This is one of the only shows my 2-3 year ragged boy will look, and Sharon Stone does an astonishing job with the stories.
Very composed myth lines, not a lot of hi-tech glitz jumping out at your child every 5 seconds. Calming and educational and fun enough to preserve your diminutive one entertained.
My son loves Harold! This is his second tape and he watches them all the time. I really like it for him to observe before bed, it helps choose him down. The cute imagination is huge!

Doug Stauber (Seann William Scott) and Richard Wehlner (John C. Reilly) salvage themselves competing for the same managerial spot. Where most films would have one clearly likable character pitted against another bad one, this work takes no such short-cut. Herein resides the beauty of this allotment. The Promotion is as mighty a drama as it is a comedy.

Just a short caveat: This is not your typical comedy, so the exposition may throw you off. Nonetheless, after the first ten minutes the film’s playfulness begins to contemplate through … and by the twenty-minute note, the viewer is thoroughly engrossed. So, honest let go of all assumptions and let Conrad (the director) guide your feelings.
At times, this portion is genuinely hysterical: the comment-cards, the shopping-cart gag, the parking-lot gangs … all silly. At other times, it’s deliberately uncomfortable: both men need this advancement, both men have families, both have our sympathies. The moments of tension are fairly intense. The betrayals are almost heart-crushing. But even in its darkest moments (there are a few), the viewer never wants to abandon the film. Its complexity is what makes this work so curious!

Hey, I knew it was a big film when I heard Public Image Minute on the soundtrack (impartial had to say that) . But it is the runt details that add a touch of reality: the well-intended but entirely annoying neighbors (who play the banjo), the myopic supervisor (who thinks every minor infraction will bring-about the apocalypse), the sticker name-tags musty at company-retreats (though everyone knows each others’ names), and the bizarre mantra that the customer is always correct (even if they concuss you with a Yoo-Hoo bottle) . No matter what your spot in life, no matter what your career, you should gain some cut of yourself here.
This is a very clever, surprisingly nuanced, and entirely relatable work. It was both strangely touching (Riley dancing in the vacant store was surprisingly painful) and yet comedic (the Teddy Grahams stalker seemed to turn into a demented “Where’s Waldo”) . Can you ask for more?
If you want to inspect Seann William Scott in a more weak, more fascinating role, this film may be a well-behaved choice. (Who knew he had it in him??!!) I hope more of these complex roles advance his contrivance!
The closest film to which I can compare Conrad’s The Promotion is Forster’s Stranger Than Fiction. Though there isn’t powerful one can call “existential” in this share, there is a similar emotional dynamic. So, if you’ve ridden that particular roller-coaster and found it gratifying, you may luxuriate in this one.
P.S. This film made me reexamine my advance to comment-cards. It consider I’m going to originate peppering-in some expletives … honest for fun … but only on the clear ones!!
With the likes of Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly leading the map ones initial response is this is going to be a mammoth “guy film” filled with crazy, insane behavior and lots of scantily clad young ladies. If that’s the evening you had in mind this is not the movie for you. The ‘08 film `The Promotion’ is a rather wistful, lifeless titillating narrative of the innate desire to succeed in the workplace yet remain right to who you are and what you want to enjoy about yourself. In other words it posits the examine “Can you hold your self-respect and dignity while striving for upward mobility and financial security? ”
Watching this rather unexpectedly vulgar key film I found it somewhat disconcerting at times. Previously conditioned by other films I’ve seen with Scott and Riley I found myself anticipating something hilarious to occur and it simply never happens. When I finally came to the realization that this was to be something totally different for these two and attuned myself with the trot and theme as presented I discovered it was actually quite obliging though subdued. I guess that’s my diagram of giving `The Promotion’ a tentative approval.
Don’t bother to invite the guys over for this one, put it for a peaceful evening at home with the wife.

Compare Prices on Weeds – Season Two
Yes, it’s a drama all moral, despite the half-hour format. The tone of its second season reminds me more than anything of the ancient “Six Feet Under”: it’s extremely amusing, and extremely lustrous, and it moves from ultra-dry sitcom territory into worthy darker places (and serve) without warning or apology.

