The two boys walk through the doomed ghost town. But the boys discover that the town isn’t quite deserted. And they are trapped as a massive wall of water crashes down on the town. Please read!!! Can you review my writing??? (continuation) =]?
hey this is the continuation to of something i posted on earlier. Just so you know it’s about a 15 yearold named Lionel who falls into Hell and goes off in an epic adventur..blah,blah,blah. Anyways, this is a scene pretty close to the begining where the crack which he actually falls through is opening. here it is and thanks :
—————————————————————————————————————————
Something happened, that averted him from following through though, the moment his finger made contact with the chrome flush switch- the ground began to rumble. For three quick seconds the ground gently quivered as if it were alive and hungry, and then went back to being still. At first Lionel was struck dumb by this sudden event, but then came to a fast conclusion- that it had only been a soft earthquake. He swallowed some saliva with hard found ease and started to laugh. He laughed because he found the idea of an earthquake striking at that precise moment terribly funny, given his awkward situation.
The laughter came to an abrupt stop however, when the shaking of the ground arose once more. This time, more intense than the last. Everything; all the tooth brush cups and paste, medication, shampoo and conditioners, gels, sprays, and wall pictures, began to hit the floor. Lionel didn’t think it was so funny then.
Quite the opposite, he was scared out of his mind, and was even more so, when he saw the bathroom floor tile begin to pop out of place. This was something to worry about he thought, it meant the floor wasn’t stable. If he was on the second floor of a two-story house and it couldn’t hold- Lionel didn’t even want to think what would happen, much less stick around to find out. And so in one brisk movement he was up and on his feet, looking like a fool with his pants on the ground, and feeling like one too.
Maybe it was coincidence or maybe Lionel was just cursed, but at the exact instant his feet touched the ground, the lights went out and nothing could be seen, save for a slim line of light emitting from beneath the bathroom door- his target would be that.
As Lionel took his first steps towards escape, he was brutally knocked off balance by a sudden rise of rage in the uncontrollable shaking and thrown into the glass sliding doors of the shower. They shattered, while simultaneously releasing an ear-splitting noise, that only the likes of shattered glass could give off. However, Lionel was quick to get over the broken glasses’ effect, and focus on the task ahead- getting the hell out of there.
He was in the most uncomfortable position of his life and couldn’t see a thing, yet this didn’t stop Lionel from being able to regain his composition and most importantly get on his feet again. The plan was simple- to open the door as fast as he could and get out. It was’nt that far after all, five, six- feet maybe. All he had to do was keep his balance.
With little thought, he went for it. But as he did, he was stopped dead in his tracks by something astonishing- a narrow thin crack of blinding light, that appeared along the floor like a slithering snake, making its way through the tile as if it were water. From it came a radiant red glow that hurt the eye, and the more it seemed to advance in its conquest for territory, the more Lionel felt the floor under his feet was going to collapse.
For moments he remained hypnotized under awe, and his body entered a state of strict muscle contraction. Fore in spite of everything that was going on, Lionel’s mind flung the dangers present aside, and risked the precious time to challenge the existance of things seemingly impossible, right there and then, such as that of this which was before him, by trying to figure out a reasonable explanation for this strange phenomena, keeping in mind he was on the second floor. It was his nature to be skeptical and always ask ‘why and how’ when something seemed odd or out of place, apparently even now, this was true.
That which managed to bring him back was his mother’s voice in freak panic,
"Lionel! Baby are you ok!"
"Loinel!"
"Yea mom! I’m coming, hold on!", he replied remarkebly calm, still bugged a little by the mystery of the crack. Anyways, determind to reach safe haven and now his mother, Lionel pulled up his pants half way, managing however he could to sustain them, and told himself ‘alright, here we go…another challenge’.
"One, two,…three!", he courageously declared. But that’s all he did. He didn’t move, he didn’t budge- he was hesitant. What was to fear of this little crack, he thought. Perhaps, maybe just that it was against all the laws of reality? Acknowledging his own sarcastic humor, even if only for a brief moment, he smiled.
Short lived was his grin, coming to the end when his ears cringed at the sound of a , as only a woman could. A loud thump and short squeal atlast, brought an end to the woman’s screaming. Lionel, te
Very fun though the crack in the floor seems more like a strike of lightening at his feet then a snake, and Fore is for, Fore is to the front of something and does not work here.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
IMDB rating: 8.50
Plot: Dobbs and Curtin meet up in Mexico, and go to work for a contractor, Pat McCormick, who takes them away to remote site and tells them they will be paid when the job is finished. When they are finished, they return to town to find McCormick to get their wages. McCormick gives them a few dollars, and says he’ll just go to the bank and pick up the payroll for them. Dobbs and Curtin then meet up with an old prospector, who claims the hills are still full of gold, and if they can get the cash, he’ll go with them. They eventually get the cash from McCormick after a little “persuasion”, and all three set off for the hills as good friends, but will they return that way ?

