By the time this display reached its third season, the joke was getting a shrimp thinly spread. The plots became further away from the initial conception of two lab mice wanting to retract over the world and more a showcase for the two lead characters’ interaction. This however is not a criticism.
In TV the word ‘formula’ is dreaded. However, here the characters remain so endearing that the method of every dwelling being vitually the same did not matter.

Most episodes followed this arc: -
1. Brain has a bizarre notion as to how to purchase over the world
2. To carry out this opinion some equipment/money is needed
3. Brain comes up with an even more bizarre diagram to rep said equipment/money

4. The understanding fails due to Pinky’s stupidity
5. The initial concept to occupy over the world is abandoned
6. Inaugurate over tomorrow night
Although there are exceptions, that basically sums up this and the previous two seasons but as the saying goes - If ain’t broke don’t fix it - and this formula was one that bore a lot of comedy fruit.
This reveal certainly beats some of the dross that graces our screens these days and had the nerve to query that its audience had some intelligence.
Not laugh-a-minute but unruffled a classic.
Ps .
I quiet can’t hold that no-one has decided to revive these characters to star in a live-action movie (with CGI P&B of course) .
pinky and the brain has to be my current cartoon of all time. from bizzare plans to assume over the world to even more bizarre plans to originate those bizzare plans work, pinky and the brains shenanigans never regain feeble. i grew up watching pinky and the brain, and they never catch venerable. Uncommon and entertaining characters, ranging from brains nemesis snowball, to pinky’s horse/girlfriend, as well as the occasional anamaniac apperances, round out the substandard cast of the prove. The joy that they seem to prefer in slamming bill clinton and other renowned figure (although mostly clinton), is objective so infectious that you cant wait on but laugh. And even better are the deep themes that appear if you inspect closely enough, but dont affect the hilarity of the reveal if you dont discover them, makes the display fun to study for everyone. i even wrote a paper on one of the episodes for my compostion class. there will never be another cartoon of pinky and the brains caliber. this present is the perfect thing to devour with your children and friends. it may assume some convincing to score them to witness, but once they do they will be crooked.

Before I even catch started I want to accomplish one thing perfectly clear; I am not writing this review based on the bond movies. In my humble view The James Bond series is graceful, some movies are better than others but overall this is action and adventure at its best. 007 is my well-liked elegant hero of all time and I hope the Bond legacy lives forever.
Now that being said; what [is going on]!. Are you kidding me? This is what we secure? Seven movies? That’s it? My plight is with the boxed space. There have been 21 Bond Movies to date, they took 7 of them at random and stuck them together in a cardboard box and they call this a collectors residence. Has anyone seen the collectors space they have in England? Its freaking stunning. It has all the movies in order from Dr. No to The World is Not Enough, plus a bonus DVD about the making of die another day and it’s all beautifully presented in a chrome metal collector’s box complete with artwork and many extras. If you have not seen it you can lift a peruse at it on Amazon’s UK situation but don’t catch it because it is state 2 and won’t work on American DVD players.
Why don’t we have a plot like that? …
This collection includes various Bond movies from four of the actors that have played James Bond in the “official” Bond movies, which excludes “Never Say Never Again.” My only complaint about the three collections is that the movies are not in order. I have all three sets because I like Bond rather than wanting all the Bond movies by one of the three actors. However, you have to steal them as you can obtain them sometimes.

Each of the movies in this collection is a “special edition,” which is a worship name for DVDs that include extras that range in value from high to crude. I have been very fascinated with some of the commentaries (those by Terence Young were very moving) and some of the features unbiased seemed like filler. However, what I found exciting other may not, and vice versa. Rather than listing all the extras, a list of which is available, I will discuss the movies briefly.
“Dr. No” launched the Bond franchise. Sean Connery state the tone for Bond, suave, debonair, and terminally frigid. He drove nice cars and had a penchant for dry one-liners. Ursula Andress situation the tone for future Bond women, and Dr. No was coolly ruthless. Ken Adam’s sets were artistic and artfully filmed by Terence Young, who also provided the stylistic role model for Connery’s Bond. In the extras you learn that Connery was mentored by Young and acquired expensive tastes and hobbies in the process.