“Weeds” casts its satirical throwing stars in 360 degrees. While drug warriors acquire their well-justified comeuppance, we more libertarian types don’t glean off exactly scot-free. Fair the upright medicine when it comes to a debate that’s been all but shut down in more mainstream circles.
Not that you need to have an notion about pot politics to devour the razor-sharp dialogue or, failing that, Mary-Louise Parker’s stout brown eyes and diabolical deadpan delivery.
I cherish the television series WEEDS on Showtime.

It’s large! Why? Well… it has a variety of factors that invent it superb, one being the casting. The entire cast of this display helps fabricate what it is, a gargantuan drama.
The location is obviously a bit risque but it draws you in and begs to be tollerated. After a while, you salvage intrigued in the storylines and score zigzag on the suspense. Every now and then, you score a lil bit of sadness and or romance to trigger up some emotions. Otherwise, your rooting with either laughter or applauding the shameful efforts some of the cast members go to objective gain it.
The tale does not honest evolve around Mary Louise Parker but other charachters as well. Therefore you are not drowned down with one single location but multiple storylines that play well within eachother.
If you are looking for a edgy unique old-fashioned series to plop down one weekend and engulf yourself in, this prove has got to be it.
You’ll be rooting for more after the slay of each episode. Only if they made the episodes longer. You don’t want it to slay. But, when it does… you near down from your high and await the next series.
This is certainly not a expose for those under 18 but for adults, it brings you into a level of sizable television but with a cinematic thought.

Compare Prices on The Young Lions
Released in 1958, this gloomy and white WW2 yarn traces 3 men – two American, one German – through the trials and tribulations of that war. Stars Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift and Dean Martin.
Marlon is a young German watchmaker who always dreamed of being a doctor – but the strict caste system of europe has held him down. While he realizes the Nazis are a bit shameful, he hopes they will back to bring opportunity to all people.
Dean is a young Broadway god who loves the wine, women and song. When he’s drafted, he tries to find out of it, to own his easy going life. He runs into Noah (Clift) at the draft board – a young, terrible Jewish man who has no family and only a simple job at Macy’s. The two hang out and Noah falls in admire with a mild Vermont girl.

The movie is truly an myth as it spans the entire war, from its aloof begin to its brutal demolish. Along the plan we realize that there is grand and unpleasant on all sides. Marlon’s character tries to produce a stand for what is lawful, but is told repeatedly that a kindly German soldier follows orders. He falls in like with a French widow. Noah is repeatedly beaten on (both emotionally and literally) for being a terrible Jew by those whose side he is on. His future father in law only reluctantly accepts him, and his squadron mates hold his money and fight him. Dean refuses to marry his long time sweetheart and does his best to avoid any risks.
While some might say the fable is a cliche, perhaps this is only because the account is so Accurate. It is always sterling to be reminded objective how rough a war really is, and how there are no genuine “unpleasant guys” and “edifying guys”. There are only courageous men and women who try their best and grow along the awy.
Although filmed in dark and white, you do come by some elegant Bavarian landscapes at the beginning, when Marlon is a ski instructor. Later, Marlon goes to Berlin a few times to meet with the wife of his commanding officer. The rest of the footage is in war-torn Paris, the surrounding countryside, the deserts of Africa, and the cities of London and Current York.
Of the three distinguished legend threads traced in “The Young Lions” –Marlon Brando as a conflicted Nazi soldier, Dean Martin as an American showbiz type who fights to overcome his alarm of entering the war, and Montgomery Clift as a Jewish-American soldier who has to overcome the racism of his Army mates — the Brando storyline emerges as the most compelling. It’s certainly the most purely dramatic storyline, and the most complete. Add to that Brando’s shimmering performance, and the strong supporting performances of Maximillian Schell, Parley Baer and Mai Britt, all of whom surround the Brando character, and you have enough for a satisfying movie by itself.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Young Lions! Click Here
Further, Hugo Friedhofer’s masterful gain always seems — at least to me — to wing to its greatest heights when we accept ourselves in a boiling desert with the Afrika Korps, or in Paris with Brando’s Nazi unit during the occupation.
Does this nearly three-hour film suffer from this lopsided situation of affairs? Not really, and that says a lot for the sheer craftsmanship of “The Young Lions.” The cinematography and direction are first rate, and while the Clift and Martin storylines aren’t as gripping as Brando’s, they do occupy your interest. Clift gets across the fierce determination his character possesses, and Martin makes the most of several nice bon mots the script tosses his diagram.
“The Young Lions” is a exquisite World War II film, one that definitely rewards repeated viewings.

