Thanks Marc, Marcus, and Deon for the memories and for showing all of us what it means to be a Tar Heel. It’s been a pleasure.
I was going to post last night but was too busy doing my homework. But your attacks on our coach are a bunch of junk. And since so many of you haters out there want to take your time to post crap about him (who obviously don't know him and probably never met him in your life or who hate him because of his success) I wrote this last night and will post it now. Here is my story for everyone to hear. For the record, Ricky changed my life and is an inspriration, mentor, and role model for me in every way of life, on the field, off the field, and everywhere else in my life.
3 years ago my family was going through very hard times. My family was falling apart, my soccer team was falling apart, and my life was falling apart. There was so much stress in my life that I gave up on things I used to think were important. I gave up on all three of those things. I went to school only when I wanted to. I moved out of my house to get away from everything going on and just stayed over friends houses every night. And I quit soccer all together. I was headed down the wrong direction with the wrong group of people. I realize now that the guys I was hanging with told me they cared about me, but now that I have someone who really does care for me, I know the difference.
I was sitting on the side of the road one day crying because someone in my family just made me feel like crap because I didn't the Olypmic Development Team. Ricky just happened to be driving by. Just because he saw a kid cryng in a soccer uniform, he stopped his car to get out to talk to me. He wanted to see that I was OK. He didn't know me and I didn't know him. He started to ask me what was wrong and for some reason I told him everything that was happening in my life. It felt so easy to talk to him even though I didn't know him. Without knowing much about me he said he would help me. I wanted to believe him so bad but wasn't sure. And just because I was a kid in trouble.
Ricky said that I could come to his practices after school. He didn't say I could play on the team but he said the training was free. He told me I could do that as long as I changed some things in my life and the most important one was doing better in school and going to school at all. I started to go to practices and everything seemed to change. I made a new set of friends there. Because Ricky tells us all the time how important getting good grades is, the kids all ask each other all the time how they are doing in classes. I was embarrassed to tell them I had a 0.8 GPA. Ricky knew the next day. At first i was mad cause I thought the kids ratted me out. But now I realize they really were my friends and they wanted me to do better. Coach sat me down and explained to me that I could change my life with better grades and if I tried really hard I could go to college. He taught me that a college education would open doors to me that would be closed without a good education. He also told me that he liked the way I played and he thought I had a future in soccer and maybe I could even get a scholarship. He talked to me about the kinds of jobs I could get and the things I could do later in life. And that day I made a change.
A few years ago I had a 0.8 GPA. On my last report card I got a 4.3 GPA in all honors classes. Over the past few years, Ricky has had people come in to talk to us about different things we can do in our lives and different careers. During the Vegas trip, he had a group of engineers come in and talk to us about all the different kinds of engineering and what they do and what classes you have to take and how you have to be good at math. I'm really thinking about becoming an engineer now and before that, I thought an engineer was just someone who drove a train. When we travel with the club team there are always study sessions and SAT stuff to help us do better. I probably wouldn't even do homework on weekends if I didn't play with them.
Yes, I went to Vegas I made that choice. Everyone on the team had the choice to make. Some people went and some people didnt and I respect both decisions. I had some college coaches email me and ask if I was going because they wanted to see me play. I decided I wanted to go. Its a bunch of BS that Ricky made or convinced or asked any player to go. It was a decision left up to us. There are lots of players in our club that would have gone in my place if Idecided not to go. And there was no pressure and I knew that. There never is with out team. And I probably would make the same decision again. I saw the college coaches talking to Ricky. I got letters when I got back from coaches. And by theway, I don't go to any of the schools you guys all talked about.

Tuesday saw the publication of the annual Deloitte Football Money League and Castillian giants Real Madrid once more top the table of the wealthy. This year, they became the first side to generate annual revenue in excess of 400 million euros ($543 million), according to figures compiled by the accountancy firm.