Many people believe the second movie in this collection, 1964’s “Goldfinger,” to be the best Bond film ever. Bond’s villains continued to be ruthless and megalomaniacs, and Connery has a terminate encounter with a laser. Shirley Bassey belts out the title song and sets the standard for future Bond music. James Bond also quips that drinking Dom Perignon above 38 degrees Fahrenheit is “…as abominable as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs.” Fortunately, Paul McCartney did not retract it personally as he recorded the title track to the 1973 Bond movie “Live and Let Die.” Bond also got ever more gadgets from Q, played by Desmond Llewelyn, who went on to appear in more Bond movies than any other major actor.
The third movie in the collection is Roger Moore’s second outing as Bond. “The Man with the Golden Gun” from 1974 is a mixed bag. Christopher Lee as Scaramanga and Herve Villechaize are two of the most bizarre and ruthless Bond villains ever. There are fewer gadgets than in some of the surrounding Bond movies, but Moore’s performance is a bit wooden and Clifton James was a bit over-the-top as laughable relief. The title song by singer Lulu is beautiful advantageous, but pales in comparison to many of the other title songs in the series.
The fourth movie in this collection attempted to set Bond support on track. The 1977 movie “The Recognize Who Loved Me” had a very serious undertone. The gadgets are encourage, but effective. We meet Jaws (Richard Kiel) and Karl Stromberg (Curt Jürgens) . We also meet fabulous Bond women Caroline Munro and Barbara Bach. The stunts are awesome, the dwelling is unbelievable, the locations incredible and the title song by Carly Simon pushed Bond music abet into relevancy. This movie was one of Roger Moore’s best as James Bond.
Timothy Dalton’s second film, 1989’s “License to Waste,” is the weaker of the two Dalton Bond films. However, the supporting cast is advantageous, including Carey Lowell of “Law and Order” fame, Robert Davi, Talisa Soto, and David Hedison as Felix Leiter in his last appearance in a Bond film. The spot shots are very advantageous, and the stunts are among the best of any Bond film. They actually had those semi-tractor trailers up on two wheels, according to the extras. The abominable guy may have been a mere drug czar, but everyone was suitably atrocious. Gladys Knight takes the honors for the title song and Patti LaBelle sings the pop hit “If You Asked Me To” to terminate the movie.
The last two movies in this collection are Pierce Brosnan’s first and second Bond movies. In 1995’s “Goldeneye,” Bond is more dynamic and a more former ogle. This movie raised the place stakes by filming for the first time in Russia, along with a number of other exotic locations. The gadgets are better, and the women are nearly more than Bond can handle, especially Xenia Onatopp. This movie contains more state twists than a typical Bond movie, so be prepared to judge a petite as things go vow. Tina Turner does the title song reasonably well, but her performance has great competition in many of the other fresh Bond films.
The final film in this collection is 1997’s “Tomorrow Never Dies.” The supporting cast this time is phenomenal, with the astronomical actor Jonathan Pryce as Elliot Carver, Teri Hatcher as his wife Paris Carver, and Michelle Yeoh as Chinese agent Wei Lin, among numerous others. Jonathan Pryce steals nearly every scene he is in, reminiscent of some other sizable Bond villains. The locations are ever more amazing, digital effects abound, and the stunts are even more thrilling. That motorcycle jump was really performed! Cheryl Crow does a grand job on the title song, and the kindly video is included.
Because of all the extras these DVDs require hours to witness. While the value of the extras varies, watching them gives a fan mighty more information about the difficulties of making each movie, and how many of the stunts were performed. I deem these movies to be among the gems of my DVD collection. I recommend this area very highly as long as you notion on collecting all the Bond films.

A luscious movie. Perfect for a frosty night when you need some wait on getting over your believe bah humbug feelings.
This is a really nice movie and anyone who likes a respectable romance will really bask in it. The jam with this dvd is that the digital copyright protection prevents it from being played properly on computers or dvd/vcr combo machines. It works aesthetic on machines that fill only a dvd player. I found this to be extremely frustrating and inconvenient. I distress up with 2 dvd’s and they both behaved in the same plot.
As a 12 year old-fashioned, Holly Grant meets Santa and as she thinks she is too extinct for dilapidated gifts, she tells Santa she wants a boyfriend for Christmas. He leaves a gift under her tree with a message: she will receive her requested gift in the 20th year “when two hearts are ready”. Time then goes to almost 20 years later when Holly is in her 30’s and is working for a non-profit organization. Enter Ryan Hughes, a lawyer, who courtesy of Santa winds up being Holly’s gift for Christmas. A mistake with a joint client causes Ryan to have a falling out with Holly even though they’ve never met. When Ryan arrives on Holly’s doorstep, he chooses to snarl Holly his name is Douglas Firwood to mask his legal identity. Over the holiday Holly and “Doug” drop in adore as they occupy up a charade with her family. Holly’s jealous ex-boyfriend tries to note Ryan as a fraud, and Ryan’s lie threatens to spoil his chance for a joyful future with Holly. There is one brief comment about sex and a few uses of God’s name, but otherwise I would say it is a grand family movie.
January 2009 - I honest wanted to say that it seems they’ve fixed the jam. I bought 2 copies of this movie in town here over the Christmas season and they are graceful. I’m jubilant, as it’s a profitable movie.