Compare Prices on Pan’s Labyrinth
This is the plot fairy tales primitive to be — before they got bleached, pressed, and de-linted by half-wits trying to protect tender ears. Before they got Disney-fied. Distinct, there’s violence here, some of it evil, but none of it gratuitous. Could it give a kid nightmares? Maybe. But given today’s pablum stories, maybe it’s about time.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Pan’s Labyrinth! Click Here
Pan’s Labyrinth takes us directly into the subconscious, and into the storyforms that infuse all of the ample myths, fairy tales, and religions. It’s a rich and satisfying stew of symbolism, mystery, and redemption. Multilayered and bright, it’s a film you’ll want to witness again. It’s hard not to gush, but it’s been so long since a movie this satisfactory has made it into the quasi-mainstream.
What makes Pan’s Labyrinth most effective is it’s juxtaposition of harsh “reality” and the mysterious world that lives side by side with it. The heroine, a young girl who may carry a magical seed of immortality (the soul of god’s only child who once ventured into the world of men, suffered, and died long ago), is contacted by shapeshifting fairies who lead her to a faun (distinguished like the mythological Pan) who says she may reclaim her throne and hasten the mortal world by performing three tasks. The faun in Pan’s Labyrinth is every bit as complex as the mythological Pan, a creature perhaps older than the gods themselves. There’s something sly, and perhaps even sexual about this radiant and almost alien faun, as he represents the forces at play inside this sensitive young girl. In fact, like every righteous fairy myth, all of the irregular, wondrous, and chilling creatures characterize facets of the subconscious, including baby-eating ghouls, flitting fairies, and gluttonous toads.

Pan’s Labyrinth is a commentary on the resiliency and power of the human imagination, and takes us to the region where dreams are spun and the broad mettlesome chronicle of overcoming (of the self and the world) takes root. That spark of the divine in all of us — or at least the hope of it — powers the sizable record of our lives, and we need tales like this to remind of us of the magic and transformative power of narrative telling. In the flickering light of the theater, like some mountainous hearth around which we’ve gathered, Pan’s Labyrinth took me abet to my childhood, and made me believe of so many of the gigantic stories I’d read over the years — of demonic dogs with saucer-sized eyes, of child-stealing trolls, and putrid stepmothers. And, finally, of the champions who venture down into those colossal cracks in the Earth, where the roots of mythic trees twist and wind and the greatest admire of all can be found: the genuine, plucky, and undying spirit that lies within us.
First of all, this film is not superb for children. It is intended to be an adult fairytale with a young girl as its protagonist. Everyone I know who have viewed this film has loved it, including my 75 year old-fashioned father, who is not really into foreign films or art films.
The is not qualified for children for a few scenes of torture and violence. While difficult to sight, it serves to design a sense of accurate difficulty, ugliness, cruelty and unsuitable that propels our protagonist to perceive comfort in another world of grotesque beauty. She is a young girl in the midst of a brutal civil war where both sides reside under her roof, and the only reason she is superb is because her mother is pregnant by a fascist general. There is a sense that this safety is precarious and could evaporate swiftly due to circumstances beyond her control.
The protagonists other world is sparked by a discovery of an dilapidated labyrinth by the archaic house where the general holds his plot and has a doctor seek to the pregnant mother’s ailing health.
This other world that is created is amazingly done and is gorgeous in its grotesquely Gothic map. The unusual pick up is perfect for the film with its haunting humming lullaby. The young girl is perfect young heroine that is flawed but lovable. You want her to fulfill her destiny and dash to her throne in a magical situation. The rest of the cast are wonderful showing the elephantine range of humanity in a time of war from tall cruelty to astonishing courage and compassion. The film itself has a sizable sense of pacing, almost poetic writing, and is able to sustain up the feeling of suspense.
The movie is dusky, delicate, cruel, agonizing, and has kept haunting me. The film made me sob and at times took my breath away. It made me feel gigantic to peer such a well-made movie in the era of over hyped corporate films. This had the craftsmanship of an expert watchmaker.
The lullaby mild lingers in my mind.

