How do I cook a wild skinned goose?
I would like to have an old fashion goose dinner for Christmas. any ideas? Can I cook this goose in a cooking bag ? would that prevent it from drying out? I think putting bacon over it would help. and how long would I cook it? less time than one with skin I think.
Everyone have a wonderful thanksgiving.

Forget the Hawaiian shirts… pack dark clothes to stay safe in the sun
15.10.09

It may seem like a silly idea if you are trying to stay cool in the sun on holiday.

But to protect against ultraviolet rays, you should throw out the Hawaiian shirt and wear a dark hat and T-shirt instead.

Although blacks and navy blues may be uncomfortably warm in the heat of summer, they offer the best protection, according to scientists.

In contrast, pale colours such as white and yellow put holidaymakers at the greatest risk of skin cancer.

The findings will come as a surprise to those who think lighter coloured clothes offer more protection than dark ones by reflecting the sun’s rays.

The results come from a study designed to test the protection offered by different coloured clothing against the sun.

‘The colour of cotton woven fabrics is a factor that has a remarkable influence on their protection against ultraviolet radiation,’ said Dr Ascension Riva, who led the study.

Many holidaymakers assume their clothing protects them from the sun  -  and only put sun cream on exposed areas of the body such as the legs, face and arms.

But a lot of items in a summer wardrobe offer little protection against UV rays, researchers say.

Thin white T-shirts, flimsy tops and wet swimming costumes are notoriously bad at protecting against ultraviolet damage.

Past studies have shown lightweight clothes made from loosely woven fabric, such as thick cotton, have a low ‘ultraviolet protection factor’ or UPF.

Scientists at Cataluna University in Barcelona used computer models to work out the UPF offered by red, yellow and blue dyes.

The colours were used in a range of shades on identical pieces of cotton.

The scientists then measured the ability of each colour sample to absorb UV light.

They found fabrics with darker or more intense colours were much better at absorbing the rays.

Deep blue offered the best protection, while yellow coloured cotton absorbed the least amount of UV, they report in the journal Industrial and Engineering Chemistry.

Dr Riva said that manufacturers could use this information to design clothing with better protection.

A UPF of ten means a fabric lets through one unit of ultraviolet light for every ten that falls on it. In the tests, a yellow lightweight cotton T-shirt had a UPF of 15.

The same piece of cotton dyed red or blue had a UPF of 20. Cancer experts say you can easily see how well a piece of clothing will protect you against the sun by holding it up to a light.

If you can see through the fabric, then UV rays can almost certainly pass through.

Why are (most) men so lazy around the house?
my mom’s husband (of one year) does nothing…absolutley nothing when it comes to housework. my mom is always the one cleaning and cooking (and serving him). as you know it’s thanksgiving and my mom had been cooking and cleaning the house since yesterday. multiple times I’ve offered to help. not once did I hear her husband offer to help out with anything. and now my mom and I have been in the kitchen cleaning everything up for the past two hours and all her husband has done is sit on his *ss and watch tv. I wanted to say something to him but I didn’t because I knew something disrespectful would come out of my mouth. it just irritates me so much that he does nothing around the house. ever. I don’t know if he’s lazy or old fashioned (thinks that women should cook and clean) or if it’s both. my mom always gets mad at me if I don’t clean but never asks him to clean up around the house. and the same thing goes for my sisters husband and many other men I’ve come into contact with. I don’t understand this. he knows my mom is tired…he even said it….and he just sits around and watches tv. I’ve even expressed to my mom how I feel about the fact that she never asks him to help but I don’t think she ever said anything to him about it. I can’t imagine how my mom would want to deal with cleaning up after him and cooking for him and serving him all the time. I don’t think she enjoys it either but just won’t say anything to him. and it’s not like my mom doesn’t work. she works just as many hours as she he does if not more.
I don’t know if I want to be married to a man that doesn’t offer to help out around the house. I know not all men are like that but I’ve had the same experience of it and it just makes me not want to be married.

Because the wives let them get away with it.

Housework isn’t much fun for men, but perhaps it is because 60 or so years ago most women didn’t work, and since the husband was paying the bills, it seemed natural that the women should do the work at home. I suppose it should be different today if the woman is working, but men still think of housework as women’s work. After all, they watched their mother do it.
Linda M | Nov 26, 2009

cuz women do the house work n guys bring n the bank.
Ace of Clubs | Nov 26, 2009

Yes honey, they are lazy a$$e$. they only do things if it benefits them. My boyfriend does the outside work and I do the inside of the house. he does help when I need it, but he refuses to do the dishes. and I refuse to let him wash the laundry. I do know many men who help their wives/girlfriends with the housework. all is not lost. some do help. just make sure you find one that will.