In which movie can the line "We don't need no stinkin' badges" be found?
Isn’t it "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"?
Yes it is, with Humphry Bogart.

"blazing saddles"…..by mel brooks 1974
The original quotation comes from the 1948 film The Treasure of the Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart. In one of the scenes in the movie a Mexican bandit leader (Gold Hat played by Alfonso Bedoya) is trying to convince Fred C Dobbs (played by Bogart) and company that they are the Federales.
Dobbs: ‘If you’re the police where are your badges?’
Gold Hat: ‘Badges? We ain’t got no badges. We don’t need no badges! I don’t have to show you any stinkin’ badges!’
In the 1974 Mel Brooks film Blazing Saddles, probably the most famous parody of the line is delivered.

and many more and TV shows as well, but you were right, the line originated in "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" (1948)

Books about fundamental Christianity?
I received three books about Fundamental Christianity or rather opposing it and wonder if any of you have read them and what you think of them?
"Don’t call me Brother" By Austin Miles
"Setting the captives Free" by same author as above
"Satanic Panic" by Jeffrey S. Victor
I know this is a book question but the subject matter in them is in this realm and I want answers from others who may have actually read the books. Thanks.
They look kind of silly…. the best books I’ve read to date about anti fundamentalism would be "searching for God knows what" by Donald Miller, and "Churched" by Matthew Paul Turner
I’m going to be reading "What the Bible Really Teaches" by Keith Ward soon.. that one’s a bit more heavy.

How fast is too fast?
I have a VW Passat and I saw online the top speed is around 130 mph. However, I was told by someone it is not recommended you drive faster than 110 mph because it is bad for the transmission. Is this true? I want to take it to the local track to test it out but I don’t want to mess up my transmission for a few minutes of fun. So should I keep it to below 110 mph or is there any limit, besides the top speed of course? Also, does it matter if I keep it in automatic or use the tiptronic option? Thanks,
i agree, it shouldn’t hurt the transmission at all
Mike C | Dec 12, 2009
Going full speed once in a while won’t hurt anything as long as everything is in good shape. Make sure all your fluids are full and clean. check the suspension and steering for any looseness.
Keep an eye on your gauges, watch for overheating. Don’t push it all the way to redline in top gear.
Check your tires for a speed rating. Do not exceed.
BEA | Dec 12, 2009
What experience do you have with racing? Do you t hink you can control it at that speed? When you haul it out to the full amount it is certainly hard on transmission. Only makes sense that if you run it as fast as it can go and push it that it can blow the transmission.
Not to mention flip over and roll, etc.
sweet.caroline | Dec 12, 2009
I’m not certain, but I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to push my Jetta to it’s 127 top speed if I could get away with it. I can’t imagine why such a great German automaker would let people drive faster than the cars could handle, My money says it will easily do 130 all day long. I drove my Jetta from VA beach, VA all the way to SC at 90+ no problem at all.

My mom demanded me to come in her room to tell me that she doesn’t like the snow.
She’s laying in her bed watching the snow on tv. And, I like the snow. I can get nice photos of the snow…
Snow also reflects lots of ultraviolet, which means color films pick up lots of blue in the shadows on sunny days. The ultraviolet (UV) filter does little to reduce this, in our experience; the skylight (lA), which has a slight pinkish color, works better.

"Water Flows Toward Enlightenment"
by Amber "V" Moonstone
Water flows toward the endless sea,
the strength of this flow amazes me,
flowing from the river,
through the brooks and down
the many waterfalls
that stretch through my back yard.
Watching the thunderous flow,
as the Earth melts all the snow,
makes me aware of my own life’s energy.
Is It as smooth and natural as the Earth’s flow?
At this very moment it is not.
I am blocked, closed, alone, lonely, sad,
overworked, stretched too far…
but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel,
It is this light that always sustains my soul.
I must go to my sacred place;
that place that always ignites
the light that constantly dwells within.
The days that are the darkest,
reep the most lightness.
To remind me of my goodness,
to remind me of my destiny,
to remind me of my journey,
and mostly to remind me that
the Universe is counting on me
to deliver what I treasure the most,
"Peace, love and lightness!"
What I have seen today,
has sparked a flicker of hope
that I will soon be on the right
path toward my energy flow
into the endless sea of life.
ABOUT A SNOWFLAKE]
Life of a Snowflake By Dean Thorpe
Frozen water drop, falling from the sky.
Slowly drifting down, from the clouds so high.
No two flakes that fall, are ever the quite same.
Gliding through the air, floating like a flame.
Down towards the Earth, oh where will it land.
On a Christmas tree? In a small boys hand?
No such luck this time, landed on a car.
Speeding down the road, did not travel far.
Windscreen wipers on, snow pushed to the side.
Falling to the floor, nowhere left to hide.
Disappearing now, vanished down the drain.
Floating to the sea, with the fallen rain.
Then another day, back into the sky.
Up into the clouds, how it loves to fly.
On a winters day, time to fall again.
Something fun this time, please not down the drain.
Scooped up as it lands, made into a ball.
See a smiling face, hear a young boy call.
Children gather round, see the man of snow.
Now its feels a part, never wants to go.