Real generated more revenue than anyone else for the fifth consecutive year. Their broadcast income alone at $216m was greater than the total revenue of all but the top ten clubs in the Deloitte table. To further illustrate the dominance of La Liga, Barcelona’s Champions League victory had the knock on effect of catapulting them into second place, overtaking the side they beat in the final Manchester United. It should be added that the weakness of the UK pound probably affected United’s rating, as the whole table is measured in Euros.
Seven EPL clubs feature in the top twenty, despite a series of financial revelations which culminated in an EPL club Portsmouth, going into administration for the first time ever.
Arsenal seem to be beginning to reap the benefits of their departure from the 38,000 seater Highbury Stadium to the massive Emirates Stadium nearby. Their matchday income has doubled and seems to be eating into the cost of paying for the stadium in the first place. Their financial management over the issue has been a lesson and a template for all clubs like Liverpool, Everton and maybe even Chelsea, who have outgrown their stadiums. Arsenal swapped places with Chelsea, the North London Reds moving up to fifth. Fans will wonder if that is a harbinger of a power shift to come.
Real Success Not Linked to Performances
Dan Jones, partner in Deloitte’s sport business group, said that Real Madrid’s 10% increase in revenue to 401 million Euros ($520m) came despite a relatively disappointing season domestically and in Europe:
“Broadcast income provided Real with its largest increase in revenue, and at 161 million euros is now greater than the total revenue of all but the top ten Money League clubs. Barcelona’s unprecedented on-pitch success, winning a domestic double and the Champions League, helped drive a revenue increase by 57 million euros ($77m), the largest absolute increase of any Money League club, to 366 million euros. This resulted in a Spanish one-two at the top of the Money League as, like in Rome last May, Barcelona proved just too strong for Manchester United.
United slip to third and, like other English clubs, were impacted by the continuing depreciation of the Pound Sterling against the Euro. The scale of this is shown by the fact that if exchange rates remained at their June 2007 level, United would be top of the Money League table.”
Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and even Championship side Newcastle were the five other English clubs in the top 20, after Arsenal and United.
Spanish influence however is limited beyond the big two. After Barcelona and Real, there are no further La Liga sides featured in the top 50. France also has two sides, Italy four and Germany five.
This last number illustrates the growing financial strength of German football, which has seen increases every year in its already huge attendances since the country hosted the World Cup in 2006. VfB Stuttgart and Turkish side Fenerbahce are the two clubs that dropped out of the top twenty, being replaced by Werder Bremen and Manchester City.

I was photographing in the last months – please tell me what they tell you:

Source Tell me if you like them – i love to discuss the photos with you!
Weddings are a time of joy and love. Little girls seem to dream of their future wedding date by the time they start talking. Weddings are something that most everyone knows about years before it is their time to walk down the aisle. When the time does come, there are all sorts of planning that needs to be made. One of the most important however, is finding that perfect photographer that will capture perfect memories on one the most memorable days that many people will have.
The first thing one should consider when choosing a wedding photographer is recommendations from friends that have had a pleasant experience in the past. Start by asking close friends or relatives about potential photographers, and how well their expectations were met. Always ask if you can look over their wedding photographs. Take your time and look over each and every picture. Did this photographer capture joyous moments? Were the pictures clear? If everything seems to be your liking, then the next step is to call the photographer. If you have absolutely no leads from friends or family, then going to the yellow pages and wedding web sites would be the next best option.
It is absolutely essential that you trust your wedding photographer. Even if you’ve been given wonderful recommendations about a certain photographer, it is up to you to take the extra step. The pictures hanging on Aunt Martha’s walls may be splendid, but you still need to do a little more digging on your own. The second step is to contact the photographer and set up an appointment.Simply e-mailing a prospective photographer would not be sufficient. Remember that we are talking about lifetime memories here. You want to make sure you have in person interview with the photographer so you can ask all the questions you need, and get a close up look at previous work done. Once you meet with potential photographers, developing a friendship is of utmost importance. This photographer will be photographing family and friends in an up close and personal manner. You want to make sure that you are comfortable enough to get your views across. Remember that there are no “do overs” when it comes to a wedding day.
Third, make you sure ask to see a portfolio of the photographer’s work. This will give you a good indication of the photographer’s abilities and sense of style. More often than not, people who appreciate portfolio work will also appreciate the results of their wedding pictures.
