If you haven’t seen this, it is a proper “anxiety” movie in the vein of the recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
And by that I mean that it is utterly horrifying: the kind of movie you judge about 10 years later and it detached leaves you unsettled. The kind of movie that you’re not eating popcorn while watching it because your hands are in fists throughout most of it - and you wouldn’t want to be eating while watching it anyway.

By “alarm,” I don’t mean a slasher film where you find cutsie characters, amusing relief, and gratutitous nudity.
I’m not going to declare anything about the place because that will only detract from its impact. (Not radiant anything about this film and seeing “the scene” is perhaps the single scariest movie experience I’ve ever had) .

Why do you judge it’s taken over 20 years to score this movie released uncut in America - and the film itself is virtually unheard of by Americans?

One of the best apprehension films you’ll ever spy in your entire lifetime. This is the complete version. A quick-witted and inventive film. It’s possible that Stephen King was inspired by this gem to write children of the corn. Who can waste a child? is an incredible film, and the last reel will give you a deep trauma that will haunt you for years. 1 billion thumbs up.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie was a improbable surprise, even for this exact Hilary lover and long-time fan of the series. From the natty cute and perfect opening scene, to the fan and crowd fine feel-good ending, this was a perfect movie for such a spacious hit TV indicate. I must admit, it WAS stunning irregular to watch all the Lizzie McGuire characters on the sizable hide, but it was very icy once I got traditional to it. The graduation scene bothered me a bit, because they felt they had to give an explanation for every major character, making statements the TV indicate fans already knew, like how Kate worn to be Lizzie’s best friend until she became favorite, etc…, but that was the only thing in the whole movie that bugged me. It wouldn’t even have been that poor, if not for the procedure they did it, rushing from one character to another like, “we need to earn these character explanations out of the blueprint,” mentioning how Lizzie’s other best friend, Miranda, was away in Mexico and things like that. But like I said, that was the only allotment that bugged me in an otherwise incredibly ample movie! As a long-time fan of the explain, a couple of parts nearly made me weep, though I’m positive sometimes it was impartial the result of seeing my dreamgirl, Hilary Duff, up there looking amazing and doing the best acting I’ve ever seen her do! Oh, what I would have given to have traded places with Gordo in that movie!
Hillary Duff is going to be a sizable star and she is already on the shining road to a large future. Not only does she gawk cute, but she can act and shriek to. Oh yeah, and she seems incredibly humble and sweet despite all of her success.
Her Disney Channel series “Lizzie McGuire” makes its contrivance to the big-screen in a finale movie that will certainly sit well with young girls. It’s impartial a 90-minute episode of the common television note, with some extra money in the budget to shoot on residence in Rome. But we can be grateful that it is a nice, wholeome legend created for an age group usually neglected by Hollywood.

His only other film is the highly bawdy, R rated joyful film “Trick,” but he does a sparkling decent job here, wonderfully capturing Duff’s charming on-screen persona. Pleasing shots of Rome add to the atmosphere and the piquant soundtrack adds to the fun.
The film is a delectable, sugary treat from commence to effect. If it isn’t exactly high art, but a fun teen-girl romp that traffics in cute boys, hip outfits, and loads of cheesy (but fun) pop music. Throw in some light morals about friendship, fame, and trust, along with adorable teen crushes, and there’s something to recommend for fun family viewing.