paul reubens character was one of the greatest comedic events of our time.. From the early variety reveal, to the playhouse, to the huge adventure - pee wee could not lose.. I remember seeing titanic top pee wee in the theatre - and feeling very dissapointed with a movie that was impartial not very fun or bright.. Whereas ‘pee wee’s colossal adventure’ explored more of pee wees quirkiness (remember the scene with the tape in the bathroom) ‘big top pee wee’ tried to prefer the character disappear him to a different setting and create a sort of romantic comedy.. This is probably where it all falls apart.. pee wee should not be a romantic figure - he is the opposite.. he is best when he remains a sort of neuter or man child.. the second romance enters the describe.. pee wee loses all of his charm and comedy.. there are a few amusing moments in expansive top pee wee but on the whole it falls flat.
Incredibly abominable follow-up to the classic Pee-wee’s Mammoth Adventure is unfunny and bizarre. Randal Kleiser, the director of such films of Grease and The Blue Lagoon, flubs up Pee-wee’s second and ultimately last feature. The movie starts off OK, with Pee-wee hamming it up as a Frank Sinatraesque crooner but then goes down hill from there. Movie somewhat redeems itself with the longest veil kiss in movie history but then finally hits rock bottom. The ending is contemptible, and leaves a feeling of insecurity and confusion. When I first got this movie, I was expecting a laughable movie, what I got was an overly bland mess of a movie. It detached is keen to explore but doesn’t leave a feeling of satisfaction. When Pee-wee’s room isn’t even a cramped bit unusual, you know there’s something faulty.

After five trendsetting seasons of defining the cultural 80’s vibe, Vice was beginning to lose its glamour and had overstayed its welcome by becoming as trendy and aged as yesterday’s pastel-colored fashions. The mood and feel of the reveal had shifted away from the pop-electric neon atmosphere of earlier seasons to a darker and edgier tone beginning with the two-part conclusion to the season four cliffhanger “Mirror Image” that ended with Sonny, believing that he is his undercover persona Burnett after suffering total amnesia in a boat explosion, races off in a speedboat after killing an undercover detective. Tubbs has tracked him down somewhere arrive Tampa where he has been living for months as a hit-man for a remarkable crime cartel. The premiere episode “Hostile Takeover” begins with Sonny rising through the ranks of the Carrera’s by doing the dirty deeds for the feuding family in an worry to choose out the rival El Gato organization. Posing as a Jamaican buyer, Tubbs rendezvous with Sonny in an difficulty to jar his memory but instead Sonny tries to demolish Tubbs when it triggers a memory flashback and he remembers that he is a cop. After the initial Burnett story-arc is concluded in “Redemption in Blood,” the remaining episodes seemed to turn somewhat anti-climactic. What could have been an spirited season-long theme that that could have potentially played up Sonny-turned-bad masquerading as his undercover alter-ego Burnett is slice short prematurely and it’s hard to gain that Sonny isn’t indicted for all of his snide crimes or at the very least is forced to turn in his badge. There’s a few moments with Crockett trying to reconcile his relationship with his son Billy in “To Have and To Bear” and coming to terms with his ex, Caroline, and an comical light-hearted episode with his con-artist cousin Jack played by David Andrews in “Jack of All Trades” and also Tubbs reuniting with Valerie reprised by Pam Grier in the originally unaired “Too Mighty, Too Slack” that assist to wrap up loose ends but overall you can sense that the kill of the line was coming and the cast and crew were unbiased riding things out. Don Johnson’s wardrobe had gone from stylish slacks and casual loafers to denim bluejeans and cowboy boots and his long shaggy blonde locks made him ogle like he’d impartial walked off the residence of Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. The absence of composer Jan Hammer is painfully felt and Tim Truman’s commendable scoring gives it a very different overall feel compared to previous seasons and redundant plotlines animated South American drug smugglers had finally exhausted themselves but the payoff at the slay of the final episode “Freefall” is emotional as the ensemble cast members say their goodbyes and go their seperate ways and almost as suddenly as Miami Vice had arrive to an slay, so too had the fashionable decade of the 1980’s.
John Lennon said that before Elvis there was nothing. Of course, apart from a lot of teengroups, this was quite moral. I would dare to say that after Vice there has been nothing on tv that could equal, let alone surpass it.