In episode 1, Gabe visits his uncle and cousin in Egypt. Gabe’s uncle has been working on an archaeological dig and has uncovered the tomb of a mummified prince. But, the mummy doesn’t like being alarmed and he’s soon chasing after Gabe and his family.
In episode 2, Jeff Carter’s dad has sent a sarcophagus to their home. Plus, Jeff’s sister Kim has a despicable habit of scaring him. Soon, Kim and her friend have Jeff believing that the mummy in their basement will approach to life and pick up them. Unfortunately for Jeff and Kim, the mummy DOES near to life!

In the final episode, Eddie and his friend Hat are frustrated because a know-it-all girl in their class is showing them up. They determine to lure her to Muddy Creek and into the waiting arms of the Mud Monsters. But who will slay up getting caught?
The Goosebumps series are fun, scary short episodes aimed at children. They are scary, but usually not enough so as to really frighten the viewer. My whole family really enjoys this series. If you want some suitable, dapper scary movies to contemplate, then check out “Return of the Mummy” and others from the Goosebumps collection.
I admire the goosebumps episodes. This, however, hasn’t been one one of my favorites. Aloof, it has it’s moments.

Compare Prices on A Bridge Too Far
In a film of comely nuance, Richard Attenborough captures the horrors or war and the dignity of those who must endure, soldiers and civilians alike. The stellar cast of “A Bridge Too Far” (a veritable who’s who of acting greats) sets this film apart. Sean Connery leaves slack the cold assuredness of Bond and faces futility with a mug of tea while Anthony Hopkins, a obedient Englishman in Hell, surrenders with dignity, only reluctantly accepting chocolate from the enemy. James Caan is a particular standout. With moral American grit, he bends all the rules and makes noble on a pledge. The scale of the film could have wrought disasters on par with the campaign it portrays. Fortunately, the immensity of the Market-Garden campaign, which historically met its Waterloo at Arnhem, doesn’t swallow up the stories of individual characters, of the Brit with umbrella for instance or the Dutch resisters who inspect for the Allies.
Buy,Download, Or Stream A Bridge Too Far! Click Here
Few World War II flicks showcase the absolute beauty of the European countryside. In “A Bridge Too Far,” the landscape, made all the more picturesque in its difference to the gore and destruction, is certainly an additional star and supports the wisdom of shooting this expensive account in the Netherlands. The wide-angle near, as well as the engrossing rep, give balm to eyes and ears now accustomed to the tortorous naturalism of “Saving Private Ryan.” Attenborough pulls wait on, thankfully. In its final scene, “A Bridge Too Far” achieves poignance without dialogue, without bluster, and without the current scheme of summoning tears with half-baked, insipid bathos. Sir Lawrence Olivier and Liv Ullman perceive straight ahead, the unique graves of British paratroopers lining their path from an elegance destroyed, from an order and faith utterly shattered. The scene is perfection. And the film itself is discontinuance to it.
Cornelius Ryan’s nonfiction saga is masterfully told in the film adaptation. MARKET GARDEN, hoped to be one of the death blows to the German Reich, was bold and ambitious, but failed to bounce the Rhine and bring the war to conclusion. Locations in the Netherlands included the exact Nijmegen Bridge, fall zones outside of Oosterbeek (which is next to Arnhem), the Deventer Bridge closely doubling as the bridge at Arnhem, and many scenes filmed at the Dutch Infantry training center at nearby Harskamp. Producer Joseph E. Levine and Director Richard Attenborough drew equipment from numerous nations, including quite a few museum relics, to manufacture this film. What they did not have, special effects and props departments created in order to obtain a realistic and mostly historically factual rendition of this September 1944 battle in Holland. Where the film deviates from the book is that the movie tends to paint the Allied planners as blind to the possible flaws in the operation and German Field Marshal Model is portrayed as a cowardly fool. In reality, Model’s immediate actions, though based on erroneous assumptions, greatly contributed to the containment of the Airhead north of the Neder Rijn. A BRIDGE TO FAR ranks highly with films like THE LONGEST DAY and SAVING PRIVATE RYAN in terms of intensity and historical accuracy.