The fourth, and sometimes most difficult task, is discussing price, yet this is a must. Once you have narrowed down the photographer that you want, it’s time to get the plan in action. The more experienced photographer will almost always charge more. Make sure that your budget will allow you to afford what you need. Ask how many photographs will be taken, and if you are allowed to keep the negatives. Keeping the negatives will be invaluable if you ever want to reproduce any copies. Have the photographer explain everything that you will be entitled to. If the price seems a bit too steep, a little negotiating never hurt anyone. You want to have beautiful pictures, yet you do not want to go bankrupt in the process.
The fifth and final tip happens on the big day. Now that you have already met your photographer, you can be comfortable that an unkempt professional will not be showing up on your beautiful wedding day. By now, you know what kind of work your photographer does what the prices are, and how well you two get along. Do a quick run through with the photographer one last time, and let the magic begin. Enjoy yourself and let the photographer capture brilliant moments.
There is no better way to capture the special memories of a wedding than through photographs. Pictures are keepsakes that will bring joy for many years to come. With a little research, quality wedding pictures can become a reality on your wedding day.

Wedged between Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda, Burundi occupies a high plateau divided by several deep valleys, being Africa’s least urbanized country.
Ethnic tensions which characterized the political conflict of Burundi for nearly two decades have caused population displacements of various scales both within and outside the country. These displacement sites are places where persons or groups of persons are re-settled temporarily or permanently in order to be protected against violence or disasters.
The security situation in Burundi improved substantially after the last rebel group in the country laid down its arms at the end of 2008. However, up to 100,000 people remained displaced as of the end of October 2009 in some 100 sites in central and northern Burundi, according to the International Displacement Monitoring Centre. This estimate is based on the last comprehensive Internally Displaced Person (IDP) survey undertaken by the UN in 2005, which found that some 117,000 IDPs lived in settlements, many of which had grown into villages. This number did not take into account people living with host families, particularly in urban centres and in Bujumbura Rural and Bubanza Provinces. In May 2009 the Burundian Ministry of National Solidarity released a report citing a figure of over 150,000 IDPs, but the report was rejected by local officials as methodologically flawed.
Most of these people, displaced in the 1990s or early 2000s following inter-ethnic violence and fighting between the government and rebel groups, have integrated in the neighbouring towns and villages they fled to, and the majority reportedly wish to remain in these sites.
“I started my reportages in 2007 while I was volunteering with an NGO in a village for displaced people (“village de la SAB”) in Bujumbura. Two consecutive trips in 2008 and 2009 allowed me to continue this photographic project (which is still work in progress).” (Cedric Luypaerts)
The photographs represent a cross-section of Cédric Luypaerts' work between 2007 and 2009 in the Burundian village for displaced persons.
Following its unveiling last week, everyone continues to debate Apple’s iPad. Some are certain that it’s doomed to fail, while others are sure it’s the future of computing. The truth is that, like the iPhone, it’s hard to make any kind of accurate judgement about it until you’ve actually used it. Unfortunately, that’s not yet possible since the earliest models are still about 60 days away from shipping. But until then, developer Frasier Speirs can give you the next best thing.
Speirs has made a Flickr set in which he dissects screenshots of the iPad from the promotional shots and videos Apple has released. On each photo he adds his own notes of things to take notice of. But rather than go for most of the obvious elements, Speirs focuses on a lot of UI elements that the majority of people will overlook while watching the videos. This is important because as any good fanboy will tell you, it’s often the subtle things Apple does in its UI work that make its devices stand apart.
And with the iPad, Apple has a number of new UI ideas it’s putting out there. As Steve Jobs made clear during his keynote, the iPad was built to be equally as good in either portrait or landscape mode. This is already different from the iPhone which, while full of plenty of nice landscape UI elements, is still going to be used in portrait mode most of the time. But on the iPad, there are elements such as a left hand pane that is visibile in the Mail app only when the device is horizontal. Turn it vertical, and it only shows the message area, and there are new overlays that you activate to navigate in this view. And that’s probably the most obvious example of elements Speirs points out.