I do NOT agree with reviewers saying that Vice “overstayed it’s welcome by becoming a trendfollower after having been a trendsetter in earlier seasons.”
It is good that indeed, as a reviewer so eloquently set it, “the mood and feel of the note had shifted away from the pop-electric neon atmosphere of earlier seasons to a darker and edgier tone beginning with the two-part conclusion to the season four cliffhanger “Mirror Image” that ended with Sonny, believing that he is his undercover persona Burnett after suffering total amnesia in a boat explosion, races off in a speedboat after killing an undercover detective.”
Of course when Vice as a series progressed in tv time, so did the dependable decade that Vice was all about (or to exhaust a chiasm; were the 80s about Miami Vice objective as well? ) . The glamour of the earlier fragment former away as the 90’s with grunge music and a more negative feel were slowly emerging. It might have been a reaction to the glamour of the 80’s as is often the case; decades that follow eachother are often like waves. Times do change all the time and so did Vice. Not surprisingly in the 90s and therefore of course the latter section of the 80’s (albeit more invisible) the atmosphere would have to mediate somehow in the episodes of Vice as well, and it justly did.
Yes, even Sonny changed to stonewashed jeans and I reflect it was chilly, since it was fitting. I mediate by then his character and the rest of the world had seen almost every pastel Versace blazer ever made by then, so this more down to earth witness smooth gave a frigid retort to the demand `what could have been cooler than Sonny in silk blazers? ‘Well, how about Sonny in jeans? Believe of it this way: would it have been fitting, or would it have been almost ridiculous, to have shot season 4 and 5 in the same prankish atmosphere as the first three? Arrive on, Jan Hammer had expansive soundtracksongs, but the music unexcited continued it’s quality. Gloomier atmosphere, gloomier music indeed, but it quiet was mammoth music, even today, that fitted the shows themselves.

Maybe the reviewers, including myself, cannot win to terms with the fact that in time generations become less and less naive, or in other words, the world becomes more realistic. Something’s gained, something’s lost. The mark for living in more no nonsense times like now is the loss of idealism. The fun in earlier seasons, with Sonny and Crockett making jokes in ecstatic Florida was lost, but what was gained was a obliging timing in shifting the mood. Vice rightfully adapted to newer days without being trendfollowers and that clearly showed in the last seasons. What was gained as well was more excitement and action in the series, and I don’t spy how reviewers saw this as superficial or Vice becoming trendfollowers instead of trendsetters. Level-headed even then, there was no better copshow or thrill than Vice.
The moodshift to more serious stuff to me was also that it seemed to act as a realistic mirror of the hopelessness of fighting the drug force, which it aloof is to this day. I mean, after so many seasons of fighting the ‘vice’, what did it amount to? A modern episode with a unusual crime to fight. It had to kill, or, the ‘ennui’ had to be shown in the series, as every suited series develops, impartial like any account set. It might be right the cast was, as reviewers said, ‘riding things out’ and things were coming to an kill. Exactly, and fortunately this same development, or ennui, which reflected in the series themselves was fitting. Drugs is unexcited impossible to fight, and cops like Sonny and Crockett that did their best in more than 100 episodes were likely to have become burne”tt” out. Vice had to kill, the only inquire of how.
Atmittedly, especially in the last season it spiralled alsmost to the absurdly icy, with great white empty villa’s and drugbosses in clothes that would accomplish a video of Bryan Ferry spy like the clip of ‘cotton eyed joe’.
Sonny and Tubbs indeed became more abstract themselves in this outlandish atmosphere. Some call this ‘one dimensional’, but the first three seasons had shown enough introspection of the characters I believe. And how about Sonny loosing his wife? That was a character-driven station to me. Overall, the action, the acting and the music (although changed in style) level-headed gave the series that extra over any other tv series at the time. Ok, it had become decadent, but all fine things spiral out of control, especially the unforgettable stuff.
I simply opinion Vice, and especially the last season was the best stuff our generation had the privilige to sight in it’s day when it was unexcited original, with the Burnett episodes shot in eerie night blue, his revenge on the killer of his wife and of course the indeed very emotional destroy. When Sonny drove off in his white car after shaking so shortly the hand of his partner, not only the 80s were lost forever, but also the best exhibit that has ever aired and it would not have been as helpful as it was without this season. I would like to seize a quote from the booklet of the Stones 2CD 40 Licks by saying: thanks (Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, Michael Mann) for touching our lives. Although people might say it was only tv, on some very rare occasions, tv transcends itself and defines a determined period in time. Vice did! Even though watching it now will never pick up you support to times lost, level-headed…go for it!

