It's Easy to Enjoy a Myrtle Beach Family Vacation
Posted in myrtle beach hotels on December 30th, 2009 by fredspears1956Clean, wide white-sand beaches, mild temperatures and southern hospitality all come together into one of the best vacation spots in the world – Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While only about 25,000 people call Myrtle Beach “home” on a year-round basis, these same folks play host to thousands of visitors every year.
Killer Awesome Beach
The beach itself stretches for sixty miles and has received honors, awards and distinctions including being one of “World's Best Beaches,” “America's Favorite Golf Home Towns,” “Best Thrill-Seeker Beach,” and on USAToday's list of “10 Great Places to Go Coastal with Your Kids.” The water is supplemented by the amazing weather, with the warmest month being July, when temperatures are just right for water-play, to mild 50s and 60s in the winter months.
Myrtle Beach Golf
Myrtle Beach, also known as South Carolina's Grand Strand, is home to over one-hundred twenty golf courses, increasing your chances of getting a good deal. That makes it an ideal location to teach your kids to golf. Check out this family golf resort.
Other Rockin Cool Stuff to Do
If your family does not golf, maybe you would prefer exploring the famous Boardwalk, the Carolina Opry, or the Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park. Maybe Nascar is your thing, if so, Myrtle Beach Speedway is only four miles from the ocean and hosts Nascar races on Saturday nights. If you're more into motorcycling than car racing, you can find rentals of Harley-Davidson and other makes of motorcycles, as well as ATVs, dirt bikes, scooters and water craft. If you came for the Atlantic, you will find the most amazing ways to enjoy it – these include boating, sailing, fishing, parasailing or on a jet ski.
Myrtle Beach Dining
Don't think that because this is a southern state that all the food is grits and gravy – Myrtle Beach offers oceanfront dining experiences in every category and form, from traditional American (because sometimes we need those grits and gravy!) to premiere Thai food, and from establishments that offer anything from fresh baked goods to the themed Cheeseburger in Paradise café and the NASCAR Café.
Parks and Playgrounds
Packed with parks and playgrounds, Myrtle Beach is the ideal spot to help families with kids of all ages save some money on their vacation. Many parks are free to visit, but you can also visit water-themed parks, and, of course, the beach is always free. Some of the resort hotels have incredible indoor lazy rivers. The Ingram Planetarium is an expensive, informative, and fun family outing, and Myrtle Beach is home to museums, and lots of historic places to visit. This is, after all, the South!
Shopping in Myrtle
Infused with probably millions of souvenirs and mementoes, Myrtle Beach is also a fun place to shop, and features several malls and outlet centers, including the southern staple, Tanger Outlets. It's fun to have family beach photos taken, and the surf shops can yield hidden bargains on beach wear on their clearance racks. A Myrtle Beach Family Vacation at Myrtle Beach Resorts is the best way to start exploring everything this exciting city has to offer. There is no such thing as a boring vacation in Myrtle Beach!