If you’re really chomping at the bit to get your hands on an iPad, Speirs’ 53 photos should be right up your alley.

Tamron 28 – 80 / 3 kaufen
Ever since I purchased the Pentax Optio E10, I've been wanting to convert back to the disposable camera days. Frustrated with my purchase, I sat down and compared a one time use disposable camera and my digital camera, the Pentax Optio E10 surprisingly, the list I formulated revealed to me, that the disposable camera is much better than the digital camera for many reasons, and those reasons are all mentioned below;
Taking photos are much easier when using a disposable camera, all disposable cameras require is a wind and a push of a button, digital cameras often need to be set so that the brightness, size, picture setting such as landscape or portrait etc are the way you want. Many times pictures taken by digital cameras come out blurry, too dark, or too bright and if you are not digital camera savvy, you may never figure out how to properly set your camera. The great thing about the disposable camera is that the flash is built in and can be accessed easily by holding down one button for 5 seconds until a red light is visible and then you just click and take the picture, and if you do not want flash then you do not push the button, now if you have a digital camera you will have to go through all the menus and set ups to figure out how to turn the flash on or off.
Receiving photos from a disposable camera is much easier because all that is required is a drop off at the 1 hour photo development center at the local Walgreens or CVS, and within an hour you have your pictures. With the digital camera you have to download the digital camera software, connect the camera to a computer via a specific pc/av cable, but before you connect the camera you must set it up so that it is in the proper set up for transporting pictures to the computer. Then once the camera is connected to the computer, you have to actually select each photo that you want to download onto your computer which can take up a lot of space and some time. If you do not know much about computers you might have difficulty understanding the prompts. Connecting the camera to the computer and downloading the pictures onto the computer can take up to an hour or more.
Sending photos with the disposable camera is much easier because you can conventionally mail photos to relatives and friends, when using the digital camera you have to email the pictures to family and friends which involves locating the folders the pictures are in that you want to send, and then uploading them into an email and then sending them. If you have a disposable camera you can also send you photos through email by requesting a photo cd from Walgreens or Walmart, it does not cost that much, the store will load all your pictures onto a cd, that way you can email them to friends and family as well.
Price- A quality digital camera can run anywhere from $200-$600. A disposable camera can run from $5-$8, and if you go to a dollar store you will get good deals on brand name disposable cameras such as Kodak and Polaroid.
Storage- You can throw a digital camera right into your bag and be on your way, unlike if your traveling with a digital camera, you have to either carry a special bag to hold it in or hold it very tightly to prevent if from falling, or from damaging the lens, not to mention having to protect the camera from thieves. Losing a digital camera can be heart wrenching, but loosing a disposable camera is no biggie unless the photos are very special, in that case you could place a little mailing address label on the camera with your name and number, in hopes of receiving the camera back if it gets lost.
With a disposable camera you never have to worry about running out of batteries, or having to recharge batteries, or needing an adaptor.
With a disposable camera you don't have to worry about the size of your photos, usually when you need to send photos that have been taken by a digital camera the size of the photo can be huge (if not set up properly) and this can really delay sending photos, and when the photos are opened by the receiver they often appear extremely large,(magnified) and hard to focus on.
When taking pictures with a disposable camera, it is just one simple shot unlike with the digital camera, in which you have the ability to see the picture after it has been taken, which will motivate you to perfect the photo, and have others pose for retake, after retake, after retake, just imagine how frustrating it will be trying to get a perfect shot of the scenery, because you can see what you took. You will become obsessed with making the shot perfect and you'll most likely take the same picture over again numerous times.
Lastly, the best part of using a digital camera is that the photos will always be a surprise, you never know how the photos are going to turn out, it is absolutely fun to pick up the photos and go through them with family and friends. What's even more exciting is getting a forgotten camera developed; you never know what pictures you are going to see.
So think twice before you drop a pretty penny on a digital camera.