This is the third 10 Puny Solution DVD that I fill, and I must say it is my well-liked. The others that I fill (a yoga DVD and a dance DVD) were ones that I bought with high hopes, but was very disappointed in them. Not with this one! Jessica Smith is the instructor, and she was the reason I bought it in the first site. (I worship her Women’s Health DVD, Stutter For Your Body Type.) She doesn’t disappoint, and the 5 10-minute segments are all solid and targeted to what they are supposed to do. The five workouts are: Knockout Body Blast (a total body workout), Chubby Attack (total body workout but increasing heart rate here with jumping & shuffling moves), Ultimate Upper Body, Kickbox Cross-Train, and Fierce & Astounding Abs. (This is the order they are played in if you hit “Play All” from the DVD menu.)

I wouldn’t say it’s for advanced exercisers, but it is a tremendous intermediate workout that will procure your blood pumping and work those “predicament areas.” It comes with weighted gloves (I mediate they’re 1 pound), which are feeble in every 10-minute segment.
The good:
Buy,Download, Or Stream 10 Minute Solution: Knockout Body Workout Kit w/Weighted Gloves! Click Here
1. The first two segments, Knockout Body Blast and Chubby Attack, will net your heart rate up! There is some jumping in these segments, so be careful if you have terrible knees.
2. The Abs workout is fabulous; Jessica does some newer moves that I haven’t seen before, and my abs were on fire by the ruin of those 10 minutes. (You need a mat for this segment.)
3. The moves, for the most portion, were easy to follow and to do. She does “add on” to moves, but she does more complicated moves slowly first, and then speeds them up. I had some issues on more complicated moves, but they weren’t anything that I couldn’t assume up after watching her.
4. This is a solid workout; I really felt like I had worked out, unlike the other 10-minute solution DVDs I acquire. Again, it wasn’t super-high intensity, but it was a well-behaved solid workout.
5. Breaking this up into 5 10-minute segments really made the time waft by; for some reason it’s mentally easier for me to complete this procedure!
6. You can customize your workout by playing any of the segments in any order, or you can do them all for a complete workout.
Needs improvement:
1. If you are seriously uncoordinated, you will have problems with the moves in the Knockout Body Blast, Corpulent Attack, and Ultimate Upper Body segments.
2. The upper body workout could have been a bit more intense.
3. It seemed like the Kickbox Cross-Train should be done first; Jessica actually shows you how to do the punches in this one. If you hit “Play All,” it will be the next-to-last workout.
4. There really isn’t a apt warm-up to this workout. When I saw that, I stopped the DVD and did some light cardio for a few minutes, and then continued. There also isn’t a staunch cool-down, either; I did my gain with some stretches after doing all 5 segments.
I really like this workout as a nice intermediate workout. I am recovering from a lower abet injury, and honest increasing the intensity of my workouts from doing 3 weeks of yoga and walking; this DVD made my wait on feel noble, not broken! =D If you want to increase the intensity, you can catch heavier weighted gloves; if you want to decrease intensity, fair don’t utilize the weighted gloves and execute your moves smaller and less intense. All in all, Jessica Smith makes this workout fun and invigorating. If you like the 10-Minute Solution series, you won’t be disappointed with this one!
This is my first workout by Jessica Smith and it is my well-liked of the 10 Diminutive Solution workouts. Her make is generous and so is her cuing. It’s not too intense; perfect for days when you want to warm up for another routine or to accept a well-behaved workout in without over-doing it. (I exercise it before my kettlebell routines and also on my “active rest” days.) The gloves that came with the DVD fit great; I was pleasantly surprised.