Like many people who have seen this film, I saw it when I was a kid in the early 1980s on HBO. The space revolves around a young school teacher and the children of various ages that she teaches in a schoolhouse in Australia. The teacher and the children are kidnapped by men wearing masks who are planning on holding their victims for a hefty ransom and perhaps a small “fun” with the teacher and the eldest girl. The movie is suspenseful and elephantine of action as the victims hasten from one holding set to another until the kill when they recall a stand, get a fortress, and seize things into their beget hands.
Scenes from this movie have stuck with me my whole life. I had nightmares for weeks about the masked bandits coming after me and for awhile I could never notice at a Daffy Duck shroud the same again. I also vividly remember the students and teacher making a last stand at the broken-down cave where they made their fortress. I was always impressed by how crafty those group of kids were and always hoped I could be as cunning in a similar set.
This is a broad movie. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to secure. It’s rather rare on video, video stores objective don’t carry it (I’ve looked in over 20 different ones and not one carries it), and I search the cable guides weekly but haven’t seen it listed since around 1990. Hopefully, the elegant folks at HBO will wise up and re-release this film on VHS and DVD soon.
I first saw this movie on cable TV (I’m sparkling distinct) about 7 or 8 years ago! I was most likely in the 4th or 5th grade. It was absolutely graceful and created all kinds of suspense in my mind. Was the young woman and her students going to die or we’re they along for a unpleasant joy dash? I have been looking for this movie for the 7 or 8 years since I’ve seen it. Until about 2 weeks ago, a friend has enlightened me with the title of this movie!! I was asking all sorts of people about it and describing all that I had remembered, but didn’t even know the title! WELL, IF YOU WANT A Grand MOVIE TO Scrutinize, THIS IS THE ONE! I hope to GOD, it gets re-released again….can we email the distributer? What’s their name? Thanks……

This is an inside view at the inner workings of Windsor Castle that most folks don’t gain to explore. Planning a royal party is like planning a battle. Everything has to be real and perfect. I’d known about the British PAL format version for months and was delighted to discover it finally broadcast on PBS, then available on DVD for the U.S. market.

This DVD status is well worth owning for anyone for anyone who has been to Windsor Castle or is objective thinking about touring it even if you could care less about the Royal family. Split into three segments and covering events over a years time in 2004-2005 there is something for everyone to look.
Lot’s of challenging detail and late the scenes looks at things as the castle and grounds are prepared for a variety of events and occaisions. I would quiz that there are details presented that even many long time employees haven’t seen about the site. If you can’t stand the Royal family, don’t worry- the Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip) is the only member of the family to actually grunt on camera or even have great cover time, he isn’t dreadful either.
I was surprised at some of the things I saw and learned- I don’t regret owning this DVD dwelling one bit. My only complaint(s) about the region inconvenience the second disc with it’s additional unbroadcast footage. You’ll want to search for at the menu, it let’s you either glance every selection or settle what you want to search for. I found that many of the items consisted of extended selections of bits covered in the main program selections, if you got enough of it the first time through you’ll want to skip some parts. I also noticed, on the second disc, that if you don’t quite glean what someone says you’re out of luck because there’s no closed captioning to support out, and no subtitling. I didn’t check Disc 1 for subtitling but it is, as the case says, closed captioned if you happen to want that function.

This was a rather spectacular (by 60s standards) sci-fi underwater adventure with some of the FX smooth grand even today, an academy award winner leading the cast, and an emphasis on action that made more unusual sci-fi shows such as “Seaquest” ogle and feel mature and derivative. Unfortunately, this demonstrate ultimately became overly formulaic to the point of exasperating redundancy and it shows through in this collection.

In these 13 episodes we have Captain Crane and others brainwashed by aliens into destroying Seaview, Admiral Nelson brainwashed by Russians into destroying Seaview, Crane brainwashed by a re-animated mummy into sabotaging the Seaview, Crane and others brainwashed by a giant, anemone-like seamonster into taking over Seaview, Crane and others brainwashed by more aliens into….hell, I’ve lost track.
Also, it seems the scriptwriters have discovered a fresh toy, and they wield it like a newly pubescent boy. That is (drumroll) ….the CIRCUITRY ROOM! Ta-DA!! Yes, folks, you accept to leer at least a half-dozen times benefit to encourage as various villains and monsters effect their plot to this curiously unlocked principal plot and wreak havok by pulling plugs and wires while the sub rocks and rolls and sparks shoot out of the consoles for some reason. Running concurrently will be the liberal exercise of plastic explosives to blow launch hatches in several episodes as well (again, assist to assist) .