In the past two weeks Olympus has lost two key senior basketball players. On January 15th, sixth man point guard Spencer Harris, tore his ACL in the Olympus vs. East game. During practice on Thursday this week, starting point guard Joe Bourne broke his ankle (repeating an injury he had last spring). With Oly’s starting point guard and sub-in point guard out, the responsibility was left to junior Sam Williams. Sam displays excellent athletic ability and a huge willingness to learn and work hard, however, he has very little varsity experience. During the game last night, Sam stepped in and had a pretty good game. He scored 8 points, two 3’s and one layup, which considering his total career points in varsity high school basketball is only 15 points, he did very well. William’s biggest problem was turnovers. Total for the night, Olympus had 16 turnovers.
Bountiful on the other hand, had a great night. Number 19, Mckay LaSalle had 19 points, five 3-pointers and four free throws.
Oly’s Sam Williams after the game revealed this, “Mckay really is that good of a shooter, he didn’t just have a lucky night.”
Bountiful had only four players score, but each broke double digits. Nick Williams had 13 points, Cillon Salazar had 12, and Dan Prawitt had 10. The Braves are a young team, but they look to be a contender.
This game was intense. Oly was down by 10 points several times, but worked hard to cut Bountiful’s lead back. At the end of the 1st quarter, Bountiful was up 17 to 10, at half, the Braves were up 31 to 24, at the end of the 3rd, Oly was only down by one point, 36-35.
Ultimately, this game came down to free throws, Bountiful made 12 of 15 free throws, while Oly only made 3 of 6. Bountiful came through in the clutch and sunk their free throws to put the game away, 54 to 51.

Digital photography is a great way to protect precious memories for years to come. However, if you desire to have your memories preserved in good quality, then you will need to purchase a digital camera that can handle all of the demands you will throw at it. If you are like most consumer photographers, i.e. weekend vacations, hanging out with friends, family functions, your photos will range in style as well as in location. This is why it is a good idea to purchase a digital camera that is as versatile as you are. The Canon PowerShot 8.0 Megapixel Digital Camera, SD870 has some of the greatest features that are placed within a user-friendly product.
Main Product Features:
The main feature that I want to discuss with this Canon PowerShot digital camera is the 8.0 Megapixel image capacity. When you have a digital camera with this many megapixels you are able to enjoy extremely detailed photographs that can be enlarged easily and without loss of image detail.
With Optical Image Stabilizer, you are able to take pictures even when you are not on a stable surface, and your images will still come out crystal clear. This is a great feature to have for any type of photographer.
Perhaps the most unique feature within this digital camera is the Face Detection Technology. Within this system the digital camera actually recognizes the formats of individuals' faces, which then aligns the camera and stabilization features.
The digital zoom within this Canon PowerShot is quite impressive. There is a 4x digital zoom and a 3.8x optical zoom. While some photographers may require greater zooming capabilities, for the average consumer photographer this is adequate amounts of zoom.
Having a DIGIC III Image Processor built-into this camera will provide users with high-performance images and increased functionality. The Built-In Red-Eye Remover will eliminate the need to touch-up your photos after you have taken them.
Product Usability:
This Canon PowerShot is perfect for all types of consumer photographers. Whether you are searching for a camera for your children's sporting events, or if you simply desire a camera to use when you are out with your friends and family, this digital camera has all of the necessary features to provide you with endless amounts of pristine photographs.
Average Price:
If you are interested in purchasing this Canon PowerShot Digital Camera, than you will be happy to find out that this camera comes with an average price tag of only $350, which makes this one of the most affordable PowerShot digital cameras on the market today.

The DCR-TRV280 is this year, AOS low-end, in addition to the Sony Digital8 series. Battery Life
Sony provides a NP-FP30 Lithium-Ion battery with the DCR-TRV280. If you continually record with the LCD screen the camera is open for 1 hour, 18 minutes running, and 20 seconds. This is slightly less than the time in the operating instructions that indicated an estimated time of 1 hour and 20 minutes indicated. (We use fresh batteries for this test, but be aware that the age of the battery, reduces the maximum time of continuous recording.) Sony NP-FM50 Camcorder Battery

Because cell phones contain many chemicals such as arsenic, antimony, beryllium, cadmium, copper, lead, nickel and zinc, safe disposal of them is necessary to protect the environment and our health from a build-up of these toxins.