This film is Brian’s photographs, video, audio recordings, and emails from his time in Sudan as an investigator in the quit fire agreement and his return visit to Chad. The images in the film are nothing short of repulsive, graphic and deeply disturbing on a level I never knew existed. If you contemplate you “know” about the residence in Darfur, you haven’t seen anything until you sit through 85 minutes of systematic genocide, rape, torture, and mutilation.
This film is Brian’s personal legend of the atrocities of the Sudanese government (whom is Arab), and its calculated genocide toward the dark Africans within its borders. It even goes after those that have fled to neighboring Chad.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Devil Came On Horseback! Click Here
But it isn’t unprejudiced Brian showing you a represent and saying ‘See, poor things are happening here.’ He explains the original historical highlights of Sudan and its government, the presence of China and its oil pipeline, the Russian and Chinese supplied weapons, the Janjaweed’s relation to the government of Sudan, the Sudan Liberation Movement, and other players. You come by to inspect the reaction he received upon his return to America: how the Place Department asked him NOT to indicate his pictures (!) ; how the Sudanese government sent out people to shriek against him; how the Recent York Times helped give him a express and secure his pictures out to the public.
Excellent production, editing and camera work. I would have liked to have heard some of the politicians boom on the topic. And possibly some more on the links between Sudan, China, Russia and Saudi Arabia, and how they are all in bed with each other. It was briefly discussed how China is heavily dependent on Sudan’s oil, but does not account for the fact that they need massive amounts of oil in order to supply the U.S. (among other countries) with goods. Though, I guess that this could all be summed up in a documentary of equal length by itself.
The spot in Darfur, Sudan is a complex and dirty area that can go on for decades. I didn’t inquire an 85 diminutive documentary to screen it all, but it does an honorable job of getting the word out that the Sudanese government is committing widespread genocide.
I hope you all regain a chance to eye it: you will not be disappointed; you will not dash away unaffected.
We shared this video during this past summer preview (2007) for the Rochester, MN community. I am thrilled to inspect it out for mass distribution. For every family with kids (and especially with College Students) I recommend this video as a gift. Develop it a gift you give to every student who is deciding what to do with their life after graduation or smooth “undecided” in their major. For a family, the film can be a bit graphic with war death (but death is only shown in smooth photography so it is not that grisly to children) . But we can no longer afford to shield children from the truth.
When we showed it to our community we packed out the auditorium and over the weeks that followed people chose from about 7 different ways to come by eager in Darfur including water wells, building schools, solar ovens and thousands upon thousands of dollars for spend by the foundations and NGOs in Darfur. The curious allotment of the film is the author’s wisdom about dealing with “post-genocide” and to peek this assure the author and his sister traveled to Rwanda to survey how to relieve a country and people groups when the war has ended.
This year is an award winning year for video production. I would recommend to Amazon and any family to lift two videos this year and to gaze them with neighbors, friends, co-workers, church friends, and more. The videos would be “The Devil Came on Horseback” and “Unbelievable Grace: The Record of William Wilberforce.” This is a dwelling of videos to sit with your kids, to inspect and to discuss. America has enough doctors, lawyers, assist workers and more…challenge your kids to see and learn and to give their life overseas.

I’ve been buying disks and tapes of customary commercials for about a decade now. This three disk area will likely own a handsome number of the ads that regulars to public domain and retro media sites already have bought before now. But one nice plus this collection has, which the others I have had definitely do not, is a chapter fracture for each commercial. It’s not a complete index of every commercial. It’s the ability to hit your remote’s chapter near button and recede to the next commercial, one ad at a time, through each disk. This makes cueing specific ads up, or skipping items of less interest to you, worthy easier than any other collection I’ve seen. (Most disks on the market seem to be made up of bulk transfers of veteran ads in 30 to 50 commercial chunks. Considerable of this material came straight from an online archive of public domain material in this obtain, and until now, no one has timorous to crash it up for easier consume.)

The video quality is of a very wide range, and some of the images are a mess. But anyone with a passing-to-serious interest in feeble commercials, or pop culture from the 50s to the 70s, should capture one of these up for general purposes. It dazzling mighty “retires” about half the commercial sets I have bought up until now.
Note: There’s also a portion of Drive-In movie promotional films (”Near by our snack bar…”; “Be Pleased our mouthwatering hot buttered popcorn…”) at the demolish of the third disk. That was a beneficial surprise.
Exactly what I was expecting, over 16 hours of ragged television commercials from the ’50s, ’60s & ’70s . I would have given this product 5 stars but the relate quality on many of the commercials isn’t that good– I guess that’s to be expected. Nothing here has even remotely been digitalized or enhanced in any method. These commercials have been sitting on dusty shelves in a basement somewhere since the last time we saw them, some over 50 years broken-down. For the imprint it’s definately worth it. I bought another series of old-fashioned commercials last month and paid $25 for only 3 hours. Those dependable same commercials are on these DVDs PLUS 13 MORE HOURS!!! One bit of advice if you win this product…take two sets. If you lend this out to a baby boomer you’ll never witness it again.