Don Juan DeMarco | Nov 26, 2009

Since men are often the one that work outside the home and/or work more hours than their wives (when two people are working) it is only fair that women do more housework. It’s not lazy, it’s just fair. Only whiny women with the entitlement mentality have a problem with that,
Gun Fanatic | Nov 26, 2009

Mr. Perfect is never lazy around the house. He can do the chores better than a housewife can do it and do it with relative ease. He can wrestle a 60-minute match with Nick Bockwinkle for the AWA Championship in a grueling, bloodsoaked match but he can be home in time to do the laundry and make a sandwich. And I might add, take the kids to school and still have enough time to watch the Monday Night Football Game.
The Perfect Y!A User | Nov 26, 2009

Your mom’s hubby sounds like a spoiled brat. Sorry. Maybe it’s his ego? My mom does most of the work around the house but my dad helps a lot.
Shan | Nov 27, 2009

I’m not a pig. When I was living alone, the house would be spotless with everything in it’s place. But, with a woman in the house. The house becomes a mess daily. Then, the house has to be cleaned daily… and on her terms… when she wants it done!

So, if I don’t help at the exact moment when she feels the need to clean. I get blamed for not helping with the household chores.
WaldoBC | Nov 27, 2009

So since your mom’s husband just sits around the house in your experience that makes most men lazy around the house? So I guess all of the yardwork and housework that I do and that all of my neighborhood friends do for our families counts for nothing then? You do know about differences in culture, right? I have heard plenty about the laziness of a lot of black men, and the unemployment numbers show it as well, so maybe your problem isn’t a gender issue but one of a culture, and that’s your problem to fix, not mine. I work enough long hours without having to listen to bigots like you.
THE FiTZ! | Nov 27, 2009

Maybe he is tired from working all day to support you useless cunts.

Do you see your (step)father asking the women in the house to help with his job? They only thing you are proving is that women are absolutely useless.
In a silent way | Nov 27, 2009

It comes down to the same reason most women still believe men should be working the dangerous, dirty, physical jobs around the house and in society in general: old gender roles that are hard to get rid of. I don’t really think you can judge a whole gender based off the actions of a few, if you can do that I have a LOT of questions about women I need answered.
Colonel Reb | Nov 27, 2009

I would not say most of us are like that and if you needed help why didn’t you just ask instead of expecting him to automatically know. Do not base all or most men off of a bad example.
????? Alex | Nov 27, 2009

It is in their genes! Either that or they have that belief that women belong in the kitchen carried over from back in the day when it was only the women cooking, cleaning, etc. and not the men.

Also could be poor training when they once lived at home!
julesrules | Nov 27, 2009

Yeah that’s true. I just don’t think men care about household chores nearly as much as women. We can live fairly happily in an unkept home. Whereas women will have insomnia if the dishes aren’t done.

Anyway, when something serious and dangerous happens and brave action is required, then whose letting who take care of it?

I can understand same-sex competition/jealousy, but why do women get jealous of men and vice versa?
This just baffles me. Guys being jealous of other guys, and girls/girls is normal, but I never ever can understand it when a girl gets enraged and jealous over a guy, and vice versa. I just don’t get it. Only in relationships maybe…but, it doesn’t make sense to me. Anyone explain? I’ll give an example.

Last week I was in a store in the mall just walking around, and I dress nicely, and was having a good day. I’ve also been dieting/exercizing alot in the last few months so I dropped like 20 lbs and just look good. ANYWAYS, keep in mind I’m a guy….I walk into this store where this one girl works, and she hasn’t seen me since last summer. I was more down/out back then. Now as soon as she saw me and recognized me and I walked by, she got an angry look on her face, picked up her keyboard to the computer behind the cash register, and slammed it down really hard, lol. As I walked by her, she didn’t even look at me.

Another woman, was giving me dirty looks and was kinda snobby/condescending, and we were both walking to the parking lot, and got inside of our cars. As soon as she saw that I was in a much nicer/newer/expensive car than her, she gave me the most dirty look ever, and I looked as she started up her car and she just HURLED her bag in the backseat, SLAMMED her steering wheel, and just drove off in a huff.

I notice very often, that women seem to get much more outwardly jealous and act out on it, towards me than men do, which baffles me, because…..what are the women hating on so much? I’m a MAN, I don’t have bigger breasts than them, I’m not as pretty as them, or as thin…I’m sure,…so then why can’t they just stop hating? lol.

Those are just very few examples, but from my life experience, I always seem to have more problems with envy/jealousy with women than men. Men, yeah, they can be but, they’re just, they don’t really admit it unless they’re drunk, and are more passive aggressive about it, surprisingly. You’d think that they’d be 100 times worse, but they’re not UNLESS you’re in a bar/club. Then all hell can break loose.

But women, my GOD. They are "on edge" it seems, and they react/get jealous of the most TINY things. They’re like hyper bunny rabbits that compare everything, compete with everything, and get upset over the silliest thing, and can be the most manipulative and evil creatures on the face of the earth,…HOWEVER…I’d NEVEr in my wildest dreams thought that all of that could be directed at a person of the opposite sex. We’re totally different from each other in SO many ways, that our similarities just aren’t enough.

I just don’t get opposite sex competition/jealousy. I don’t CARE if some chick is hotter or richer than me. I really don’t, and if I did, I wouldn’t get enraged or upset over it. Yet, girls seemingly get very upset/jealous even if a guy has more than they do or whatever.