There are approximately 256 million cell phone users in the United States alone. The majority of people, probably much like my family purchase a new cell phone about every two years (right around the time we get rebate and incentive offers from our cell phone carrier). Cell phones are also quite commonly purchased for events like birthdays, graduations, going off to college and many other milestone events or simply to make us feel safer or our jobs that much easier. As a result, there is rarely anywhere you go that people do not have a cell phone, but that also makes for a great deal of electronic and chemical waste.
Because cell phones contain many chemicals such as arsenic, antimony, beryllium, cadmium, copper, lead, nickel and zinc, safe disposal of them is necessary to protect the environment and our health from a build-up of these toxins, many of which have been associated with cancer and neurological disorders, just to name a few. These are considered “persistent” toxins, which are toxins that take remain in the environment for long periods of time. Other environmental dangers associated with inappropriate disposal of cell phones is due to the electromagnetic radiation and electronic composition. In order to avoid these environmental hazards it is important to choose from the many different environmentally friendly organizations and opportunities available for correct cell phone disposal.
Get Green Going Green and Dispose of Your Cell Phone
One method of disposing of your cellular phone that is green and may even get you some green is to sell it. There are several sites available to assist you with earning cash back for your cellular phone, check out Sears.com, Staples.com, Gazelle.com, or your cell phone provider for several options for getting rid of your used cell phone.
Another program is Cell for Cash, a program that may pay you for your used cell phone, batteries or accessories. If your phone is not on their list of accepted donations, they will still collect it from your and donate it to 911 Cell Bank, used to help victims of violence.
Give Green, Go Green and Dispose of Your Cell Phone

According to their website “All equipment is repurposed in a zero waste, environmentally-conscious manner. Since 2001, The Wireless Alliance has reclaimed over 500 tons of wireless equipment from landfills, contributing to a cleaner and safer environment.” For Recycling Program Support – Please Call (866) 366-5791
Go Green and Use Your Cell Phone Carrier/Provider to Dispose of Your Used Cell Phone

Through this program it helps these victims be able to contact the police department, and these donations are used to help support non-profit domestic violence support groups. Phones can be dropped off at your Verizon center stores.
Sprint/Nextel offers two programs for eco-friendly disposal of your cell phone. Buyback is a program where they will pay you a sum to buy back your used cellular phone or PDA as long as they are Sprint or Nextel models. This program for provides you with a Sprint account credit.
If you phone is not eligible for the buyback program, anyone can use the Spring Project Connect. This program accepts all used cell phones, accessories and batteries. All the proceeds from this donation are used to keep children safer online though the Sprint 4NetSafety Program in partnership with the Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the NEA Health Information Network. To find out more contact your local Sprint store or visit Sprint online.
Rechargeable Batteries from Cell Phones Need Disposal Too
The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to recycling, reusing and properly disposing of rechargeable batteries and used cell phones. You simply visit their website and type in your zip code to find a collection center near you.
While it is very important to dispose of your cellular phone in an environmentally sound manner, it is just as important to make sure your “good deed” goes unpunished. Make sure you erase all notes, text messages, photos, cell phone numbers, calendars, recordings and contacts from your phone before donating or selling it. Most users' manuals will instruct you how to do so. For more information on how stored information can be stolen and used for identity theft read, “Going Green with Your Old Computer; Not Your Identity,” for information on how to carefully dispose of your electronic equipment without having it come back to haunt you.
Choose from giving your used mobile phone to a friend or family member (especially your teenager who will probably lose it anyway) to making money or donating to a charity as among the many alternatives to safely dispose of your mobile phone. But whatever choice you make, make sure it helps the environment and who knows maybe it will help you or someone else too.