Landlord is your client who wants to sue minor tenants. Can he do that? What do you tell your client?
Hey guys,
I’ve got this question for my class and having really hard time figuring out how to answer it. Any help I can get I will greatly appreciate it!
A potential client, a landlord, wants you to sue some tenants who have refused to pay rent. The tenants were a sixteen-year-old and a seventeen-year-old whose parents had thrown them out of the house and refused to provide them with room and board. The landlord entered into a lease with them so they would have a place to live and they now owe him $3,000 in back rent. He wants to sue for breach of contract. The teenagers have claimed that they cannot be held liable because they are minors. What do you tell your potential client?
I’ve tried to search for legislation that covers the liability of minor tenants to landlords to see if they at all can be held liable, searched for statutes that may cover any minor tenants vs landlord situations/cases but haven’t had any success so far. The fact that the actual question asks: What do you tell your potential client? sort of leaves the answer open-ended which makes it a bit more complicated.
Thank you for any help and any answers anyone can offer.
Thank you!!!!

This is kind of gross for me to write about but I’m a little worried that I might have a yeast infection. I’ve been having some uncomfortable symptoms in the vaginal area lately. My period just ended earlier this week and I’ve had itching and burning when i go to the bathroom. There’s also odorless, stringy whitish discharge. I’m 13 and I’ve been on the pill for about 4 months because of super sever cramps and they finally started to work. My period before this last one lasted a month and a half because I was stacking pills and it reaaally sucked. My symptoms aren’t severe but all the articles I’ve read just tell about facts and I wanted to see what someone who’s actually had it might think. I really don’t want to go to the doctor for this, i’d rather just treat it myself. Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
since you are 13 i say you should go to the doctor, it’s the best way to know for sure.

What are the rules regarding credit card payments if the wrong name appears on the invoice?
I used my Mum’s credit card to book a holiday but I have had issues with the travel firm as they booked me into the wrong hotel and are refusing to change it without charging me.
It now transpires that they failed to take my Mum’s name in order to process the card payment and the invoice shows my name as the cardholder.
Is this grounds to have the card payment reversed by the card company? It is my view that they should not have accepted the payment request with the wrong name on it, can anyone confirm?
I should add that I had the express permission of my Mum to use her car so there is no question of fraud.
Your mother can certainly dispute the charges with the credit card company as not being authorized by her. Of course, the credit card company would then come after YOU for fraud or ID theft.

How do you grow your own tobacco indoors?
With skyrocketing tobacco prices, I want to grow my own tobacco. However, I don’t have a lot of space at my place, so I want to grow it in my closet. How would I go about doing this? What do I need?
Also, it needs to be relatively covert. My landlord is real nosy and told me growing tobacco would violate my lease, but I think he’s just saying that.
It’s perfectly legal to grow tobacco in all 50 states. I don’t understand why your landlord might have a problem with it.
Tobacco grows fairly easily. It likes full sun and needs decent drainage. Seeds are available from several sources online. I bought mine from newhopeseeds.com. They are fairly inexpensive.
You would probably not be able to grow your tobacco successfully in a closet. The plants grow fairly large and need sun.
If you can find some land to cultivate with tobacco plants, you could grow your own and make your cigarettes for less than $5 a carton. There is some work involved in it.

Tobacco huh? Um yeah, well you would need a high powered metal halide light http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_halid e_lamp or something similar. Then you would need to create a harness in your closet to hold the light up. Start off with long light cycles, 18 hours or so, then when your ready to harvest start shortening to 12 hour cycles. Make sure you properly nourish and water the soil your using. For tobacco, um yeah tobacco, your apartment will really smell. So you’ll want to find a way to cover up the extremely strong smell. Also, yes, this will violate your lease.