Compare Prices on Resident Evil: Degeneration
The Resident Nasty series has become one of the top selling titles for video game company CAPCOM. Known in Japan as “Biohazard”, the series has sold over 34 million games and among the series, one of the most approved titles was the 1996 Sony Playstation game “Resident Foul 2 which introduced us to the characters of Racoon City rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield (sister of “Resident Contaminated 1 hero Chris Redfield) .
Buy,Download, Or Stream Resident Evil: Degeneration! Click Here
The two were current characters that fans enjoyed and in 2005, “Resident Inferior 4 featuring Leon Kennedy became a sizable hit earning “Game of the Year” by various publications.
With the popularity of the character of Leon Kennedy, how fitting was it when CAPCOM announced the reuniting of both Leon and Claire. As a fan of the video game series, I was definitely aroused and couldn’t wait to inspect the film. “resident evil: DEGENERATION” takes status seven years after “Resident Irascible 2.

VIDEO & AUDIO:
Picture quality is delicate satisfactory. The film is entirely in CG and was created in Maya. The CG was well done but not as fluid as “Final Fantasy: Advent Children” but unruffled looked very impressive. The rendered character models were unprejudiced vast to sight at (especially at the beginning when you perceive the airport or even the WilPharm HQ. Both inspect very realistic!) and Leon, Claire and Angela Miller model renders were unprejudiced very well done. If anything, there is tiny jerkiness when it comes to a cessation up of a character and trying to accomplish it do natural and realistic movements during a conversation. But during the action scenes, the movements were very nice and overall, the CG was very well done.
If anything, fans of the video games will more than likely indulge in these CG rendered scenes.
As for audio, the audio is featured in Dolby Digital 5.1 and during the action scenes (which there are many), sound does near alive and sounds very obliging on my system. Dialogue is quite obvious. As for the music, the ending theme “Guilty” is by Japanese music artist ANNA TSUCHIYA.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
The DVD features quite a few special features which include:
* The Generation of DEGENERATION featurette – This featurette interviews Makoto Kamiya and other CAPCOM staff and their goal with the film, why they old-fashioned the genuine English notify actors in terms of the motion recall (including having them learn how to own a gun) and more behind-the-scenes footage on the creation of the film. Also, fan reaction at San Diego Droll Con.
* Character Profiles – Profiles feature a text blurb on each character and you can access a video or photography profile (from parts of the film) .
* Remark Bloopers – This is more or less bloopers but not obvious if it was intentionally created or if it was proper bloopers. One featured Leon Kennedy telling the others about his “fee”. Quite comic to look.
* Faux Leon Interview – I’m not quite clear what this feature was about. A man is interviewing one of the motion pick actors and the actor is talking about working with Kamiya-san and others on the film.
* Resident Evil: Degeneration Trailers – Trailers for the film
* Resident Evil: Degeneration Tokyo Game Exhibit Trailer – Tokyo Game Expose trailer
* Resident Wicked 5 Special Game Footage – Promotional video for the upcoming Playstation “Resident Heinous” game.
* Resident Sinister 5 Game Trailers – Trailers for the upcoming Playstation 3 video game.
Let me first say that I am a vast fan of the “Resident Unpleasant” series and I possess nearly all the US releases. “Resident Rotten 2 really was innovative when it first was released for the Sony Playstation and was my celebrated R.E. game until “Resident Ghastly 4 was released and that video game was unbiased wonderful.
So, that being said, watching this film had me smiling because I absolutely love both the characters of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. How this film furthers the storyline of the two characters but also builds on obvious situations that may have major ramifications for future video game releases is quite engrossing.
So, with that being said, I enjoyed the film because the creators really wanted to pay homage to “Resident Putrid 2 and “Resident Irascible 4 video game series and its fans. But I realize that many people who are not familiar with the video game series are wondering how the context of this film is to the live-action film series featuring Mila Jovovich.