Lastly, look to the future of cell phones. Motorola has created the first 100% recyclable carbon neutral cell phone, The Renew. Recently revealed at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, this cell phone is made from recycled plastic bottles and the phone is recyclable for the rest of it's life. While the phone may be basic in nature and not have all the bells and whistles of current cell phones, Blackberry's and PDA's at least it is a step in the green direction, as Motorola even includes a postage paid envelope for returning your old phone.

HOYA CORPORATION PENTAX Imaging Systems Division is pleased to announce the launch of the PENTAX Optio H90 digital compact camera. Developed under PENTAX’s new “functional beauty” concept, the Optio H90 combines a functional, no-frills design with a full assortment of solid, basic features to accommodate a variety of subjects and scenes.
Positioned as an easy-to-operate, popular-class model, the Optio H90 features a high-performance wide-to-telephoto 5X optical zoom lens, approximately 12.1 effective megapixels, a large, easy-to-view LCD monitor, and simple operations, all in a compact, lightweight body. To ensure simplified, flawless operation and superb operability, scrupulous attention has been paid to every detail, including the position, shape, texture and quality of each part, and the operability and accessibility of every controller. As the result, the Optio H90 fits comfortably in the photographer’s hand and operates flawlessly under all photographic conditions.
Major Features
1. Solid, impeccable design, derived from the pursuit of functional beauty
The Optio H90 sports a simple, extremely functional design, with extensive use of straight lines and easy-to-push round control buttons efficiently positioned for easy access. To achieve the unparalleled functional beauty in the Optio H90 as an everyday photographic tool, PENTAX paid the utmost attention to every detail in design, material and finish. High-quality aluminum alloy is used for the camera’s upper front section; the entire lens barrel is coated with matte black paint; and the grip is shaped for a firm, comfortable hold.
2. Optical 5X zoom lens for wide coverage from wide angle to telephoto
Despite its compact dimensions, the Optio H90 features a high-performance optical 5X zoom lens covering focal lengths from 5.1mm to 25.5mm (equivalent in the 35mm format to approximately 28mm wide angle to 140mm telephoto). Thanks to this wide zoom range, the Optio H90 can be used for a wide variety of subjects and scenes — from spectacular landscapes, majestic architecture and group shots within confined spaces, to tightly cropped snapshots from a distance. When coupled with the Intelligent Zoom function — which allows for even tighter zooming in on the subject — the zoom range can be extended to approximately 31.3 times.
3. Exceptional image quality
Coupling approximately 12.1 effective megapixels assuring exceptional image resolution with the PENTAX-developed high-performance imaging engine assuring faithful colour reproduction, the Optio H90 delivers brilliant, high-quality images with well-defined details. Even when images are enlarged to larger sizes, the user is assured of sharp, high-resolution prints with edge-to-edge sharpness.
4. Large, easy-to-view LCD monitor
Despite its compact body, the Optio H90 features a large 2.7-inch high-brightness colour LCD monitor with approximately 230,000 dots. Since this monitor delivers large images and menus, the user can check them at a quick glance and easily make the desired settings and adjustments.
5. High-quality HD-proportioned movie recording
The Optio H90 captures beautiful, high-definition-TV-quality movie clips (1280 x 720 pixels).* It also comes equipped with the sophisticated Movie SR (Shake Reduction) mode,** which automatically compensates camera shake during movie shooting with the help of exclusive software, making it possible for everyone to enjoy high-quality movie shooting with minimal effort.
* When the Optio H90’s AV output terminal is used, movie clips are output as normal-image-size data. If the user wishes to play back movie clips at high-definition-TV proportions (1280 x 720 pixels), the data must be transferred to a personal computer for playback.
** When the Movie SR mode is selected, the angle of view becomes narrower than normal shooting.
6. Automatic face detection for effortless snapshots
The Optio H90 features the sophisticated Face Detection AF & AE function, a great tool in casual shooting of people. This user-friendly function instantly and accurately detects up to 32 faces in the image field, then optimises focus and exposure settings in a mere 0.03 seconds — even when some of the faces are tilted or turned sideways. The Optio H90 also comes equipped with other convenient features to assist the photographer in capturing beautiful snapshots, including: the Smile Capture mode that automatically releases the shutter the moment the camera detects the subject’s smile; and the Blink Detection function that warns the photographer when the subject’s eyes close at the time of shutter release.