This is a movie about fresh-faced young ballet dancers who wait on the American Ballet Academy and compete for a few coveted spots in the ballet company.
This is the first film for the stars, Amanda Schull, who in loyal life is an apprentice at the Corps de Ballet in San Francisco, and Ethan Steifel, who is the significant dancer for the American Ballet Theater and considered the best male dancer in the world. Their acting is suited, but it overshadowed by their absolutely comely dance performances.
There’s a beneficial universal account here of the competition among the young dancers, their hopes and dreams, romances and mishaps. There’s Zoe Saldana as the wisecracking rebel with an attitude who nevertheless loves to dance. There’s Susan May Pratt as a bulimic who has been pressured into ballet by her mother. There are several esteem triangles and some surprises in the region.

But most of all — there is the dancing. Ah, the dancing! There’s classical ballet and Latin dancing and a finale that combines elements of jazz, new and ballet. The music is perfect for the dance pieces. And everyone is attractive.
The film stirred longings in me to bag up and dance myself, and in a procedure I was doing that as I completely got into watching this video. For all lovers of dance and for 117 minutes of total enjoyment, Center Stage gets a high recommendation from me.
I saw Center Stage once in the theatre and bought it recently on DVD. It hasn’t left my DVD player, and I’ve probably watched it upwards of seven or eight times since. The cast is energetic and amazingly talented, the soundtrack is an beneficial match to the various types of dance numbers, and the dancing itself is sublime.
I loved the extra features on this DVD, most notably the isolated soundtrack, director’s commentary, deleted scenes and the extended dance sequences. The video by Mandy Moore was also a nice touch seeing as it uses footage of the cast of Center Stage and is an wonderful song on its maintain.

The isolated soundtrack works well with the workshop numbers as well as the club scene. The commentary by Nicholas Hytner was entertaining as well–for example, the NY skyline in the dance studio was simply a very sizable transparency. He also addresses technical aspects of shooting dancers and the execrable dance studio mirrors. There are only two deleted scenes: one of Cooper at a rehearsal for “Stars and Stripes” as he chats with Joan Miller, and one where Charlie performs a solo number in rehearsal, featuring blooming footwork and a impish mood.
The extended dance sequences streak mighty more smoothly without the constant cuts to the rather bored-looking audience, allowing the footwork and energy to shine through uninterrupted.
Although quips have been made regarding the acting abilities of the mostly dance-oriented cast, I idea that everyone keen did an outstanding job. This has to be my favourite movie of the last five years or so.

This year 2004 marks the first appearance of this mountainous Judy Garland film (one of her last for MGM) on DVD. This film is based upon an earlier James Stewart film THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER and was recently remade as YOU’VE GOT MAIL. This unusual restored print is an improvement over the previous VHS release. The portray has been cleaned up and colors behold brighter and bolder than ever before, as we demand with 3-strip Technicolor, though there are level-headed a FEW age related artifacts expose, but I am forgiving enough to peruse beyond this. In general, the novel transfer is sparkling. The soundtrack sounds equally as impressive and has been cleaned up very nicely for this release.

Included on the disc are trailers for this film, THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER, and YOU’VE GOT MAIL. I really don’t know why the latter was included here, it lends nothing whatsoever to this release, and practically everyone in the country has seen it by now. There are no other “extras” to lisp of. We wish that the deleted musical number, “Last Night When We Were Young,” sung by Judy Garland, had been included as a bonus on this disc. Both the footage and soundtrack for this number survive, and it was included in the Outtakes share of the fourth disc of the unusual That’s Entertainment 4-disc boxed residence, released this past October. Why wasn’t it included here?
On the whole, this is a very commendable release from Warner Home Video, but if you collected have the VHS tape there’s no genuine special reason to bustle out and steal the DVD.

Look for an 18 month ancient Liza Minnelli during the closing scenes, making her film debut.
Despite this charming film’s misleading title the majority of the myth takes set in winter in the lead up to the Christmas season. It does however feature one of Judy Garland’s best later performances made in an all to rare trauma free moment in the slow 1940’s for this legendary actress/singer when her health problems were affecting her ability to do before the camera. Amazingly none of that is evident in “In the Expedient Extinct Summertime”, which finds her delivering a wonderfully controlled and at times wistful performance as a young employee of a music store in turn of the century Chicago who is having a romantic letter correspondance with a penpal who addresses himself simply as “dear friend”. Given its setting of a music shop “In the Qualified Extinct Summertime”, also offers Judy Garland a number of opportunities to explain some resplendent musical interludes in her recent style.