Further, many of the episodes here are rehashes of the first half of this season. Nelson has a recurrence of his lycanthropy from an earlier 3rd season episode, another heat monster menaces seaview, more aliens need the sub’s reactor, etc. Then, there are episodes with plenty of stock footage from previous episodes recanned as fresh stories. One episode, “No Hurry from Death” is unruffled almost entirely of this footage and almost made me not acquire this location, it offended me so badly. This is unbiased tedious idle writing, and the worst fraction is that some of these episodes might have seemed a lot better if they had been separated from the others thematically, rather than foisted on an unsuspecting public like some kind of collection. Richard Basehart seems so frustrated that he rudely snaps out his lines, while Consume Dowdell tries hard not to roll his eyes once or twice if you leer stop. David Hedison honest looks like he wants the day to be over with.
I must do mention of one other aspect of this series. Since its premiere, we have seen that they withhold runt arms in various places. Here is a list of what I’ve seen so far:
1. Arms locker in the bow of the sub.
2. Arms room somewhere among the corridors of the sub.
3. A pistol in a miniature compartment next to the control room
entrance.
4. Nelson keeps a pistol in a obedient in his quarters.
5. Crane keeps a pistol in the desk in his quarters.
6. A crewman surprised by villains while at work pulls one
out of his toolbox!
7. A crewman attacked among storage shelves pulls a pistol
out of what appears to be a cigar box(?!!) .
Why do they bother to arm themselves when they exercise their weapons on each other far more than on any enemy? I mean, I despise political correctness as grand as the next guy, but this is a bit powerful.
Don’t obtain me scandalous, I have some personal favorites here, such as “the Fossil Men” and “the Creature”. “The Wax Men” is an fresh gem here as it really does develop a creepy and disturbing atmosphere. As a fan, you can bask in these as long as you aren’t expecting distinguished. Unbiased gain in mind that these are the episodes that gave weight to the harsh criticisms leveled against this explain. I had been enjoying these sets immensely, and halfway through the 3rd season, figured my memories of many abominable episodes were over-reactions on my allotment, but this spot brings home to me why the note had been an embarassment to some. It practically made me feel cheated by the producers.
I’ve read that there are several respectable episodes in the first half of the final season, so I survey forward to it, but must recommend this one (and probably the last half of the final season) to fans and compleatists; if modern to Voyage, this is probably not the area to launch.

This is one of the only shows my 2-3 year ragged boy will look, and Sharon Stone does an astonishing job with the stories.
Very composed myth lines, not a lot of hi-tech glitz jumping out at your child every 5 seconds. Calming and educational and fun enough to preserve your diminutive one entertained.
My son loves Harold! This is his second tape and he watches them all the time. I really like it for him to observe before bed, it helps choose him down. The cute imagination is huge!

Doug Stauber (Seann William Scott) and Richard Wehlner (John C. Reilly) salvage themselves competing for the same managerial spot. Where most films would have one clearly likable character pitted against another bad one, this work takes no such short-cut. Herein resides the beauty of this allotment. The Promotion is as mighty a drama as it is a comedy.

Just a short caveat: This is not your typical comedy, so the exposition may throw you off. Nonetheless, after the first ten minutes the film’s playfulness begins to contemplate through … and by the twenty-minute note, the viewer is thoroughly engrossed. So, honest let go of all assumptions and let Conrad (the director) guide your feelings.
At times, this portion is genuinely hysterical: the comment-cards, the shopping-cart gag, the parking-lot gangs … all silly. At other times, it’s deliberately uncomfortable: both men need this advancement, both men have families, both have our sympathies. The moments of tension are fairly intense. The betrayals are almost heart-crushing. But even in its darkest moments (there are a few), the viewer never wants to abandon the film. Its complexity is what makes this work so curious!