That’s just, I don’t even know..

Any ideas?

Well most girls do want to be "the best" and compare everything to themselves. And girls do get very jealous for very insignificant reasons. But it’s always like that. I don’t know how it started, or why they do it, but they just do.
And there is always, even if you don’t sense/see it, a rivalry between men and women. Men have been more powerful and dominant for centuries that now that women can be more powerful and dominant than a man, they try too. Now women are always trying to outdo men. And sometimes the men do the same back which increases the girl’s jealousy and evilness.
But girls are more complicated than guys and so anything could really tick them off or make them jealous for no reason. And thanks to the menstrual cycle, it can get even worse.
I hope this helped

Some people in life are just unhappy with theirselves.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a female or male, they still feel jealous that someone else is living their life and doing so happily.

could someone explain the whole ending of the theatrical cut of halloween 6 the curse of michael myers?

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (also known as Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers or Halloween 6) is a 1995 horror film and the sixth installment in the Halloween series. It stars Donald Pleasence (in his final film appearance) and Paul Rudd. The original music score is composed by long-time Halloween contributor Alan Howarth. The plot of the film largely involves the "Curse of Thorn", a mystical mark, which is the source of Michael Myers’ believed evil.[2]

The Curse of Michael Myers was the first of four Halloween films to be produced by Moustapha Akkad and his son Malek under an exclusive production and distribution pact with Dimension Films. The film was marketed with the taglines: "Six Times the Terror… Six Times the Fear… Six Times the Thrills of the original Halloween" and "Terror Never Rests in Peace".

[edit] Plot
Michael Myers, his niece Jamie Lloyd, and the mysterious Man in Black have all been in hiding for six years. It is revealed that the Man in Black is the leader of a Druid-like cult, and that after the fiery climax of Halloween 5 the Man in Black kidnapped Jamie and had her impregnated. The baby is born on Halloween Eve and is carried away by the Man in Black. Later that night, however, a nurse helps Jamie and her baby escape. Michael Myers, in pursuit of Jamie and her newborn, kills the nurse by impaling the back of her head to a metal spike in the wall. Jamie, meanwhile, steals the truck of an angry motorist (who quickly becomes Michael’s next victim) and flees to a dark and empty bus station where she calls in to a radio show that happens to be doing a broadcast about the Haddonfield murders. Jamie gets on the air, begging for help and warning of Michael’s imminent return. Trapped, she proceeds to hide in the bathroom where Michael nearly catches her. She narrowly makes it out alive and again drives away. Jamie is still not safe, as she is forced off the road by a presumably stolen van driven by Michael Myers. Beaten and exhausted, she makes her way inside of an old barn where Michael is waiting for her. He kills Jamie by pushing her into a corn thresher, only to find that Jamie does not have the baby. Meanwhile, Tommy Doyle (the child Laurie Strode babysat in the first film) has his eye on a family who’s moved into the old Myers house across the street from the boarding house where he lives. The boarding house is run by a mysterious old woman named Minnie Blankenship.

For seventeen years, Tommy has been obsessed with finding the truth behind the murderous motives of Michael Myers. After hearing Jamie begging for help on a local radio show, Tommy finds her baby at the bus station and takes him into hiding. The people living in the Myers house are relatives of the Strode family (Laurie Strode’s adoptive parents), and among the current residents are Kara Strode and her son Danny, Kara’s teenage brother Tim, and her parents, the doting mother Debra and her abusive husband and Kara’s father John. One by one, Michael stalks each of the Strodes, trying to get to Jamie’s baby. Across the street, Tommy reveals to Kara that Michael has been marked with Thorn (or Thurisaz), an runic symbol that originated from a constellation of stars that appear on Halloween night from time to time (whenever it appears, Michael appears, explaining why Michael appears a few number of years after he’s been attempted to be killed). It is an ancient Druid curse that represented a demon that spread sickness and caused mad destruction on druid tribes. In order to prevent the tribes from dying, each tribe had to inflicted the curse on "one" child from the tribe, so the child can offer the blood sacrifice of its next of kin on the night of Samhain (A.K.A. Halloween), because the sacrifice of one family meant sparing the lives of an entire tribe, which is the reason why Michael is trying to kill Stephen. If Michael did succeed in killing his entire family, the curse would be passed on to another child. While Tommy is out looking for Dr. Loomis, Mrs. Blankenship reveals to Kara (after talking to Danny) that she was babysitting Michael Myers when he killed his sister 17 years ago, and Danny hears the "voice", just like Michael Myers heard when she was babysitting him (implying that Danny is the next "child" to be cursed with Thorn).

The plot takes a turn when the "Man in Black" finally reveals himself as Dr. Wynn from the original Halloween. After a terrifying showdown between Kara and Michael Myers, Tommy and Dr. Loomis follow Wynn to Smith’s Grove Warren County Sanitarium, where it’s revealed that Stephen is Michael’s child. Dr. Wynn and the cultists took a sperm sample from him and they performed an in vitro fertilizat