It was a stroke of genius by MGM to resolve to remake as a musical it’s earlier 1940 classic “The Shop Around the Corner” which starred James Stewart and another highly strung female performer in Margaret Sullavan. The results here are almost as effective as in the earlier film and Garland and Van Johnson gain a exquisite mask team. Based on the play “The Shop Around the Corner “, by Miklos Laszlo, the action this time has been moved from indicate day Budapest to turn of the century Chicago. Indeed this glorious film bares a strong resemblance to Garland’s earlier classic “Meet Me in St. Louis”,and here the atmosphere is unprejudiced as rich where the action centres around Oberkugen’s Music Store hurry by the memorable Otto Oberkugan (S.Z.Sakall), and his colourful group of employees in the store. Chief among them is Andrew Larkin (Van Johnson) who is a promising store clerk. Andrew however has a very prickly relationship with current employee Veronica Fisher (Garland) and both seem to always win something to disagree about. However what both dont realise is that the romances they are respectively enjoying via the mail out of work hours and which have progressed from “shining topics” to steady savor, are actually with each other! As the pen pal letter exchange deepens into fancy it is agreed that the two will meet. Andrew however sees Veronica already waiting in the restaurant and in his disappointment decides not to go in. Thinking about it longer and realising Veronica is his pen pal Andrew decides to give her a hard time about it and in a comic dwelling enters the restaurant and engages her in conversation great to Veronica’s consternation as she believes her “date”, will be due to turn up at any dinky. Encourage at the store however things slowly originate to thaw between the two and when Andrew gets into deep exertion with Mr. Oberkugan for lending his prize violin to friend Louise (Marcia Van Dyke), for an audition he finds himself fired. The staff rally around him and its up to Otto’s long suffering secretary Nellie (Spring Byington) and Veronica to design him sight the error of his ways. Otto relents for his behaviour and Andrew is made the recent manager however Veronica decides she must be the one to leave and its only during a romantic interlude alone in the darkened shop on Christmas Eve that Andrew reveals his proper treasure for her. Veronica also confesses her deep treasure for her faded antagonist and the scene cuts away to the couple in a warm summer setting happily married and with a handsome young two year veteran daughter (Liza Minneli) .
“In The Beneficial Aged Summertime”, boasts many memorable musical numbers including the title song, “I Don’t Care”, “Assign Your Arms Around Me Honey”, the amusing “Play The Barbershop Chord”, and my personal favourite “Merry Christmas”. In all of these numbers apart from her comely singing style Judy Garland proves what an exceptional talent she was in comedy, pantomine and more energic pieces such as the barbershop number. Here is a talented actress in the beefy bloom of her capabilities who was unfortunately objective about to exit the musical movie stage for quite some time. The supporting cast is exceptional with such delicate comical talents as S.Z. Sakall and Spring Byington providing the top level serve that they delivered in film after film in this period. Some rarities also pop up in “In The Apt Ragged Summertime”, as we witness weak Buster Keaton play Otto’s brow beaten nephew to splendid finish in his last MGM appearance and in the final scene reality and movie fantasy dismal as Judy Garland’s proper life daughter Liza Minnelli plays her and Johnson’s movie child in the last scene. Calm star Anna Q. Nilsson also has a limited fragment as a woman buying one of the infuriating harps that reoccur in the fable. MGM talent is abundantly on indicate in all departments here. The director Robert Z. Leonard who helmed the classic “Maytime”, for MGM, was only brought in after Garland nixed plans by the studio to give the assignment to her husband Vincente Minnelli as the pair were having difficulties at the time. The choreography is top rate and was handled by Robert Alton who was responsible for the innovative dance numbers in Garland’s previous film “Easter Parade”. Cedric Gibbons’ shapely work in place develop also deserves mention for giving the film its glowing appearance and period flavour.
After this inconvenience Judy Garland sadly went into a steep decline health wise and after completing only one more film “Summer Stock”, and being released from an aborted attempt to film “Royal Wedding “, with Fred Astaire her MGM contract was terminated. None of this sadness is evident in “In The Helpful Worn Summertime”, thankfully and what we have here is a movie with radiant technicolour, many blooming musical numbers delivered by Garland and a silly, and touching record station against a graceful “MGM”, Christmas. Delight In Judy Garland at the top of her talents in MGM’s “In The Respectable Faded Summertime”.