Hey, I knew it was a big film when I heard Public Image Minute on the soundtrack (impartial had to say that) . But it is the runt details that add a touch of reality: the well-intended but entirely annoying neighbors (who play the banjo), the myopic supervisor (who thinks every minor infraction will bring-about the apocalypse), the sticker name-tags musty at company-retreats (though everyone knows each others’ names), and the bizarre mantra that the customer is always correct (even if they concuss you with a Yoo-Hoo bottle) . No matter what your spot in life, no matter what your career, you should gain some cut of yourself here.
This is a very clever, surprisingly nuanced, and entirely relatable work. It was both strangely touching (Riley dancing in the vacant store was surprisingly painful) and yet comedic (the Teddy Grahams stalker seemed to turn into a demented “Where’s Waldo”) . Can you ask for more?
If you want to inspect Seann William Scott in a more weak, more fascinating role, this film may be a well-behaved choice. (Who knew he had it in him??!!) I hope more of these complex roles advance his contrivance!
The closest film to which I can compare Conrad’s The Promotion is Forster’s Stranger Than Fiction. Though there isn’t powerful one can call “existential” in this share, there is a similar emotional dynamic. So, if you’ve ridden that particular roller-coaster and found it gratifying, you may luxuriate in this one.
P.S. This film made me reexamine my advance to comment-cards. It consider I’m going to originate peppering-in some expletives … honest for fun … but only on the clear ones!!
With the likes of Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly leading the map ones initial response is this is going to be a mammoth “guy film” filled with crazy, insane behavior and lots of scantily clad young ladies. If that’s the evening you had in mind this is not the movie for you. The ‘08 film `The Promotion’ is a rather wistful, lifeless titillating narrative of the innate desire to succeed in the workplace yet remain right to who you are and what you want to enjoy about yourself. In other words it posits the examine “Can you hold your self-respect and dignity while striving for upward mobility and financial security? ”
Watching this rather unexpectedly vulgar key film I found it somewhat disconcerting at times. Previously conditioned by other films I’ve seen with Scott and Riley I found myself anticipating something hilarious to occur and it simply never happens. When I finally came to the realization that this was to be something totally different for these two and attuned myself with the trot and theme as presented I discovered it was actually quite obliging though subdued. I guess that’s my diagram of giving `The Promotion’ a tentative approval.

Dean is a young Broadway god who loves the wine, women and song. When he’s drafted, he tries to find out of it, to own his easy going life. The movie is truly an myth as it spans the entire war, from its aloof begin to its brutal demolish. Along the plan we realize that there is grand and unpleasant on all sides. Marlon’s character tries to produce a stand for what is lawful, but is told repeatedly that a kindly German soldier follows orders. He falls in like with a French widow. Noah is repeatedly beaten on (both emotionally and literally) for being a terrible Jew by those whose side he is on. While some might say the fable is a cliche, perhaps this is only because the account is so Accurate. It is always sterling to be reminded objective how rough a war really is, and how there are no genuine “unpleasant guys” and “edifying guys”. There are only courageous men and women who try their best and grow along the awy.
Although filmed in dark and white, you do come by some elegant Bavarian landscapes at the beginning, when Marlon is a ski instructor. Later, Marlon goes to Berlin a few times to meet with the wife of his commanding officer. The rest of the footage is in war-torn Paris, the surrounding countryside, the deserts of Africa, and the cities of London and Current York.
Of the three distinguished legend threads traced in “The Young Lions” –Marlon Brando as a conflicted Nazi soldier, Dean Martin as an American showbiz type who fights to overcome his alarm of entering the war, and Montgomery Clift as a Jewish-American soldier who has to overcome the racism of his Army mates — the Brando storyline emerges as the most compelling. It’s certainly the most purely dramatic storyline, and the most complete. Add to that Brando’s shimmering performance, and the strong supporting performances of Maximillian Schell, Parley Baer and Mai Britt, all of whom surround the Brando character, and you have enough for a satisfying movie by itself.

Further, Hugo Friedhofer’s masterful gain always seems — at least to me — to wing to its greatest heights when we accept ourselves in a boiling desert with the Afrika Korps, or in Paris with Brando’s Nazi unit during the occupation.
Does this nearly three-hour film suffer from this lopsided situation of affairs? Not really, and that says a lot for the sheer craftsmanship of “The Young Lions.” The cinematography and direction are first rate, and while the Clift and Martin storylines aren’t as gripping as Brando’s, they do occupy your interest. Clift gets across the fierce determination his character possesses, and Martin makes the most of several nice bon mots the script tosses his diagram.
“The Young Lions” is a exquisite World War II film, one that definitely rewards repeated viewings.