7. Other features
1) Pixel Track SR (Shake Reduction) mode to effectively compensate for camera shake during still-image shooting
2) Auto Picture mode for automatic selection of one of eight shooting modes for optimum results
3) Digital filters, including Toy Camera and Retro, to add distinctive visual effects to recorded images
4) D-Range setting to prevent whitewashed (overexposed) and blacked-out (underexposed) areas in an image
5) Auto-tracking AF mode to keep constant focus on a moving subject
6) Digital Panorama mode to create a single panoramic picture from as many as three images
7) Digital Wide function to compose an extra-wide-angle picture (equivalent to an image taken with an approx. 21mm lens in 35mm format) from two images
Frame Composite function (with 90 frames stored in the camera) to shoot or compose images with decorative photo frames
9) Image Recovery function to recover accidentally erased images
10) MediaImpression 2.0 for PENTAX software for image viewing, editing and filing (compatible with the latest operating systems, including Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6)
11) Eye-Fi connected: optimised for use with Eye-Fi wireless memory cards
As expected, Pentax announced three new additions to its Optio line of compact digital cameras: The Optio I-10 and H90, two point-and-shoot cameras that emphasize design, and the E90, the lowest-priced Optio to date, priced at just $99.95.
At the top end is the striking Optio I-10, a 12.1 megapixel shooter with a retro look, reminiscent of old-style SLRs, much like the $7,000 Leica M8. In fact, the I-10’s white version looks decidedly similar to the limited Leica M8 “White Edition,” though its price tag will be a decidedly lower $299.95 when it ships in February. For that you get a fairly standard midrange feature set: a wide-angle 28-140mm equivalent (f/3.5-f/5.9) 5x optical zoom lens; 720p HD video capture at 30 fps; a wide-screen 2.7-inch LCD; sensor-shift image stabilization; and smile, blink, and face detection (and as a bonus for pet owners, it even recognizes up to three dog and cat faces).
Next comes the more modern-looking Optio H90. And when I say modern, I mean modern in a clean, designy kind of way (which I guess is arguably retro in its own right). Perhaps it’s my penchant for orange, but I really like the slick and simple style of this camera (which also comes in black and white versions). If I sound a bit focused on the look of the camera, that’s because it’s the only thing that really distinguishes it from the rest of the mid-priced point-and-shoot pack. Like the I-10, it has a 12.1-megapixel CCD sensor, a 28-140mm equivalent (f/3.5-5.9) 5x optical zoom lens, and 720p HD video capture at 30 fps, along with the usual stable of smile, blink, and face detection (no pets, though). It offers digital rather than sensor-shift image stabilization and the 2.7-inch LCD has a standard 4:3 aspect ratio. Look for it in February as well, at a price of $179.95.
Last, and yes, least, is the Optio E90. The price is right, at $99.95, but that’s the best thing it’s got going for it. Otherwise the E90 is pretty much standard budget fare: 10.1 megapixels, 32-96mm equivalent (f/2.9-5.2) 3x optical zoom lens, 2.7-inch LCD, AA battery compatibility. You know there’s not too much going on when the company lists the rubberized surface as one of the four highlighted features of the camera.
A discovery on an online reseller's website Sunday (since pulled) has revealed that Pentax plans to draw attention at the upcoming PMA photography show with two unique cameras. The Optio H90 and L10 (pictured at top) will both carry a vintage look, with the former carrying some of the style of a rangefinder while the L10 will resemble a conventional film camera. Little is immediately shown in the images beyond the look, though the L10 will have a 5X, 5.1-25.5mm lens; both are regular compact cameras rather than Micro Four Thirds or DSLR models.
Although no release dates are attached to the images, Photo Rumors notes a previous tip that had put the launch of new cameras this Tuesday and that a “special retro design” would grace at least one of these models. Either camera should be relatively conventional in features apart from the look.
Launch information is still absent, but a third model could appear at the same time.