There is a relation by name and of course, the virus that turns people to zombies but really, this film was created for the fans of the video game series in mind.
Also, with this being a video game-related film, many who crave a deep storyline with character development of who is Claire and who is Leon may feel disappointed. The reason why video gamers who played the video games is that through those video game moments of playing these characters for hours, there was a vested interest.
I would consume that many viewers not familiar with the video game series won’t assume up the importance of Claire or Leon to the valid “Resident Detestable” storyline. In fact, some may wonder why they should care about these characters especially at the waste with the politics surrounding the viruses.
So, with that being said, “resident evil: DEGENERATION” is an awesome film for those who followed the video game series. The film features plenty of non-stop action, bloody violence courtesy to the zombies and you even pick up a scene with blood that splatters on to the camera. But the enjoyment comes from those who had the experience of playing “Resident Heinous 2 and “Resident Despicable 4 and to peruse Claire and Leon again.
The CG looks sizable and there are some moments that I was impartial really in terror but at the same time, there are some movements that were jerky and robotic at times. But overall, the model renders were worthy and Leon and Claire seek very helpful. So, the bottom line is that this film is fair total fan service for “Resident Detestable” video game fans. So noteworthy that I highly recommend this DVD.
For those who are not familiar with the video game series, you may appreciate it but if you are expecting a continuation of the live action films, then this DVD may not be for you. In fact, some may be disappointed because there is no strong residence for them to truly appreciate these characters especially without playing the video games. So, I can understand if they don’t fetch into it.
Again, if you are fans of the “Resident Spoiled” video games, you can’t benefit but have a smile on your face because there is now a “Resident Foul” film that was created with the RE video game fan in mind. And for that, I recommend this DVD for you!
I watched Degeneration in NY Dread Film Festival. At first I didn’t quiz a lot from this movie, cause the live action trilogy is very disappointing and I impartial didn’t dare to inquire it would be capable, but it is. If you’re an RE fan, it’s a must-see movie. You won’t be disappointed. Luckily the movie doesn’t focus on fighting zombies too distinguished. It is a drama/thriller. The movie successfully combines T & G-virus storyline fans are familiar with. Although not distinguished character development, you can delight in the chronicle. CG fraction in my belief is not as honorable as Final Fantasy. Characters’ facial expression is a slight stiff, and their “stares” are slow. Women watch like they had plastic surgery. But these are not serious problems, fair the technical parts they need to improve. Degeneration legend is great better than FF. After watching its premiere, I can’t wait to catch the DVD.

I have all 3 currently available sets for Wild Kingdom. This one is the best. While the others tend to focus on one particular animal or group of animals, this one allows you to jump across the globe and look MANY different animals and even cultures. My popular episode on this region was when they were trying to occupy the Hippo. While it is a great and potentially deadly animal, it is unimaginable what it looks like to view three limited men trying to recede this massive beast. All of these shows were viewer picked as well! All 20 of them. Which brings me to the other piece…the other sets have less than half the rush time of this site. This position, including extras, goes for almost 8 hours. While the other sets are well under 4. The other sets have 10 episodes. This one has 20. My 6 year conventional son, my wife, and myself Admire this DVD site. Even though this situation was released a mere month ago, it is in VERY high expect. If you can catch it, i suggest you grab it! Delight In!
Highly recommended to people of all ages. I loved this explain as a child and now, seeing it again I aloof adore it. Broad family viewing. Fascinating and educational. Wish we could find ALL episodes.
